Suggestion; Polls

So either in blog posts or under the community tab, we would have a spot for polls.

For example, using the newest Chocob redraw. It's 50/50. Half the people like it, the other half don't.

So maybe before the EC staff decide to do a redraw - they can hold a poll to see if the users would be happy with it.

For example:

Do you think the Chocob needs a redraw?

[ ]Yes, it needs new artwork
[ ]No, it looks completely fine!

I think it's a good idea. It helps Ian know what the community is thinking before he does anything real too big. So we don't get half of EC mad, wanting to quit. Like what happened with the Christmas re-releases.. I applaud you. ^^

I got a Florn and traded it to get my bud an X-mas gift. I didn't care about Florns, cause I hate 'em xD

I think it's a good idea in theory, but I'm not sure it will be used. So far I've never really seen the Egg Cave staff change their opinion just because the users complain or stuff like that. If they want to redraw a creature I think they'll just have it redrawn.

On the matter of the Chocob I'd say I like the new one better than the old one. Never really cared for the old one. (Side note.) 😉

I agree. Polls would be good.

But all the same, I think it is a bit stupid for people to flip out and quit because of the new Chocob, or the re-releases. You get what you get. That's the end of it.

@whispers I think this is a decent idea, but sometimes there are changes which would be an improvement in the long run, but which users wouldn't want because of 'nostalgia' or such. The revamping of old sprites is one. Even if it's improved from a 2D model people will still complain. It's finding a balance between what the community want and what is better for the site.

@whispers - I'd love for there to be a poll option when creating new posts in the forum. It'd be very useful! And also fun for the not-so-important stuff. Silly topics like "Which do you like better, the Florn or the Foo?" or "Are pet names really important to you?" and so on. 😃

Yeah, I meant the re-releases too...

I'm not arguing against the idea, I love the idea, I just think that it is stupid to complain. You get what you get. If you feel like quitting because of some re-releases, that just seems sad. Really. Ian has done wonderful things for us, and I bet he rips out his (beautiful) hair just because pleasing us is SO FRICKIN HARD. Seriously.
