Charlie gebbed Pixle's hand as she helped him up. The beast was out cold, for now. Charlie sprinted down the cave he thought was the exit. They came to a dead end. In the center of the cavern sat a small gem, its radiated a purple glow. Charlie felt the water from his body conse to steam. If there were going to be anymore creatures, there was no way he could fight the with water.

Pixle swallowed tightly as they came to the dead end, her fingers crackled as he static shot from the tims and bounced around the stone before disipating into the air.

'What next?' Charlie inquired. He glanced around and heard the beast roar. It was only a matter of minutes before it came looking for them.

Pixle shivered slightly and walked over to the stone, she easily pulled it off of the stand it was placed on 'welp, that was easy...' she muttered, dropping the stone as it shocked her 'and that...' she thought to herself, touching it again, the same jolt sending up her arm 'ok that plan's out' she muttered to herself, picking it up and locking it back in place before it shocked her too bad. 'Got any ideas lime?' she asked Charlie, looking back at him

'You okay Pixle,' inquired Charlie, he saw stone shock her. 'Follow the smoke, it gets us main cavern. Then, we can get outta here.' If this was Phase 1, what did the rest have in store? Charlie thought to himself. He picked up the purple gem, it did not have the same electic reaction. He shoved it in his pocket. 'We might need it later.' He stepped towards the tunnel...

Pixle nodded slightly as she followed him, still confused as yo why the stone shocked her. Smoke coiled around them, creating a thick black screen

The smoke curled around thier legs. Charlie felt something brush by his foot. A serpent slithered out of the cinders, its massive head shaped like a triangle. It seemed to smile, showing off a row of white fangs.
Charlie froze and turned to Pixle. 'I guess we're not out of the woods yet!" He focused, but the water turned to steam, causing nothing more than a low pitched hiss.

Pixle swallowed tightly, she held her hand out slightly, her finger tips crackled but the elextricity just fizzled 'well..maybe we can knock it out by fighting it physically?' she muttered, looking up at Charlie

Charlie lept at the snake, it contorted out of his reach. Its tail wrapped around him, squeezing until Charlie puffed out a final breath. 'Pixle,' he muttered...

Pixle glared at the snake, her eyes flared for a moment as she picked up a rock, diving into the shadows, almost disapearing before jumping back at it, slamming the rock against it's head and zipping back into the shadows, she picked up another rock, the sharp edges giving her an idea, she ran behind the snake and started cutting it into pieces, running into the shadows, running out, taking a cut or two, and repeating the process as she chopped it to bits.

Charlie collapsed on the ground. The stench of blood and dirt filled his nose. 'Thanks...I owe you' he coughed. Dusting himself off, Charlie could see a glimmer of light in the distance. 'I think thats the entrence!' Charlie staggered toward fowards, pain shot through his legs. 'You okay?' he called back to her.

Charlie gripped a root a pulled himself out of the pit, dirt fell to the cavern floor. Sunlight nearly blinded him. Cheer erupted from the crowd, while jeers soon became louder. Charlie reached down and lifted Pixle out. Brenden parted the crowd, waving them off.
'So you survived Phase 1, hmmmm. The prophecy was correct. Phase 2 will start at noon tomorrow. You shall stay in 'The Compound'. If you even step one toe out the door, I assure you, you will be killed,' Brenden's eyes twinkled with malic. 'Sweet dreams!'

Pixle shivered slightly, she stayed behind Charlie, her hands were going numb as she watched Brenden, his words echoing through her head as she listened to what was left of the croud.

Charlie followed Brenden towards the building dubbed 'The Compound'. He led them into a room with two small beds. Charlie plopped down onto his bed and let out a long sigh. The starchy sheet crinkled under his weight. 'Even this planet has itchy sheets' he joke tring to lighten the mood. Pixle sat on her bed, hugging her knees. Locking eyes with her for a moment Charlie smiled. 'Are you sure you're okay? I've never seen you so...angry'

Pixle sighed, leaning against the headboard and staring at the ceiling, her eyes blank 'im not angry, just confused...' she muttered, looking down at her still-numb hands 'got any plans?' she mumbled, looking back at him 'besides survive? it seems like both of our powers were canceled out...' she siged, looking over at him.

I try to put up as many obstacles as I can, I never want this to end. Lol!!

'Keep you alive I guess. I'm not really sure what to do. What happens after Phase 4?' Charlie focused on the floor, white tiles shinning like they had just been waxed. 'Do you remember anything before you were put into foster care? If its too personal, you don't have to answer.' His heart ached at the though of losing his parents. He began to wonder what had become of them.

'The strange thing is Brenden's been in all my classes since kindergarden. They must of planted him...' Charlie slid his shoes off and wiggled his toes. 'Faking death could work, but it would take lots of planning. Lets not forget what happened to Romeo and Juliet.'

