@Cresentfeather, rated_18 also adopted a few rare creatures from me, and I haven't seen them ever since. S/He also changed their names, and since I didn't save the numbers, I don't have any way of tracking them down... poor things... they probably got into bad hands and will die... D:

Some advice from me: always write the creature numbers down and make sure you get creatures of equal value as a guarantee, if they scam you then at least you won't be left with nothing.

I only let people freeze my eggs if they've done it before. Or, when they freeze, they offer the same creature, or the same value. @zac usually freezes my eggs, so I'm safe. ;]

I'm disappointed. Really disappointed in Egg Cave right now.

Why?

Because I just read the respond I got from Ian on my reports of everything that happened yesterday with the stolen eggs. Turns out he can't do anything to return the stolen eggs to their rightful owners.

I mean... I don't know what to say. I just feel devastated. It's as if the bad guy who stole the eggs won. And without any resistance from the head of Egg Cave what so ever.
That's just... No, I lack words.

Apparently I'm lucky to have gotten my Roo back, and, yes I feel very lucky to have her back, but I'm also going to have to watch three of my other eggs die in rated_18's cove. Even though I can prove they are mine there's no way to return them to my cove and that's it, Ian says.
End of story.

Makes sense. Seems fair. Yeah... Really... Not.

If you look in the 'FAQ' it states:

There is no way for us to return your creature to you. You should only trade with people you trust!

So, next time read the FAQ's and know who you're swapping with. If you have NO history with the person, wait till the next person who has CC pops up. Try going with 'popular' and trustworthy users.

Remember, freezing isn't a necessary thing. So don't go around picking anyone who says they can freeze something for you.

And besides, Eggcave is supposed to be an active, great, and protected community. If that was true, In wouldn't even need to TELL US to only trade with people we trust, and he wouldn't refuse t do anything about the scammers. See, the problem is that most people think that there are no dirty scammers on ec. That used to be true, but now, there's one on every corner that you can't trust. And nothing's being done? Honeslty, I just don't understand it. Yes, you should trade with people you trust, but something SHOULD be done. Not just, 'Well, YOU traded the creatures your fault, and I could get them back for you, but you need to learn a 'lesson.'

He does care, but it's YOUR problem if you chose the wrong user. Common sense, if the person i either a newbie, has no CC creature of their own, or is begging to freeze your creature, you should step away.

i understand your concern. hopefully i can explain what i said a bit more so it makes more sense. 😊

in the event that a user purposefully transfers their creature away from their account to another person, that creature is no longer within their control. the "rightful owner" is the new recipient of the traded creature(s). regardless of whether or not another person says they are trustworthy, you shouldn't trust somebody over the internet that you don't know in real life or doesn't have an outstanding reputation within the community.

this is exactly why we cannot return "stolen" creatures. it's exactly that: they weren't stolen. you chose to transfer and trade them away. you assumed the risk that you might not ever get them back. this is why you're so lucky to have your Roo back. 😊

in our investigation, we've found matching IP addresses between rated_18 and blitz_x_celica. it means rated_18 *is* blitz_x_celica. this whole thing was the ultimate scam. i am sure you will be all pleased to know that this user has been IP banned permanently and deleted.

the idea: if you want to remain the "rightful" owner of your creatures, never ever ever transfer them away.

@Ian WHAT?!?! 😱 *gasp* So... Blitz lied to us? 😱

I thought that in the beginning, when Dove traded with Burning_crayons and lost her pixgog, which was brought to Blitz, and blit had a creature named BurnngSHARPIE. Burning_crayons, burningsharpie? Dove DID get her Pixgog back, but it took a bit of arguing.
Although, I belived again that Blitz was innocent when I saw that message she (rated_18), sent to herself (being Blitz).

This is so confusing!!! *head is spinning* xD

Yeah mine is too. But it makes since, we thought Blitz was being targeted, but when other people's eggs were taken they were given to Blitz. So it kinda makes sense.
