The accepted definition of "hacking," requires entry into the servers of the site in question. Whenever creatures/trades are stolen its either by carelessness, as @icymuffin mentioned, or from easy passwords.

I highly doubt many, if any, users have managed to get into Egg Cave's database.

Just wanted to make that clear. 😊 I'd hate for the site to get blamed for something that is the user's responsibility.

@james-bond Huh? No, it's a website showing you how fast they can crack your password, and basically gives you an idea what your password should consist of (for them not to crack it)

Wow i cant believe people would go through all that trouble just to get someones password. Just goes to show all the sick people in the world with no lives.

@victoria_the_wolf Sadly, people would do anything for whatever they want, even if it's a bunch of pixels. They think they can hide behind a computer and not get caught (and unfortunately most hackers don't get caught) People should get a life.

Edit: it's like the nipha. (Basically) everyone likes the 2nd stage, not the third. That reminds me. I NEED TO FREEZE MY NIPHA!! I don't have any CC though (never did though lol since I'm in a different country.)

As to this subject from what i read it's the same as other sites :0. I've seen things like this happen on other sites, but i've yet to see any here, probably mostly due to the fact that i kept to myself the last few months only feeding my friends. but now that i've started to pop my head out from the backround it makes me a bit sad as to whats happened to eggcave and how it's changed v.v

I have yet to see any hacker attacks but i agree it's pretty stupid that people would 'hack' others just to steal 'pixels' :/

And yes, the internet world is a bad place. All this hacking stuff happens everywhere but it just started to happen in egg cave. There wasn't hackers before. Now there are! Way to ruin the fun!☹️

Hackers is one sign of eggcave's popularity. Its done everywhere. At first websites are friendly then comes the scammers. Then later hackers. This is just the way things work. I know it would be better without them but Its like impossible to make everyone good 😱

I do wonder why people cheat for pixels to spoil others fun. And I wish it weren't to happen ☹️

Yeah, lots of drama these days. I try to get both sides before judging.

I don't hate on newbs. I might have snapped at a newb, but only if they're rude about asking me for my creatures and such. I usually just nicely say No, they're not UFT/A. If they ever are, I will be sure to tell you. 😊
I don't think I was a very bad newb... I don't really remember though, the worst thing I remember is replying on my own profile, but that is expected on your 1st day. I didn't know how to edit my profile until I was like a month old. 0.o But yeah, I think my newbism wasn't as bad as today's due to the trade center and lots of retired creatures.

I remember when people used to have Ghosty, Onny, Balrog, Mo, Doovoo, Macbot, Tine Giveaways. And when the side-accounters had like 500 Eyelymos.

I used to give away Tines. Like, a lot of them. 0.o
I think it's less likely nowadays because there's a constant flow of new creatures. So you have to have something to trade. The only people I give away creatures to nowadays are my close friends. I hate to say it, but it's the truth with a LOT of users. ☹️

Does anyone agree that we should have some sort of rarity system in place at the archives?

That would be a very useful guide for newbies.

Also, some people can't help but judge by how new a person is, they might be sides or hackers.. no one can really know for sure.

Also thinking of suggesting a filter to be put in for posts. So that everytime someone tries asking for passwords or stuff like that it will be filtered out. Idk if this will help but its small steps like this that will improve the state that eggcave is in right now. What are YOUR ideas? ;D

I dont really get them first hand, though I was flooded with new hopefuls wanting to get some of my eggs. Honestly, I've done that too but I stopped a short while after as I learned that it was rude and disrespectful.

I didnt really liked being flooded with comments from random people.

But looking at it from the newbies point of view, they see it asa good opportunity to get some rares. And all they really want is to have rares.

I bet this is because oldies are becoming more selfish and refuse to trade or help others.

Because of this, there is an imbalance of rares so the newbies flock to people with rares like moths to a light.
