@silver_winged@buubles1688@taffy789@hedwig68@wolfmilk@anyoneelsehereI'm going to be gone for the next two weeks, at camp. Sorry! xPAlso, because of that, if anyone was going to go after Alura, they can go before her since I won't be there 😋

@hedwig68 @taffy789Laurel glanced over toward Alex, her eyes wide and inquisitive before she remembered to smile. "That's a malachite," she replied within a second. "Lovely color, isn't it? I like the bands." Then, she turned her attention back to Elly, motioning with her hand for Alex to continue making her choices."I don't know whether to be pleased or offended," Laurel replied in a bright, teasing tone. She took the bottle of lemongrass scent from the table and squeezed two drops of perfume into the kettle. "That's absolutely correct," she replied, tapping on the case once. "Then I'll need a hair and you're all done!"@buubles1688One character at a time, please. Also, if she wants to stay a part of the action, then Hazel might want to remain by the tent instead of wandering off through the forest . . .
hedwig68 • 15 July 2012 at 9:01 PM
Alex nodded and decided that she would go with the malachite. It was a beautiful rock and she found the green color and the lovely bands simply amazing. She then began to look at the variety of plants, she looked from plant to plant and purple flowers caught her attention. She looked at them and read the tag, she had realized that everything was tagged. The tag told her that she was looking ethereal purple prairie smoke, she decided that that was the one she wanted. Then she walked over to the perfumes to decide on the one she liked.
taffy789 • 15 July 2012 at 10:37 PM
"Don't worry, you should be pleased." Elly laughed, and then turned to the display case. She examined all the different types of objects, wondering what each one might be. "I think...I want the rough looking gray fur." Elly finally decided after a few moments of thinking. "It reminds me of my friend's dog's fur..." Elly then plucked one long, dark brown hair from the very top of her head, and handed it to Laurel. Even though she hated to admit it, Elly felt a flutter of excitement corse through her body. Those creatures promised obvious adventure...And they were rather adorable...

@hedwig68 @taffy789Knowing that the girl was probably anxious to see her new companion, Laurel did the rest of her work wordlessly. She unlocked and opened the case, retrieved the tuft of fur, and dropped it into the kettle. As soon as it hit the bottom, dark smoke began to rise within the kettle. It was thick and heavy, colored blacker than the night. With an almost silent hiss it spilled over the rim of the kettle, evaporating immediately as it hit sunlight. Under the shade of the tent, it danced and swirled, seeking out the darkest corners. Laurel took the hair, dropped that into the kettle, and then picked up her spoon. She stirred the mixture three times clockwise, and then stooped and flipped the kettle over. Now she allowed herself to smile at Elly as she silently counted to ten. Smoke continued to seep from the kettle, sneaking out the tiny gaps within the dirt. As her countdown finished, Laurel bent down to flip over the kettle. However, she seemed to remember something, and with an embarrassed smile she merely pressed her hands against its brass sides and waited for a reaction. Another few seconds crawled by silently. Then there was a scraping sound, like something pawing at the kettle from the inside. Laurel lifted it to reveal Elly's new creature.-c

It was a sweet-faced puppy, with small, dark eyes and low-set, floppy triangular ears. It had a short, dense, harsh coat of pure black fur, with a slight greyish tinge around its eyes. Its tail was medium length and curly, and it wiggled slightly as its searching eyes found Elly. The canine let out a little bark and bounded over to her, placing its front paws on top of her left foot.Across the street, a small bird caught its attention. Delighted, the pup began to run over, but stopped just short of where the shade of the tent met the bright midday sunlight. It let out a little whine before turning and ducking into the shadow of the upright kettle. It disappeared completely, until it reappeared on the other side of the street from the shadow of the tree. The sparrow flitted away, leaving the pup to pace in circles and sniff for something else to chase."You might want to go get it," Laurel remarked, partially amused and partially apologetic. Then she turned to Alex, who had been waiting quite patiently. The girl was going through the perfumes. "I'll take the stone and the flower," she said, holding out her hand.
hedwig68 • 16 July 2012 at 12:25 AM
Alex was surprised that he new companion had alread been created. When Laurel held out her hand for the stuff she had already chosen she willingly handed them over, she then turned back to the perfumes. She picked one up that smelled like vanilla and she smelled it. Alex shook her head, she had never been the fondest of the smell of vanilla. She then picked up the one that smelled like mint and she sniffed it. She smiled as the clear and nice scent drifted up her nose and she turned to Laurel. @silver_winged

