Grace looked around as her mind became chaotic. She had just been tossed into a cage. Like an animal. 'Come on, control yourself! Control your thoughts! Calm your mind,' she thought. 'Obviously you can bend these bars. Now go and do it!' Shaking, Grace pulled herself up into a sitting position. She focused on the bars. They had no thoughts, but she pretended they did and focused on them. 'Act as if they have minds,' she guided herself. 'Go into them and take a look.' She focused on the molecules, the slowly shaking atoms of the bars. 'Now, telekinesis to move the brain nerves, the thoughts, the memories,' she instructed. It went on like this as she worked on the bars.

Sylvia glared at Grace and kicked the cage over. "Stop trying to escape, the bars are made of an nuclearic metal substance, it can not be broken."

Grace pushed her hair out of her face. "Would you rather I pop all of your nerves and veins instead? Really, I don't see why you're wasting your time," she sighed. She scanned the area around her.

"I knew you were impulsive, but suicidal?" Grace shook her head in mock dismay. "Never would have expected it." Making very little motion, she quietly flicked open a pocketknife and started sawing the bars behind her.

Grace winced as the knife cut into the palm of her hand. "You're lucky that I'm not the violent type," she said, a smirk appearing on her face. "Maybe I should be."

Grace scoffed,"You can't give anybody any old injection. That's a chemical recipe for literal disaster. I nearly went completely insane and almost destroyed a whole agent HQ building when I was tested on!" She glared.

Grace looked around for a stick, a rock. Anything! She glanced at other Gifteds in cages. They had figured out by listening to the conversation that she was telekinetic. They nodded minimally to a piece of rock debris and then to some keys. Grace nodded casually as she gently picked up the rock with telekinesis and tossed it at Sylvia's head.

Grace's aim wasn't true and it hit Sylvia's shoulder. "WHAT THE F*CK.", Sylvia yelled out loud, knocking Grace's cage over. The cage slammed into the walls of the HQ and the cage door splintered open.

By my judgement, it's not too late. If you immediately want to get into the action, you should probably start around the agent HQ.
I just got the first book today for my b-day and I'm already 1/5 or 1/4 thought it.

Sylvia hissed and morphed into an tiger. She bounded after Grace. And bit her shirt, hurling her into a cage and slamming the door shut. Sylvia locked the cage, and threw it into the back corner of the room. "I warned you.", Sylvia growled and chased after several other gifteds. Out of the 25 that were captured Sylvia only returned with 11, including Grace.

Grace smirked. Even though she had been captured, over half of the Gifteds had escaped.that felt pretty good. It helped her ignore the fact that she was feeling lightheaded.

Sylvia glared at Grace from across the room. Sylvia waved her hand in annoyance and looked out the window to see gifteds running and agents chasing them around. A few agents came in and brought 3 captured gifteds. "Hey.", Sylvia said cooly. The agents bowed slightly to Sylvia and walkd out after throwing the captured gifteds into the cages. Sylvia looked towards Grace. "Experimentation should begin soon."

The sun was setting. "Time goes fast around here.", Sylvia said, inspecting her fingernails. Sylvia dissolved into the darkness and an single light flickered on in the middle of the room. Sylvia seemingly teleported to Graces cage, and hit the butt of her knife on her head. "Your lucky i didnt use the sharp end.", Sylvia said. Sylvia took a drug and made Grace eat it, it would make her mind foggy and prevent her from using her powers for the next few days. A couple of agenrs came and dragged Grace away, with Sylvia following.
