"So... you can feel things?" Irascible asked. He loved climbing trees too. To feel the wind in his fur, breathing in all the wonderful scents the world had to offer...

Winter nodded, "I can feel things like the wind in my fur and I can smell all the wonderful scents of the world, I just don't feel emotion when I do. Most foxes are happy when they feel that wind pulling at their fur, I don't feel any emotion." She said slowly.

Winter then slowly walked up to the tree and dug her claws into the bark. She hauled herself up the free quickly and managed to get to one of the lowest branches.

Irascible followed her up the tree on the other side and kept on going.He started to feel the wind in his fur, and as he went higher he saw a squirrel run into a hole.

Winter gently lifted herself up each of the branches until she reached the top of the tree. She stared out at the vast forest, watching the wind gently cause the trees to sway gently and she felt....absolutely nothing.

Irascible pulled himself up to sit on the branch next to Winter. He looked out into the forest and smiled. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" He said, looking at prey drinking from the streams, and then scurrying back to their nests.

Irascible tore his gaze away from the forest and looked at Winter. "You... you really just see it as another part of earth? Just... just a piece of the forest you would naturally see everyday?" He asked.
Irascible felt a pinch of sympathy for the fox.
Since she can't feel... she doesn't really know how beautiful this is.. He thought.

"It's not JUST a bunch of different colors thought," Irascible pointed out, pointing at birds flying away, "see? The birds are flying away to a place that's warmer. They look so pretty and confident, all together in a group like that.."

Winter stared at the birds and said, "No, I don't see that. I just see bunch of flying birds, nothing special." She said, she shook her head and looked away from the birds so that she could look at Irascible in the eye. Her gaze was unreadavle and neautral.

Irascible looked at her, into her eyes. He... couldn't see anything. Nothing but the color her eyes were. He wondered what she thought of his eyes actually carrying feelings inside them.

Winter looked past Irascible at the bright blue sky behind him. She stared at it for a long time, almost as if she were waiting for some sort of emotion to overcome her, but of course nothing came.

Hey.. what's dialect? *Makes stupid face* I hate to know what it means for geography, and I want to make sure I really know it.

Irascible noticed Winter looking behind him. He turned around and saw nothing but the sky. He breathed in deeply and breathed out as he looked back at the forest.
How can she not see how amazingly beautiful and different nature is from the rest of the world? Irascible thought as he remembered stumbling upon humans at one point in his life.

And dialect is a distinct variety of a language that differs from the standard language, especially when considered as substandard.

Winter just stared at the landscape before her, she didn't seem to realize that Irascible was still there. She seemed to be trying to find a bit of beauty in the landscape, but she was unable to.

Irascible looked over at Winter and wondered why she was staring at the scenery for so long. Did she finally see beauty in it?
I doubt it, he thought. She still has that same, expressionless face.

Winter stared out into the forest for a moment before she noticed that Irascible had jumped down from the tree too. She hadn't thoight that he'd follow her, she wondered why he was still hanging out with her. She would have thought he'd be creeped out by her strange looking of the world and want to leave. She just shrugged and asked him, "What do you want to do now then?"

Winter nodded, "Ok, let's go." She got to her feet and sniffed the air. She caught then scent of a squirrel and she began to follow the scent, her footsteps were soundless. She finally saw the squirrel and she slowly stalked forward she then launched her body forward and when she landed she could feel the soft pelt of the squirrel under her claws.

Irascible sniffed around and saw a rabbit. He crouched, and began stalking it. His paw steps made hardly any noise until he accidentally stepped on a twig. The rabbit pricked it's head up and jumped away.
Irascible snorted in irritation.

Winter carried the the squirrel over to Irascible. She watched him snort in irritation and she stepped forward, dropping the squirrel at his paws. "Here, you can have this, I'll catch another." She said shrugging, she then began to search for the scent of prey.

Irascible looked down at the squirrel, and then up at Winter. "No, it's alright." He said. "I can catch my own prey- I just got unlucky." He picked up the squirrel and walked to Winter.

Winter shrugged, "Whatever." She said, she then gently took the squirrel back and began to eat it. While she ate the squirrel she looked up at Irascible and waited to watch him hunt.
