@pendmxcYour not a n00b đ Your more of a newbie to me. I know you came to me when I was adopting out but you did me a favour then by making the process quicker.

@evilyowlingDaww, Danko! đ
stellalunagirl • 9 July 2011 at 3:47 AM
@pendmxc @evilyowling I dont think people should be using the term "n00b" to freely.Its not fair to automatically judge a newbie as a "n00b". They're new and have no idea how the site works.Eggcave is a relatively simple site, but again, people have managed to turn a game which was once just feeding and trading into a highly complex world. The FAQ doesnt have a 'How to not be a n00b' or 'how to get through the game relatively unscathed' section so how would newbies know how to talk or act?All I'm saying is that instead of putting newbies down and hating on them, why not give them a chance and help them out? It may take some time but eggcave would be a much happier place.
evilyowling • 9 July 2011 at 3:54 AM
@stellaunagirlI know, I use that term very rarely. I only ever considered one user one. I want to help newbies out. And I have. Also hopefully the process of teaching newbies will soon be very successful. That way more and more users can understand eggcave much more better.
stellalunagirl • 9 July 2011 at 3:55 AM
@evilyowlingAgreed. â¤ī¸

I saw a newbie putting up a trade, a bunch of common eggs for an ARNMNAE?! Come on, really? And some other user keep annoying me... Like, Is ----- UFA? Of course not Then 'Is -----UFA?" And they're all newbies (of course).0_0 Eggcave was better last year, I got the idea pretty quickly, and I'm not one to call myself an oldie, but I know what to do and when to do it. So many people have quit because drama started up for no reason... Can't it just STOP? >.< Oh, I also started my classmates up on EC (@penguin-lover and @animal82lover and my BFF @smithe ) and helped them out when they were really new... Both got the idea pretty quickly, and I'm still helping smithe. I like helping newbies, but consistently, is well... annoying. We have our own lives on EC, ya know?
evilyowling • 9 July 2011 at 4:27 AM
I know It can be annoying. We all learn at different rates đ All you need to do is politely tell the newbie what to do. And in a understanding way.
Deleted • 9 July 2011 at 4:38 AM
Yeah.đ And another thing is... well, unless we know the person, oldies are getting possessive over rares. XD It's funny, in a way, but constantly trying to please the ANCIENT ONES (đ) is really hard to do, and even more annoying to do. I came on shortly after Ark City was made, and prospered since then. EC used to be small, nice... convenient. o_o But now it's so much larger, unpleasant, hard to... locate stuff.âšī¸

Growing community is hard to control, which is why there's all this 'drama' going on and hackers present. All games start nice and friendly, but after it becomes more popular, all the hackers come in and all the drama starts! It's random really.

bump! Cause it's a good topic đ
rabbitwanter • 10 July 2011 at 12:12 PM
i agree ._. i also hate hate hate how ppl r stereotyping new users!!! grrrrrrrrr :cbut, its not ALL bad c: at least ian never shut down teh site dB
whitefall • 10 July 2011 at 12:25 PM
@victoria_the_wolf - I'm glad you made that club of yours. xD Now us oldies can give newbies advice & tips. They'll have a lot of knowledge soon, and then they can help us keep the newbies in control. :'D

@rabbitwanterTo me, again I say,Newb =/= NoobNewb, New person who doesn't know any better, new person in generalNoob. Spoiled brat. I've seen some around my eggcave age @Whitefall -Thank you, thank you ;D
rabbitwanter • 10 July 2011 at 12:34 PM

