Finally, common sense took over. Grace looked at the boy's mind to see what he was. Realizing he was an agent, she started to choke on her coffee. Seeing the Gifted girl smile at him, she read her mind as well. That only started another coughing fit.

"You really think I'm that stupid?" Grace scoffed as she flicked the pocketknife open. "By the way, this isn't the only weapon I have. Don't get carried away." 'It was like this last time,' she thought. 'I start blabbing on, put up a fight, inflict damage, talk, get captured.'

Sylvia took an ninja star from her belt and threw it towards Grace. "Wait-", she said and a mass of darkness blew up in front of Grace, the weapon sinking into it. "You got lucky", Sylvia said. "My shifts over.", she said as the sun began to rise.

It's because of people like you that I have to hide every day of my life," Grace said, her voice wavering. "And it's because of people like you that I have this kind of life! I was tested on like a rat. I became something I didn't want to be! I live a life I don't want! We all just want to be treated like normal people. But of course, YOU can't let that happen!" She continued talking in that fashion.
