Egg ownership.

You know how under your creature it say
Stolen by someone
Stolen on some random date

The user listed isn't always the one who actually stole the egg. I think it would be cool it whoever stole the original egg had their name there and there was another place for the current owners name.

For example, if I stole and egg and gave it to Crooton (since here's here), it could be like this:

Stolen by: Thepells4

Stolen on: ---- ----, 20--

Currently owned by: Crooton1




...?

I definitely like this. It's a great idea, especially with the amount of hackers and thieves happening right now.

I like it for a lot of reasons, but at the same time, a bunch of my eggs came from totally random people and trades, and it would be kinda weird I feel like... like, a lot of the users are probably no longer active, and for a bunch of them it would just be random and not at all useful...

If you're worries about hackers just make sure you record your creature numbers.

I like this idea. 😃 Also, when users are quitting, some of them like to give creatures back to their original owners. That would be easier with this feature.

I also like this, if you're on here for a long time it sometimes gets hard to remember where you got a creature, especially with larger coves. I have actually thought about this before too and I completely agree that it's just weird that it says "stolen by" even if you've traded for an egg (that almost makes you feel like a criminal XD)

I, too, think it's a great idea. It might not document all the owners but it would list the first one and the current one.

If creatures are abandoned at the adoption center maybe it could also say "abandoned" as the original owner, but not listing who abandoned it (since some might not want that known).

I do quite like this idea myself, but... the only problem I foresee is that we currently have no way of tracking who originally stole the egg for the nearly 500,000 creatures that have already been created. In other words: only creatures stolen after the date this type of feature were actually implemented would be "tracked."

In addition, this would still NOT serve as a viable way of solving the "stolen eggs" problem. Why? Any person's name who were on the "Originally stolen by" section of a creature's profile could make a "this user stole my egg" claim and it would still be IMPOSSIBLE for us to determine the legitimacy of such a claim.

I feel like it would be okay not to have it for the already stolen eggs. It would give the older eggs without this a certain rarity.

Also I never thought of this as a way to prove ownership, creatures get traded around too much after they are stolen from the cave. If anything scammers might try to use this to get 'their' eggs back. Still I think it would be fun, especially if an egg was from a friend who quit. I believe it would be fun. 😊

Yes, this wouldn't prove to be very effective against scammers... but it is a nice idea, I suppose.

But a handful of people, including myself, may not want the names of others plastered about their cove. Unless it was made optional somehow. 😋

I like this idea. Especially since people are changing egg names all the time, it would be nice for the original owner to be able to tell which creature once belonged to him or her.

It would also be pretty cool if there was some sort of user history page that showed every egg we stole and who we traded what egg with. (Possibly even what eggs we abandoned... But I'm not sure I'd want to see that. xD) And, like, if the egg names were clickable so we could be taken to our original creature to see how it's doing. It could have a private/public option on it.

@Ian I agree with you that it won't be very effective on scammers, though it would be nice if it was optional. Also I like @icymuffin idea too though I think it should only change to "Owned by" when the creature is no longer with the user who stole it from the cave or got it from the cash shop park.

I also think that @smartie2742 idea should be considered because I think it would be nice if you could keep track of your original eggs, trades etc. and the eggs see how the creatures doing. Though a point to consider for this is that the person ho you may have traded with might not like the idea of their creatures being tracked. Though I really like the ideas and think that they should be considered.

do u mean liek if i traded a creature 2 lets just say Bob. Then Bob trades it 2 lets say Joe. Then Joe trades it 2 lets say Steve, wuld it sayt that? Or just teh first owner (me) and the current owner (Steve)??? 😋

It sounds like more work for Ian than necessary. Do you guys have ANY idea how hard coding is? XD

I mean sure, it sounds like a cool idea, but like Ian said, it would only work for eggs created afterwards and scammers would go crazy.

I also agree with meteoroid, that if this does go into effect, it should be made optional. I don't want other users' names all over MY cove.
