I worked a long time to get my immortals, immortal.
Why should they then die after a certain amount of time? That's pure poppycock!

As far as hoarding; I never agree with any kind of hoarding, but this is a free society, so you can do what you want. I have 60 honks, I love them. That's my choice. If someone has the money to have 60 cc creatures, isn't it their prerogative? It's their money (or their creatures they traded away to get what they wanted)

Also, if someone wants double, triple the price for something, that is also their choice. That does not mean YOU have to trade or bargain with that person. You can simply ignore it and use your own skill to get what you want. There are nice people on egg cave to trade with that are not greedy.

This is the real world and in this real world, many people are very greedy. Learn that now and save yourself a lot of stress.

Venting serves a purpose - but never is the WHOLE, Happy, at the same time.

@novrain62 Well said -- I agree completely. 😊

Something to point out: competition, whether it be for travels, creatures, CC, whatever, is one of the forces that makes Egg Cave so enjoyable. Without this "capitalist" attitude I think the site would be a very dull place. Let's not be so quick to wish it away.

I am sorta concerned for the safety of Egg Cave. It doesn't seem so safe any more. All the hacking, threats, that one person writing inappropriate things on Ian's wall. Truthfully, I don't want to play if it isn't safe here.

Anyone that posted tks.

@zac @novrain62

About what you guys said, of course.

People have the right to do as pleased, if following the rules.

What I'm most concerned is just that many people that are starting, end up quitting because they don't even have the time to see that exist good people here and that if they work they can get dream creatures.

Sometimes, you can make a stand, even if it's just to call it a problem. I decided to just say what bothers me. I'm not saying that people have to do what I want, just that those reasons make sad.

But, honestly I see your points, specially about how boring it would be if everything was easy.

@blackdeathkitty

I agree with you, the Cave is having many problems with that, and for younger people it is very complicated.

I'm much older, so I really don't have quirks with those, but since the cave has rules very clear about the age rate and inapropriated content, people should mind what they say.

Well, I a little bit agree with you. But eventhough, it IS a user's choice to trade their eggs. The users with the cove that are worth more sometimes have dying below immortal creatrures, and most of the time those users aren't even online.

I beleive that if an abandond account has not been deleated. If the user doesn't get online within 6 months, their account should be deleated. It always kills me when people say they quit and don't send in a ticket. Because you don't know if that cove should be fed or not.

@kalateevolk

If this was to happen, and accounts to be deleted, six months isn't long enough.

There's a chance I could be leaving for awhile because of a death of someone close. If I took a six month break to re-group and came back to my account gone, that wouldn't be fair.

Many users have come back after more than six months.

Maybe 5 years or something, to clear space. But even then, I don't like that idea.

I specially like users that giveway the creatures. I did it when I quit the first time, and I don't regret it. Many people were super happy and got the chance at eggs that they probably wouldn't get.

This times, I benefit from quitting user that tried to give loving homes to there eggs.

Of course this is a very problematic thing, specially with the large number of fake newbie accounts and the begging. And also the decision of keeping you pets if you desire to came back after some hiatus.

What I think it would be a nice feature is common courtesy. People could a least state at their profile the quitting/hiatus status and intructions about feeding or not ther creatures.

I do like the idea of purged accounts, that is very common in other sites. The ideal was to warn the purging. After a time frame, the site would automactly send a e-mail stating that if in one month that cove don't have a acesse would be deleted. That away a person could go and open the cove or choose not to and have her cove deleted.

@melancholy

I also don't see why a user should have to give away their creatures. If I quit, I won't be giving away any of mine. Because I know there's a chance I could return.

Warning before purging would be nice, but my stance on this idea all depends on the length of time before purging.

I know I've also been grounded for six months before. That seems way too short a time frame to me.

I have a friend here that has been gone over a year now. She simply vanished. I believe she has passed away. It's a feeling. Yet things can happen for many reasons unforeseen, but eventually these untouched accounts should probably be deleted from the system after a long period of time to free up 'space'. Truly it's hard to know what to do in that circumstance. If it was my site, it would probably be five years. If you can't visit your account even once a year then why have one at all? Simply have it deleted when you know you are done with EC - Out of 40 some thousand accounts here, how many of those are valid?

Have a great day!

@april__ I didn't said user have to give their eggs away. I just say I like people how do it, and that I did it before.