evolutary • 12 July 2011 at 12:25 AM
According to my observations, two days ago the population was 31,972 now it is 32,024 (at the time it was posted) I don't know why all of a sudden there's a massive increase in users.
randomkitty17 • 12 July 2011 at 12:36 AM
Eggcave is growing rapidly and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets to be one of the most popular adoptable sites out there. But with popularity comes a price. There's going to be a LOT more problems, what with the hackers/scammers. I'm just saying, we have to be careful....It used to be a small community, where everyone knew each other, but there's just SO many newcomers.
evolutary • 12 July 2011 at 12:41 AM
@randomkitty17 yup, I know right? Not that I mind new comers but with more people joining, there is an increased chance of hacking, scamming and problems. There is this MMORPG that has over 20 million players worldwide and is FULL of them. Personally, I never thought Egg cave would ever experience these problems.
james-bond • 16 July 2011 at 12:54 AM
@choocalate The only reason newbees put up a bunch of common eggs for an Armnae is becuase they are only judging eggs by the way they look. For all we know, they don't even know about 'rareness' but I completely agree with you about how oldies are posissive about rare creatures. Like they deserve them more because they are older.
carnatate • 16 July 2011 at 12:58 AM
*nods head in agreement*
evolutary • 16 July 2011 at 1:01 AM
I don't think like that. I don't care if I don't have an onny or a tine. As long as I'm happy with my creatures, I'm fine. Newbs will eventually learn. Even if it takes years.
james-bond • 16 July 2011 at 1:03 AM
Yeah, it's hard beeing a new bee. I think newbees should have more chance of getting asteroid eggs, and when you get to about two months, less chance of asteroid eggs. How else are you meant to start growing a nice collection if you start with nothing? How, when most old users are too selfish to give away a Goldox or Ragon? I understand when they only have one, or thay think the newbee is unreliable, but that's why you get to know them, talk to them. Not just tell them to shut their mouth and go away and stop asking for their eggs. We all need to be more open. And Oldies should not ONLY trade their rare eggs to oldies because then there is a great imbalance of people who have rare creatures and people who don't.But you like to have some rare creatures don't you? It makes me feel happy when I get a good egg. I like some non rare creatures too, like my collection of shrews. But I lso love the rare creatures.
evilyowling • 16 July 2011 at 1:04 AM
We just haven't adapted to the new changes đ And since eggcave is advertised mostly to neopets users. We need to take the responsibility to teaching our younger users how to go. @victoria_the_wolf has made her start by making the newbie helper club đ If we all put effort into eggcave. We can make this community happy and safe. I have experienced big communities and small communities. Right now we should be glad. We have responded to many new user forums! And welcomed new users. That's another start. Also some others have made rarity forums. Right now we are just improving. I'm almost happy with eggcave. But right now. It isn't just the newbies. It's the drama's. I am clueless on how we can improve that... âšī¸
balletninja • 16 July 2011 at 1:08 AM
@evolutary And if they don't that is how we separate N00bs from Newbies đ The ones you stay and try to understand the game are newbies, who grow into oldies.N00bs usually get sick of the game and leave xD If they don't they become nobodies unless they somehow change (possible)
james-bond • 16 July 2011 at 1:09 AM
Alot of the dramas are based on oldies and newbees though. And the fights start over creature trading. And people lying and getting users deleted.
balletninja • 16 July 2011 at 1:10 AM
@james-bond and people hurting me over touchy subjects, such as my cousin dying -_-
Zac • 16 July 2011 at 1:10 AM
We can start by ignoring it. đ Drama tends to feed off of ranting threads and large arguments because people find that it brings them attention and sympathy.If we all dealt with disputes in a professional manner (privately through mail) and kept everything civil, there would be no drama. đI know, easier said then done, right? But give it a thought. No user is better than any other user. Even if that user is 1+ years old compared to 15 minutes. đ
balletninja • 16 July 2011 at 1:12 AM
Blocking can make things better or worse. For me it depends.
taffy789 • 16 July 2011 at 2:33 AM
No one GAVE me hand outs when I came on. I didn't blame them. Why would they give away their rare eggs for a bunch of common ones????? At first, I started to just get to know people, and hang around. Then, Halloween came. I made a few good deals with the right people, and same with Christmas.I didn't beg for creatures. I didn't complain. Why would you expect me to give away my rares to people who beg??? Work hard, and learn the ropes to trading.

@evilyowlingWoop, I've been pinged ;D
crescentfeather • 16 July 2011 at 4:05 PM
I always post a link to "Creature Values" on newbie topics. I tell them to read it or the oldies will bite their heads off. đ
