Alex heard a noise behind her and she turned to see sow one standing in front of her cage. Before she knew it her cage was being opened and someone reached in and grabbed her. Alex growled and took the chance, she leaped forward and landed on the ground. She then ran as fast as she could out he opening door and she was on the streets. She howled in triumphant and then she took off down the street, running.

Zuta was outside with Melissa.

Ruby saw a Lupe as it came out of the Pound, howling in joy. She chuckled and felt happy for the Lupe that had escaped. She then heard a familiar scream, the one of her pesky sister callin her name. She sighed and saw Melissa with Zuta and the Eyrie, "Time to go home Ruby, it's getting a bit dark." said her owner, smiling. Ruby nodded and followed her.

Dratin was in a farther part of the Neopian Central. He sighed and managed to find his way back home, hungry.

"It's alright, no harm done." Kayla smiled at Ruby but frowns suddenly, her eyes glazed. "You will do good in avoiding the Bori, he stole something from you earlier... How curious, his faite is unexplicably tied to yours...how odd." Kayla blinks, her eyes return to their normal shade of purple. "I'm sorry, did you say something?"

Nina was back behind the food shop in Neopian Central. She found a borrito and ate a little of it, but not all of it. She wasnt really hungry after a near death experiance.

Alex stopped and she looked around, "I am starving." She realized and then she headed of in search of food. She knew that life on the streets would be hard and she would have to steal to keep herself alive, but for now she would just rummage through trash for food. She saw a trashcan and she tipped it over and began to rummage through it until she found some Grapes. They smelled rlterrible but she ate them, pulling a face as she did.

Ruby turned at the Lupe and gave a sign to Melissa that she would come back home shortly. Melissa nodded and walked back home with Zuta and the Eyrie. "Really?! Great, do you know what it was?" she asked, "Urm, I just said sorry for bumping into you." she said, a bit confused by the sudden change of eye colour from the Lupe.

Dratin ate some pastries before hiding them again and walking back to the city. Some shops where already closed and not many people where on the streets at this time, but there a bit more guards, but mostly in the Marketplace, a place that Dratin always avoided for the large number of police, guards and people. He then searched in the garbages and in the forgotten bags that some careless people left.

Kayla blink, rather startled. " I'm sorry, what?" She began to sweat slightly. "No please don't tell me I just Saw something and blabbed to her!," Kayla feverantly hoped to herself. "I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about." She looked at the sky; night was falling; the pound hunters would come in swarms soon. " Umm, I don't know, a necklace? I really have to go now." Kayla briskly walked away, hoping to reach a safe place to spend the night soon.

Alex finished the Grapes and she continued on her way. She walked until she became tired and she saw a Darigan Bori not to far ahead looking through trashcans. She slowed and wondered if the he was friendly or not.

"Urm, ok. Thanks. How about you stay with me for a while? We could just stay, not long! I could take you to the nice coffee shop in the corner." Ruby said.

Snecking behind the closed shops, Dratin was searching for a gap or an openin so he could get inside a shop. After a few minutes of searching, he finally found an open window that led to the underground level of a grocery. He chuckled and jumped. The landing was a bit ruff, but he arrived in paradise. Boxes filled with food where all at his mercy. But most of it was wasted or rotten, but Dratin did not care. He filled up his bag as much as possible before leaving the shop. It was night.

Zuta and Melissa had arrived home. Zuta had nothing to do, so she was in her room. She wondered what she could do to make the time pass by. She would usually pester her sister, but she was not there.

Kayla turned hesitantly. 'I probably shouldn't, she mused to herself, "the hunters..." Yet the look on the girls face look a bit hopeful, Kayla couldn't bring herself to say no. "Alright, let's go! By the way, I never caught your name."

Nina ran toword a small abandoned shack. She quickly walked inside, there where Neopoints, and many other shiny items in there. "Home sweet home" She whispered to herself. She curled up on a light red pillow and looked at the empty one next to her. It was light blue, it was where her sister had slept before.... She cut the thought out of her mind.

Ruby smiled, "Thanks. My name is Ruby, whats yours?" she asked, walking towards the cafe. There were no guards at this time. "Hello Ruby! How are you today?" said the shopkeeper, a blue Kacheek, "I am very good Mr.Turl. I brought a friend as you see. What is you name?" she asked Kayla.

Dratin then sat near a fountain. He looked around and saw a red Lupe near the garbages.

"Kayla. Kayla Moonsword." Kayla muttered selfconciously. She glanced at Ruby, a small vision demanding to show itself to her. She ignored it, her visions were at times rather random bits of stories that sheldom made sense. Kayla smoothed her skirt, it had gotten rumpled during the chase with the Bori thief.

