Arinee shrugged. "Sometimes when I'm nervous or embarrased, my feathers flex... I can usually stop it." She thought about the years of training that took.

Alyxis smiled. "You obviously weren't happy with your lives, correct?" her eyes glowed for a moment. "Here, we can train and harness your powers."

"Training? Pah, they probley just put us here so the rest of the world doesn't have to look at us. They're scard of us, that's all." Mari spat, and startedc to plan her escape route in her head.

Alyxis frowned at Mari. "Fine, leave. I tried to make a nice place here so people like us could have better lives. And Leona, we can start now if you like."Arinee noticed how she said "people" and not mutants. She smiled.

Alyxis opened the door. Cool air rushed into their faces. She stepped onto a platform that brought her up to a metal box that had lots of equipment and a window. She turned on the microphone. "See that dome-ish thing?" She pointed down. The floor was large and shaped like an indented dome. In the center was a flat area with a diameter of about 10 feet. "Thats where you train. Leona, you can start."

Alyxis smiled. "You said your power was to adapt?" she hit a button. "Try this." 4 slots opened in the wall. Cannons came out. "Come into the safety zone." she motioned Arinee and Mari. A windowed metal box similar to Alyxis's appeared around them. When the canons stopped firing, Leona stood up and brushed off some soot. Her body was reverting back to it's normal form, but flecks of steel could be seen fading into her skin. "That was really cool!" Leona smiled and jumped up and down. "It felt like a heater was all around me!"(Her body turned into steel when the cannons where firing)

Alyxis clapped her hands and grinned. "Great job! Magnificent! Nafhe, come see this!" A short girl walked over and looked out of the window, expressionless. "Huh." she murmured. Alyxis smiled. "Leona, what do you think you need to work on next?"Arinee gasped. She looked up at Alyxis's box. "Whos that little pink-haired girl?" she wondered.gotta go ^-^

"Uh, I don't know. My body just, um, does stuff. You know? I can't really control it. By the way, who's that pink haired girl up there? Pink hair is pretty cool." Leona looked at the girl, who looked back with a blank stare. Leona shook it off and turned away.
