So you know how there is a leaderboard for eggs? Why isn't there a leaderboard for users? To show most popular people? Can I have some opinions?@isis@icicle_9510@ian@miomar@balletninja@qwaszx (Always ping yourself)@dawnfur@trish@croonton1@darcy_vasquez
balletninja • 20 June 2011 at 6:44 PM
Ummm how do you measure popularity?
crooton1 • 20 June 2011 at 6:44 PM
How would we do that? xD
qwaszx • 20 June 2011 at 6:46 PM
@balletninja@croonton1It counts how many profile views and comments each person gets and displays the ones with the most somewhere. Sorta like counting click/feeds/views.
crooton1 • 20 June 2011 at 6:47 PM
@Qwaszx CROOTON1!!! xDAnd uh, I think this site would get really crowded. Dx
randomkitty17 • 20 June 2011 at 6:47 PM
Most popular people....? Like most views on their entire cove? Or most pings sent to that person..? I don't know what you mean, and I think *some* people would get jealous/upset (no I'm not talking about me....)EDIT: oh, didn't see that yet. Okay, I know what u mean 😊 but the ping idea works too, right?
balletninja • 20 June 2011 at 6:48 PM
@qwaszx Ehhh, I don't love it. I think you need to be more realistic 😊Also it might hurt people feelings, I think that eggs are a good measurement!
bazoo • 20 June 2011 at 6:55 PM
I think that popularity depends on how other people think of that person. Of course, Ian would be the Top 1. 😃 But I don't know, not all views and clicks of an egg come from Arkians, though.
Ian • 20 June 2011 at 6:59 PM
@bazoo aww thanks.typically what most forum systems do is they have a "reputation" system, whereby users "rate" the posts and content of other users. it's like a glorified "Facebook Like" button. your score could be calculated based off your ratings, but it poses problems in itself like:- a group of users mass "unliking" a person's reputation- artificially increasing your reputation through multiple accounts- and a user can technically rate another user however they want, regardless of their post contentthoughts?
crooton1 • 20 June 2011 at 7:00 PM
@IanGood point. BAD BAD BAD.
bazoo • 20 June 2011 at 7:01 PM
Hmm... I love the reputation system on forums. The solution I can think of is provide a reason for a rep/unrep you are giving. After a moderator has monitored this, the rep can go through. And @ian, you're welcome 😊
Ian • 20 June 2011 at 7:01 PM
@bazoo and i could only imagine how taxing that would be to mods though, you know?*unsure*
crooton1 • 20 June 2011 at 7:03 PM
@IanWe don't need it. It could make people jealous, sad and mad.
Ian • 20 June 2011 at 7:03 PM
@crooton1yes -- good point. reputation wars are definitely not something you want on a community. 😃
crooton1 • 20 June 2011 at 7:04 PM
@IanI now control Ian. Ian make my Shillas an Onny. NOW. 😈
puffup • 20 June 2011 at 7:04 PM
@crooton1 (this is @qwaszx) But it is like the leaderboards and people don't get mad, sad or jealous over that. @ian
crooton1 • 20 June 2011 at 7:05 PM
@PuffupStill, if they are UNPOPULAR they might be offended. :/
randomkitty17 • 20 June 2011 at 7:06 PM
@puffup but it's different. People are saying how much they like YOU, not just an egg or creature.
puffup • 20 June 2011 at 7:06 PM
@crooton1 well it would only show the top ten most viewed so they could be in the top 50 for all they know.
crooton1 • 20 June 2011 at 7:08 PM
Sorry, I agree with Randomkitty.
balletninja • 20 June 2011 at 7:10 PM
It is offensive. This is a big community not a schoolyard playground with popular people. A ton of people come on here to avoid real life in that way. End of story!
puffup • 20 June 2011 at 7:11 PM
Never mind. I just thought... Never mind...
plantparadise • 19 August 2011 at 5:36 PM
Reviving this ideaHow about we have leaderboards for people who feed the most? XD I LOVE feeding and sometimes being recognized for that would be nice. 😋 Being rewarded for feeding wouldn't be bad, would it? @Ian
