Kayla nervously bit her lip, not wanting to admit the truth; to say it out loud would be to admit the awful event. "Nothing," she lied, "I'm just thinking about that Bori earlier. He reminds me of someone I knew." She took a sip of her now lukewarm borovan. "He reminds me of one of my husbands' old comrades. From the Meridell-Darigan wars."

"Ok. I think my owner knows her , but I'm NOT sure." Zuta sighed, shaking her paws, "And what are doing here?" she asked.

"Well, I gain respect and I practice, and pleasure too." Dratin chuckled, "Unless you want to be my partner. If not, I can remain your enemy. A dangerous one too." he chuckled, sitting down.

Alex sat down and glared at him, "What kind of partner?" She asked through narrowed eyes and she was tense in case he attacked again.

"You know, like a partner in crime. Usually I don't this, but with some practice, your name will be feared EVERYWHERE, trust me. I have escaped around 7 months ago and I'm already feared by many street Neopets. Now, you could be my partner. We would steal together, escape from guards, share the same home, mark out territory. I could also try and get you painted to give a more... menacing look. Unless you want to stay like this." Dratin said, looking at his claws.

"Ah, I see." Zuta groaned, "Yeah sure, whatever. Put she's currently glued to her work chair right now, so you might have to wait in a few hours or tomorrow." she sighed.

"Hm, interesting. But I did not even know him. He just came out of the blue and somehow was able to take my necklace." Ruby sighed.

"Fine, whatever." Zuta growled, walking back home. She then jumped on her bed and started brushing her fur.

"Haha, I knew you would accept. A smart Neopet like you would never decline that offer." Dratin chuckled, "Now come, I shall steal a bit and we will begin training tommorrow night. I need to see what you need to practice." he said, walking behind the cafe shop. "This place is the JACKPOT. There are no cameras, since the only person that takes care of this place is a old Kacheek." he chuckled, quietly removing the broken window. He then jumped down and landed in the storage.

"Hm, interesting. I did not even know him. He just came out of the blue and somehow was able to take my necklace." Ruby sighed.

Jinx turned and walked back through the streets, thinking of living with Emily again, in her nice, cozy house. He trotted up to a dumpter, where he could sleep for the night. 'I guess I'll have to sleep here tonight. . .' He thought as he wrapped his tail around his paws, and closed his eyes.

Alex smiled and she watched him carefully. She wanted to meant as much as she could so that she could become a mater thief like the Bori, "Wait I never learned your name, I'm Alex." She said and then she fell silent and she followed him through the window.

Kayla nodded, glad she had managed to trick Ruby. No one had to know about her problems, herself included. "He's a thief, they're smiling con artists who pat you on the back with one hand and steal your wallet with the other." Kayla finished her borovan and glanced outside. "It's rather late, won't your owner wonder where you are?" Her mind was aready forming a plan to attract the bori.

Zuta streched her legs before going to sleep.

"Yes, yes they do. I had a friend who was almost killed by a thief." Ruby sighed. She then looked at her watch, "Theres nothing to worry about." she chuckled. Mr.Turl then arrived with the pay check, "That would be... 5637 Neopoints please." he said, smiling, "Here you go." Ruby said, handing him the money.

"Names Dratin. Nice to meet you Alex." Dratin said, smiling as he took a potato bag and filled it with snack bars, apples and other things, "Here, take this bag." he said, passing her a bag while he filled another one, "Lets go." he said, climbing out the window.

Kayla nodded, and as she did so a small silver locket fell from her neck. The locket fell, opening as it hit the ground. "Oh, darn it! The chain must have broken again! This thing just loves to break." A small photo was there; a tall Darigan lupe and Kayla holding 4 tiny lupe pups. Kayla frowned slighlty at it. They were gone, all 5 of them had slaughtered in a fierce attack; she'd had been the only survivor.

"Follow me." Dratin said, running towards his home. Luckily, there were almost no guards on the way there. He then padded over to his 'nest'. His room was inside a car, with a roof. There was an image of him as a child. His bed was an old mattress, "You can sleep on the front seats." Dratin said, ripping the soft matter and making a pile. "Or we can return to the city. It's safer at night. We just come see to dig hole so we can put our food." he said, taking out a few apples from the bag and giving a few to Alex.

"Oh, I think I have a few spared silver chains in my house. I could give you one tomorrow if you want." Ruby said, looking at the pictures in the necklace.

Alex ate the apples quickly and she nodded, "M'kay." The food tasted delicious, especially since her stomach was empty. She looked at the photo and she cocked her head, "Is this you when you were younger?"

Dratin sighed and walked over to the picture. You could see that he was looking at someone, but the other part of the photo had been ripped off, "Yes." he sighed, removing the images and ripping it to pieces. "So, what do you want to do? I suggest we have fun in the city, because at this time, nobody is out and guards are rarer." he said, eating an apple.

"Oh, I see. They are adorable." Ruby chuckled.

Alex wondered why he had ripped up the picture, she had liked it. She thought for a moment, "Yeah, let's go play." She smiled deviously and finished the last of the apples he had jus given her.

Dratin thought for a while, when he took out a list, "Here, I have a list of all the Neopet colours possible. I've got the Lupe. If we were to paint you, I would suggest taking Mutant, but we need a potion. But for others, we could take Darigan, Shadow or Tyrannian." he suggested.

"Is their one you would prefer? Getting Darigan would be the hardest, but Tyrannian and Shadow would be easy. Getting a mutan Lupe Morphing potion won't be easy but not too hard."

Kayla snapped the locket shut and stuffed it into her pocket. "Oh well, I'll fix it later. Let's go for a walk in the park, shall we? Then I'll walk you home." She could see it was incredibely dark outside, surely Ruby's owner was worried.

Dratin the saw Ruby leave the shop and walk towards the parc. He heard what they had said, "Let's wait till the Xweetok is alone." he said to Alex.