@hedwig68Happy to be working so efficiently, Laurel took the malachite stone and the prairie smoke flower and tossed them in one at a time. Then she took the bottle of mint perfume from Alex and squeezed two droplets into the kettle. "Last thing you have to do is pick one of these," she instructed, glancing down at the wooden case. While Alex made her choice, Laurel glanced around, trying to remember whose turn it was next.@buubles1688 @taunter @cqpkytty
hedwig68 • 16 July 2012 at 12:38 AM
Alex put the bottle of mint back into place and then she began to search through the woodenly case until she picked up a tuft of super soft fur. It was so soft on her finger tips that she just wanted to hold onto it forever but she reluctantly handed it to Laurel. She then pulled out a piece of her red and black hair and handed it to Laurel along with the fur.@silver_winged

"It's...adorable." Elly had blinked when the puppy set it's paw onto her foot. She was so caught up in mooning over her new companion, that she totally forgot about the fact that the puppy was an actual magical being, and almost fell over in shock as it telaported from the shadows. "The cute dog is ceberus!" the shocked girl exclaimed rather loudly. A short pause quickly followed the statement. "...Wait, Ceberus has three heads..." Elly facepalmed at her own stupidity, and quickly gave chase to the black puppy. She caught up to it on the other side of the street, where it was standing in the shadow of a trash can, pawing and sniffing at the barrel, probably wondering what kinds of food was making the smells that drifted out of it.

@silver_winged @taffy789Affremo turned it head to the puppy. Dylan's eyes followed its gaze and rested on the creature. A flicker of recognition lighted in his eyes. "Is that a hellhound?" He mused. Then he shook his head in amusement, the puppy looked too cute to be a blood thirsty beast.Excited, Affremo screeched at the dog and expanded its small wings. The gryphon started flapping its wings as it tried to claw its way out of Dylan's arms and towards the puppy. Dylan gritted his teeth with pain as Affremo's claws and talons sunk onto his flesh. He released his new companion and the gryphon glided onto the concrete ground, though it landed roughly with a hard thump. The eager animal stood unsteadily onto its feet as it took a few cautious steps towards the canine.

@silver_winged sorry!! Do you mind if Hazel can be with you
silver_winged • 16 July 2012 at 1:52 PM
@hedwig68 @wolfmilk@buubles1688 Okay, I'll just pretend that your last post didn't happen and that Hazel is still at the table.-Laurel took the fur and the hair from Alex, adding them slowly to the kettle one after the other. As the fur made contact with the mixture, the kettle produced a kind of low rumbling noise. The smell of wet earth, like the forest after a storm, drifted out of it. Laurel stirred the mixture three times clockwise, flipped the kettle over, and then counted to ten. She shot a questioning glance at the dirt under their feet before seeming to decide that it would do just fine. Then, she lifted the kettle to reveal Alex's creature. The furry creature was small enough to hold in both hands. It was built like a mountain lion, with a roughly triangular head and rounded ears. Its bright feline eyes were green and banded, just like the malachite stone. Its fur was thick, tan-brown and just as soft as the original tuft that Alex had chosen. Its fur was marked with little flecks of black, though the front of its muzzle was soft cream-white (especially against its pink nose.) The cub let out a meow, slightly scratchier than that of a house cat, and began to sniff the air around it.-c