About the time frame I think about 2 years is nice. Someone that takes longer then that probably wont come back.

@skibunny9 Tks, I think I will.^^

@melancholy

I returned to my Neopets account after two years and was very happy to see everything in tact. >_> I wasn't happy about the conversion but that's a whole different topic.

I don't know. It's hard to imagine a cove full of a couple tines, some CC creatures and all that and then suddenly it's gone and on a whim the user tries to come back a year or so after it's deleted. It doesn't sound right. Especially when some users put real money into their accounts. They should have access to them.

Or even a system where the account is deactivated but if they send in a ticket it can be given back to them. Much like self freezing on Neopets.

@novrain62 Exactly^^ I think that too. Of course you would have to give a time for the person to really see if she wants to come back, and a warning before deleting the account would be great.

But like you said, someone don't come and see her cove for more the 3 years, why have it?

I have an account at a writing site - your account gets purged if you are not active after a year. You are warned of this prior to registration and during your activation. You get a final notice before the purge. You will lose everything you've written, all award, photos, everything. They keep their system purged and that site rarely has technical problems. There are things you can spent real money on there, but if you abandon your 'site' you risk losing it. That's how it should be to keep things running smoothly.

@novrain62 livejournal?

@april__ I think it would be perfect to have teh self freezing or another mechanism that assure people how might come back.

I think for me something between the purging and the self freezing would be good.

@novrain62 - *heads to the very top post* Wow! I am speechless.

People quitting especially new ones are their choice I believe. Most have reasons why that are unknown to us. Some are assuming things but, I doubt that most aren't or maybe? Whatever you decide is your choice because life is a choice. 😊

People has their own prospective when it comes to process and has different opinions especially when it comes to trade or selling travels but that is how they see things. For example if you sell a Haunted woods travel they doubled the price or makes it to 100K EC because others will buy that price. Others also check on rarity. If a person has a personality that loves a challenge or had a mind-set view or perspective and can control their patience I'm sure they will aim for their dream creatures just like me. 😊

I so totally agree pn the above post. But, does your account really get deleted if you don't comeback in a year or so? 😱

Deleted • 19 June 2012 at 8:48 AM

I personally don't like the immortal-should-die-if-not-fed. I mean, the point is that its immortal- you wouldn't have to worry about it. I also don't like the 6-month before your cove is deleted thing, I mean, what if someone is banned from the computer for 7 months? They come back and have to start over? Plus, users have the right to say "no I don't want to trade". My account @snowball888111 is my immortal NUFT creatures, and I don't think its snobby to say "Sorry, no, please read my profile, my creatures aren't for trade."
I [would] like to see more LE creatures. Where are the June monthlies?! Its just a bunch of travels... and a chocob makeover.

^^ Ranting. If you don't agree you can say so ^^

The June monthlies have BEEN here o.O

And I have been banned off my computer for a few months while playing EggCave. I would not have liked it if I came back, and found all my CCs that I worked so hard to get - gone.

I MISSED THEM!?

I know. I spent 750cc on my solis (then 250 more to freeze it) and 1250cc on my shamrue o.O

@meringue Those were not monthlies. Those were limited edition creatures that were available for a particular month, themed for that month. We have never been promised cave monthlies.

@melancholy

Point 1: Yes it isn't great but the seller isn't getting anything out of it. Who's gonna go for a deal like that?

I definately agree with point 2. It's simply unfair, some people don't know that they're getting ripped off. People can however look at the egg cavern site where all teh prices are listed. I especially hate how people buy the entire amount of the one travel in the TA. Can't they leave some for others to find?

Point 3: Thread, not tread. 😊 I don't think you can be annoyed about the trading threads, there is even a special forum category for them. And the forums is one of the best places for advertising trades. It's not okay to ask for free feeds, but people need to post a new feeding thread for themselves so people know who's doing the feeding.

The private club thing... I don't know where else everyone can post on one wall. And there aren't that many. And if it's private, why would it interest someone who's not in it? You can still ask if you can join if you really want to.

sorry but honestly. about immortalizing.

i personally feel that immortalizing is kinda 'ummmmmmmm.'

im not against the people who really worked hard for immortalization and keeping BELOVED pets as a trophy.

but i might rant about certain clicking exchange method.

some people can immortalize the creature for just 3-5days and so.

i find this method cheating/boring/not fair.

plus messed up LE rarity because of that.

what do you think?
