Okay, let me clarify a few things first. 😊1. I'm in English Honors, in middle school. So my teacher is a bit picky.2. I need edits. Criticism is welcomed!Artemis Fowl is a science fiction/fantasy novel by Eoin Colfer. This compelling book describes the exploits of Artemis Fowl, a child genius who discovers the secret existence of fairies. Unlike the tiny pixies often described in fairy tales, the fairies in Artemis Fowl are a dangerous, technologically advanced, and highly dangerous race of creatures. In this book, Artemis must outsmart complex fairy technology, solve complex codes, and kidnap a fairy officer to collect a ransom that will restore the family fortune. (please post to continue)

The main characters in this book are Artemis Fowl the Second, Holly Short, Butler, Commander Julius Root, and Foaly, and Mulch Diggums. Artemis Fowl is the protagonist (?) in the story. He is a 12-year-old child prodigy and multimillionaire from Ireland. His father, a European criminal who is also named Artemis Fowl, went missing about 2 years ago. His mother, Angeline Fowl, sank into depression after her husband?s disappearance, leaving Artemis free to do whatever he wished. Butler, Artemis Fowl?s personal bodyguard, always stays with Artemis. He is described as ?big as a house? and demonstrates superior fighting skills. Holly Short is an elf that Artemis kidnaps to bargain for fairy gold. She is the first ever police officer ever to be in Recon (short for Reconnaissance), an elite branch of the LEP (Lower Elements Police, the fairy police). She has an indomitable personality and is very compassionate. Commander Julius Root is Holly?s short-tempered but kind superior officer who is genuinely concerned about Holly?s safety, although he doesn?t show it often. Foaly is a centaur and the highly intelligent technical advisor for the LEP. He frequently makes sarcastic comments, and has designed almost all of the LEP?s technology. Mulch Diggums, a kleptomaniac dwarf thief and a convicted criminal, he is hired by the LEP to break into Artemis? home, Fowl Manor (the setting).

In this book, Artemis attempts to steal gold from the fairies to fund expeditions to search for his missing father. He does this by kidnapping a police officer, Captain Holly Short. When they discovered that Holly was gone, the rest of the Lower Elements police force laid siege to Fowl Manor in an attempt to force Artemis to return her. They placed a time-stop around the manor and sent several creatures in to try and recover what they had lost. (A time-stop is an area in which the occupants of the area have become trapped in the past, unable to reach the outside world.) They sent in Mulch Diggums, a dwarf who had been arrested for theft, and a troll, a violent, carnivorous creature. (Because an enchantment stops the police fairies from entering human dwellings unless they want to forfeit their magic and experience nausea and sickness, they have to be invited in. The troll was sent in an attempt to get the people inside the manor to ask for help, which allowed the fairies to enter.) In the end, they decided to bio-bomb the home. A bio-bomb is a devastating biological bomb that instantly kills any living organism it comes in contact with. This included insects, plants, and humans. However, Artemis was able to escape and won a large amount of gold.

@ice Yep! I wouldn't say Artemis is the protagonist, maybe the main character would be a better description. He's not really the good guy.

@iceConsult a thesaurus maybe, to find some more descriptive words? Other than that, I see nothing that could be majorly improved in this report. 😊
