@thursdays_dove, I still have elwen.. Dont worry shes safe with me ❤ī¸

To everyone:
I agree with thepells4 about the influx of newbies, although there isnt really, a "newbie code" in which they can follow by.

if everyone had help and were ALL equally sucessful then there is really not point in newbies and oldies as they are BOTH equally experienced and know their way around eggcave. Perhaps the oldies should help the newbies a little bit more, but the newbies also gotta know to step in line.

It isnt easy when you first start out but you have to refrain for stooping as low as stealing and hacking.

I belive this is just like the human world. Only here, people can lie freely and get away with almost anything.

There is drama in everyday life. But there is a higher concentration of drama and threats of hackers becuase its an online game.

@stellalunagirl

Ok, I'm a newbie and I want to take a mature approach to this. Actually, don't call me a newbie. This account is a revival account for the old one pendmx. Yes, look it up, and you see I could have done great things and earn many rares, but, I quit, due to the lack of, or so I believed, interaction.

Now that I've returned, this wish has been considerably twisted, like that of Dragoncave. There is a newbie-unsafe community there, which is why I quit. I got an email regarding the new interface, so then I returned, to see a, what I thought was a better community. Yet, people are still very unwilling to help newbies (aly is an exception) and part with their rares unreasonably.

People constantly tell me : 'I'm sorry, your offer is not worth it,' (direct quoting) and people encourage us to offer and get crushed. This is very frustrating. Often, I'm barely trusted due to my status as a newbie. I'm glad there are people in Egg Cave who do care, because I do too. I hope you will listen to what I have to say.

@stellalunagirl Really? Maybe I'm just unobservant but I don't think this happens as much as you are making out.
I hope you decide to come back 😃

you're head is in a cloud then smilies, because she is right. it's called greed and it's world wide even on eggcave! just saying. and for your info, having your head in the clouds is not a bad thing. it's good & keeps one out of trouble and out of other peoples business 😊

@Smiles
yes there has been quite a few instances..

@pendmxc
I understand what you are talking about. People can't know straight away how they're supposed to act on here and what is worth what. what is it you have to say?

I dont wanna have to be in everyones buisness, though i think that what i am trying to get across is for the general good of eggcave. At least thats what I hope the message is getting across is..

I semi-quit (went offline for 2 months) a while back because of some drama I went through. A hacker traded me a stolen pet and there was alot of fuss getting my pet back and sorting out whose pets they had. Just a few days later I was continually harrassed by a noob who just spammed me continuously and threatened to report me for not giving her an onny, something I didn't have then.

The reality is this : On sites like eggcave, greed is always a motivating factor for some players. Increased communicaton between players has just made it easier for drama to happen.

I find that if you just stick to talking to a set group of friends and enjoy the game for what it is, alot of the drama can be ignored.

@dragonessofire agreed. alot of people have to go nosey in on other peoples buisness, if you think its a problem, offer assistance, maybe even report it. but if you can clearly see your help or attention is not wanted, back away.

@thepells you said on page one: Too many newbees. That makes me sad. It makes me feel that newbees are less important that oldies. I thought oldies were meant to be helpers, not dislike newbees. That isn't fair.
When newbees join, those old newbees can help the new newbees. The oldies just don't understand how hard it is for new bees to figure out which creatures are better than others, ect. They've been here from the beginning, so of course they find it easy! We need to understand each other!
And 60% of the time newbees started the arguments? Okaaay. That also makes me feel bad. We shouldn't be saying things like that. That is what starts the arguments in the first place!
Duh, oldies are quitting! They have been on for longer! Egg cave NEEDS newbees to keep this game interesting! If this was only full of oldies, your eggs won't feel nearly as special! The Onny wouldn't be nearly as rare!

@phalen is a newbee! And NO ONE will say that she isn't a nice newbee! Don't generalise guys. eg. Once, I asked if I could trade for an oldie's creature since it was in the TC, and before I'd even offered, she told me that she wouldn't trade with me because I wasn't older than 6months. 😱 How would you feel?

@victoria_the_wolf I know some noobs too. Ones that called me a noob.

But I also know some incredibly nice ildies! like Katarina and Muppet and so many others!

@_icarlyrocks_55

I know that girl who said her family died in a tsunami. She begged for my shaibuns "or other rares" and then when I went to her profile I saw how she was being all dramatic in the comments, saying she'd be with her family and her eggs would die along with her

I was so confused o_o

@victoria_the_wolf

I saw that, I was like no comment. Then just never saw that user ever again O.o Except in a drama forum.

Deleted • 8 July 2011 at 7:33 AM

@james-bond

When I trade, I don't go by age [Unless they're, like, under a week and have a million rares..] I look at their eggs, see they're healthy, and look that no one in the comments isn't indicating something fishie.

@evilyowling

At first I felt bad for her, but then I saw people saying "Give me back -enter egg name-"

When eggcave first started, you could trade freely. Now-a-days you have to screen them //Points above// to make sure they're not an egg stealer.

Though, as the egg owner, you have to watch out who you're trading with. Because it's not actually "stealing" because you clicked the accept button. [Not you, you, but you as in someone.]

When I 1st joined there was no adoption center, no trading center, so When i was a newbie, there was no begging for eggs, because there was no way to transfer them, there wasnt even rare eggies back then i think 😃 cause no CC or retired 😉 haha fun fun 😊 the rarest was terron or calla and mo 😊 😸 And also there was no ark city or EC ... 😃 hehe i miss those days 😉
but now with all the CC and retired eggs around i can see how easy it would be for newbies to want those eggs and think that they arent worth that much so they ask if they are UFA :/ It gets annoying after awhile but I just try to be polite and explain to them about rares in eggcave 😊

The newbies are eggcaves future oldies 😉 So oldies should help them and show them the way 😊

One thing that really annoys me is how generous users give creatures away and stuff but greedy users come and take it for granted.... >_<

I gave away 40 of my LE retired creatures to newbies and offerers 😊 One of them was 2010 CRW. 😱 I try to be nice.

As I said, there are newbies and then there are noobs

Newbies are new people, which I'm fine with 😸

Noobs can range from 1 week to 1 year - who act like spoiled brats.

@stellalunagirl I remember we used to be friends a bit, and you were really nice! I just don't think this is ever going to stop. All we can do is tell the new people how to improve and if they choose not to listen, ignore them. If this site gets bigger (and it will) we will just have more of these people. We just need to suck it up and move on 😊 Because this is going to happen no matter what.

I sit in the same boat as @meg. I'm never rude to newbies, if they need my help, I will try to help them. Any "old" members I've come across have pretty much been nice and helpful. Newbies can annoy me when asking for my eggs/creatures, but I'm thinking of raising some on a diff account for newbies, just for the heck of it, to help peoples "get on their feet" so to speak. I haven't noticed drama much here at all. Then again, I don't NORMALLY read posts-every once in a while maybe. I just mostly go around and feed peoples eggies. ❤ī¸

@victoria_the_wolf but I know some noobs that have been around for longer than a year.

@balletninja as the site gets bigger, there will also be more oldies that complain about the newbees. We need to stop this NOW so that is 'oldies hate newbees' thing doesn't carry on through the generations to come. So some of the oldies need to line themselves up.

The only reason newbees are 'annoying' and ask for rare eggs is because they like the way they look, and that's the only way they judge them. Don't be harsh, they don't know about rareness of creatures.