Alex realized that the Bori had spotted her and she backed up slowly, afraid of what he might do. She hoped henwouldnt attack her because she knew that she stood no chance against him.

Dratin got up and walked over to the Lupe. He grinned and looked around, seeing that their was barely no one in sight. 'I could use a bit of fighting practice' he thought.

"Kayla. Thats a nice name!" Ruby chuckled. Mr.Turl then gave the menus to the duo. "You know I don't need a menu! You know what I'm going to take." Ruby chuckled, smiling, "Of course! One Hot Fudge Sundae coming up. And tell me when your friend is ready to order." the shopkeeper chuckled, walking into the kitchen. Ruby looked at Kayla, "Tell me if you need help choosing." she said, smiling.

"I'll just have a borovan, please." She said to the shopkeeper as he left. Kayla turned to Ruby, smiling. "Now, why don't you tell me a bit about yourself?' Her mind wandered to the Bori from before, wondering what he had to do with a girl like Ruby.

Alex began to back up, she whimpered as the Bori came closer. She couldn't seem to get herself to run though, she was shaking in fear and she just continued to back up.

"Ok! One borovan coming up! I will be back in a few minutes!" said the Kacheek from his kitchen.

"Well, I am a rich Neopet and I live with my owner, Melissa, my sister, Zuta and an Eyrie by the name of Goro. I'm usually suppose to be back home by now, but I am able to be in the city at night, I've done it many times before. And my owner trusts me much more than my sister." Ruby chuckled, "And what about you?" she said.

Zuta was looking by the window. She wished she could go out into the city, but why would she dirty her paws right now? She sighed and walked downstairs, since Melissa called her for dinner.

"Whats the matter? Afraid of a Bori?" Dratin chuckled. He was surprised at how a Neopet bigger than him was more afraid of him. But the difference of size was not so big. He then chuckled and jumped on her, biting her back.

Nina pricked her ears and hear something. Paws. She had exreamly sharp hearing at a young age, it comes in handy. She quickly got up and ran towords Neopia Central. Just in time to see a Bori and a Lupe about to fight. She wanted to do something, but she waited to see what would happen.

Alex howled in pain and pain seared in her back. She bucked him off her back and she tried to ignore the pain in her back. She didn't answer his question.

Kayla hesitated, not really ready to admit the terrible past she'd been trying to avoid speaking of. "I was born outside of Neopia Central, in the Shattered Plains, to be exact. I was...brougth here to the city at a young age, where I meet my husband. We traveled around for a few years with a band of gypsies and our owner, tecnically his, she simply took pity on me. We got married and had our 4 kids. Two boys and two girls. And we just recently moved back here.' Kayla finished with a slightly strained smile. She hadn't necessarily lied about anything, she'd only withheld certain bits of information.

Dratin rolled on the floor. He then got back up and hissed at Alex. He then ran towards her and jumped over her, did a flip and claw her side. He completely ignored the Gelert that had just arrived.

"Oh, I see. You must be happy to have such a nice family, I'm still too young." Ruby chuckled, Then the shopkeeper came with the plates, "Here you go girls, enjoy!" he said, smiling. Ruby smiled and started eating her sundae.

Not standing to take anymore of this, she pounced forword between the two. "Stop! Gosh, when will Neopets stop being so imature?! I am most likely younger than you both and I have more sence then to fight another over nothing!" Nina growled. She glared at them both for a moment.

Alex whimpered, it wasn't like she had ever had time to sharpen her fighting skills in a cage or while living with Christa. She felt firey hot pain in her side and she tried to limp away from the Bori. She heard the Gelert speak, "Does it look like I want to fight with him?" She asked irritably, her voice rude as she was criticized.

Dratin stared at Nina for a long while. He hissed at her, "Whats the matter?! This is not YOUR business, so stay OUT of it!" he said. He then turned to Alex, "You were lucky this time.." he said before running in the darkness of the forest.

Alex had gone from vulnerable to rude and mean quickly. She glared after the Bori, "Just some stupid pest looking for a fight." She looked at the Gelert and she just godless before running away, once again in search of food.

Kayla smiled at Ruby, letting her cup of borovan warm her hands. "You'll live a very happy life, trust me. After all, it's practically written all over your face." She couldn't help but think of the bori; what did he have to do with a girl like Ruby?

"Haha, thanks. Are you enjoying your Borovan?" Ruby chuckled, smiling. She looked at hr watch, "Welp, I need to get home in around 2 hours, no rush, no?" she said, looking at the Lupe, "hey, whats on your mind?" she asked.

Dratin kept running until he arrived home. He then saw a small and skinny blue Kougra eating some of his pastries, "HEY!" he growled, jumping on the Kougra and killing it on the spot. he licked his claws and hid the body. He then put his pastries in a deeper hole before going to sleep.