Laurel paused to laugh a little at Elly and Dylan. "Nope, not a hellhound," she replied brightly. "Shadow magic and death magic are two very different beasts. Hellhounds also have an auxiliary fire affiliation." Time to move on to the next one, she decided, glancing around. The closest person she found was a young-looking brown-haired girl. Perhaps a bit too young? "Excuse me," she asked, "how old are you?"
hedwig68 • 16 July 2012 at 2:27 PM
Alex watches Laurel work her magic and she glanced at the the ground when Laurel did. When Laurel was done Alex looked into the pot and saw the little cub. Her heart nearly melted when she saw it and she leaned forward and picked the little cub up. The cub's fur was as soft as the fur Alex has chosen and she held it close to her. She smiled at the little cub as it leaped out of her hands and began to explore the little shop. She turned to Laurel and said, "Thank you," before she followed the little cub as it explored. She wondered what she should name the rambunctious cub and Alex quickly realized that it was a male. Many names enters her mind but none of them seemed fitting for the cub.

As Elly arrived, the puppy barked happily and ran up to her, clearly wanting attention. Elly laughed, and, apron realizing it was a boy, started to think of appriorate names for him. Max, Spike, Rusty-No, she didn't want such a common name for such a unique animal... "Your name shall be Cerberus." Elly grinned down at her new dog, only to find that Cerberus had noticed the Gryphon, and had bounded up it, barking and wanting to chase the "bird". Elly laughed, and stood up. She should really thank Laurel for her new creature...Oh. She quickly remembered something, and walked back to the shade of the tent, to watch her puppy play from there.
buubles1688 • 16 July 2012 at 4:59 PM
@silver_winged@hedwig68~~~~~~~~~~Hazel watched "the witch" do her magic. Hazel always loved animals so she walked to the back of the line, wondering,"I wonder what my stone would hatch into." She looked in front of her and she saw one more person. But also, she looked at a girl and Laurel. She was amazed of what Laurel could do. I believe her name is Alex...or is it Alexandra? Hazel was too anxious to worry about that. She just wanted to see what it would hatch into!
hedwig68 • 16 July 2012 at 5:26 PM
@buubles1688Alex looked down at the little cub and she continued to think up a name. Alex had been learning Arabic at school and she finally chose the name Haidar, it meant lion in Arabic. She smiled as Haidar rubbed against her legs and she leaned down to pet him. She smiled as he made a rumbling noise of delight, she guessed that Haidar was purring as she pet him. Haidar then noticed a girl with short brown hair and he walked over to her curiously. He looked up at her with his bright green eyes and he cocked his head to the left.
silver_winged • 17 July 2012 at 11:37 PM
@buubles1688The girl wasn't responding. With a strained smile, she pressed again, "Excuse me? Miss?" This was accompanied with a slight wave of the hand. "I need to know how old you are."

@buubles1688Laurel shook her head apologetically. "Sorry. It'd be against guild regulations if I served you," she explained. "I'm afraid you're just going to have to wait until next time.""So!" Laurel announced. "Who's next?" The crowd seemed to have thinned out for the moment.@akira @cqpkytty

silver_winged • 18 July 2012 at 5:52 PM
@buubles1688 Just use a different character.
buubles1688 • 18 July 2012 at 5:55 PM
@silver_winged I'll just change her to be 14?
silver_winged • 18 July 2012 at 5:55 PM
@buubles1688 I would seriously prefer if you just made an entirely new character. Abandoned by parents/orphaned/raised self has to be my absolute least favorite character cliche.

As Laurel was busy talking to the young girl, Elly pulled out the stones she'd had put into her pocket and quietly slipped them back into the bowl without being noticed, to settle the guilt. She then quickly eased away from the tent, back to Cerberus, wanting to play with her new shadow puppy. Elly started to think about how she should really thank Laurel for Cerberus.