@swimforlife maybe we'll have to go off at the same time =3 and I'll be slow this month, gotta finish ALL my schoolwork by april first so I can move up a grade and maybe get to go to the banzai convention ^^


Pixle grinned 'you're right....it's..it would...' she coughed a few times and froze up, her eyes widened slightly as her hands shook a bit, she twitched a few times and fell over, her eyes wide and glassy as she stared at absolutely nothing, completely still and silent

Shooting- Omigosh!! Don't die Pixle--call 911!

Charlie heard a soft thump; Pixle had fallen off her bed. She lay with a gaze locked on something, Charlie's heart almost stopped. He stooped down and felt for a pulse. 'Pixle can you hear me?' A weak heart beat could be felt as he lay his fingers on her wrist.

Charlie smiled, 'Convincing, you really dropped your heart rate' He sat back on the bed leaning his head aginst the wall. Rubbing his aching shoulders Charlie spoke, 'I can't imagine what will be instore for us tomorrow. Dragons and snakes...what's next?' The stars tingled, not the flaming pain but a new sensation.

Pixle shrugged, sighing a bit as she watched the ceiling 'traps, obstical courses, they might try to drown us, put us in a maze, who knows...' she muttered, looking up at him, Pixle could only shrug 'the possibilities are really endless

Charlie sighed 'Guess it could be worse...' he began to trail off. Sleep deprivation made his eyelides droop. 'Night Pixle' Charlie whispered as he drifted off into sleep.

@swimforlife hahaha, this ones pretty fun, probably a more cheerful take on her life, hehe, and yea, I check on it every day =P usually two or three times, or when I'm pinged

Night...' she muttered, eventally she crawled into her own bed as sleep washed over her, she didn't ever expect to dream, she lmost never did, until now of course, it was a more vivid trance, something she had seen in her sleep more than once
'Pixle listen to me, you have to do this' the voice echoed, a rther blurred face, though familiar, was still somewhat hard to make out 'please, if you don't then we have no hope of escaping, it's creating a time parado....' the voice was cut of with a loud crash that threw her into a chamber, the crippling pain that shot through her body made her shake in her sleep as the trance went on.
"Where did you go..." she muttered, the ceiring pain racking her spine as she felt herself reverse-aging 'why me' she thought, still shrinking, her vision began to blur and the trance blacked out until her heartbeat echoed in her mind, with every beat there was a sidden flash that would quickly fade away, she remembered two faces, her parents, she could remember bits and pieces of her life before, serving her time as a mine walker in Slovakia, her adoption, the cruel moments after, Pixle awoke with a start as she had a recollection of when she was shot in the arm, almost as instantly as she awoke, thhe dream started to fade from her memory.

Charlie stubled trough dreams, most of darkness and the night sky. Events of the past week replayed in his head. Suddenly, he heard a gasp. He glanced through the darkness, only cathing Pixle's fuzzy outline. She was crying, choking in little fits. 'Pixle, its me Charlie' he said as he placed a hand on her shoulder. 'It was just a nightmare. I'm here now. Did you have a flash back?'

Pixle just kept her knees hugged to her chest, she kept her head low as she shook a bit 'I...I dont remember...' she rasped, looking back up at him before putting her head down again 'it...' she just shook her head and sighed, wiping a tear from her cheek as she stared off, her mind echoing the soft thudding

Charlie sat on the edge of her bed for a moment. A small ray of light penetrated the dusty grey window; dawn was breaking. 'Pixle, its almost morning'
An older woman knocked on the door. She smirked, 'Morning, you shall have until noon to prepare for Phase 2.' She slid a tablet on the bed. 'Here's a menu for breakfast, tap what you want. It'll be up in a few minutes.' Charlie wondred what type posion would arive. 'I assure you' she said 'Killing you is more of a sport that posioning you'. The woman fixed her dark brown bun and shut the door with a soft click. Charlie read over the breakfast choices. Cautiously, he chose fruit and granola. Locking eyes with Pixle for a moment, he searched her eyes for answeres. The green pools remianed glassy.

@swimforlife kk ^^ idk if I'll be here, haha, filming friend called up and wants to know if I can come watch some of the river with her and then walk to our activity tonight =P guess we will ahve to wait and see

Pixle sighed as she pulled away from his gaze, getting up and witting on the edge of her bed, watchig the light on one of the stands, she focused for a few moment before the bulb shattered and the light rushed around her, forming a ball in her palm 'Im not taking chances' she muttered as she looked back at Charlie 'at least we know that if they try to drown us, you'll survive and I probably wont' she tried to joke, letting out a slight sigh and going back to drawing energy from the orb of light that bobbed in her hand.
