Shadow akwardly stood up, and limped over to Tusami.

"No Shadow." I mutter as I stand up. "Leave me alone." I growl as I stand up. I leap up into the air and flew away.

"Fine!" Shadow shreiked, starting to cry, "Abandon me and Equestria again, like you always do! I don't need you! I have Painting Scars. I couldn't care less that you're going to leave me again. I couldn't care less that I spent weeks searching for you, all for nothing, 'cuz you're leaving again. I. Don't. Care! I don't love you anymore, 'cuz all you do is hurt me!"

Shadow sobbed, and limped back to Painting Scars, unable to bottle her emotions anymore.

"I'm going home," Shadow said, "I don't care what happens to Equestria anymore, I'm done. I can't do this anymore. I thought I could trust Tusami, but obviously, that's not the case, 'cuz she's leaving me all by myself again."

Shadow started limping towards Ponyville, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I'm just a filly, and nopony seems to understand that. I... I thought Tusami cared..." she murmured, her voice cracking with pain. She still didn't get why Tusami suddenly hated her. Did Shadow do soemthing wrong? Because Shadow noticed that most ponies thought so.

"I don't belong anywhere. Nopony cares anymore... Why?" Shadow cried softly, hanging her head as she limped, "Why does nopony care? Why doesn't Tusami care?"

A tear streamed down my face as the filly limped away. I picked her up with my magic, and regardless of what she would say, healed her leg. "I was just like you you know." I say. I continue walking, as I set her on my back so she could relax, and let off some stress. "People who would help me, and then ditch me. You heard stories about me and my past I'm guessing?" I turn my head to the filly.

Shadow shook her head, not bothering to coplain about her leg. "Do you know why nopony cares?" she asked quietly, tears still running down her cheeks, "Do you know why nopony understands the pain?"

I nod. "I do." I continue walking. "Nopony cares because nopony thinks your special. Not even the royals." I say, remembering how my sisters left me to die with Chrysalis. "Nopony understands the pain because nopony is you. Nopony is as special and wonderful as you."

Shadow nodded. "But how come the ponies who you love don't care?" Shadow asked, confused, "Why don't they care? If they love you, why do they leave you or hurt you?"

I sigh. "I wondered that too. When my sisters didn't save me..." I look down. A tear fell. "I said, 'If they love me, why are they not saving me? Why are they not trying to save me?' I cried. I did all sorts of things. Then I realized, life is ruff. Pain, Pain hurts. But, you got to get over it. I went to my sisters as soon as I was free." I sigh again. "They said I was everything to them. I knew that was a lie. They said, we are sorry for not trying to save you. I knew that they didn't love me." I went silent. "I ended up in the same state as you. Scared. Alone. Unsure. Full of Questions. I then stood up. And walked out of Canterlot. I haven't returned since. I don't know why they thought of hurting me. Leaving me. I haven't figured that out yet."

Shadow nodded, tears dripping siletly down her cheeks. "I'm sorry." Was all she said before falling awfully silent, wrapped up in cold, bitter feelings.

"I'm sorry." I say, and I stop. I walk into a cave, and illuminate it. It has chairs, a bed, and other household items. I set Shadow on a bed, and wrap a blanket around her. I curl up around her, and pet her head. "It'll be ok." I say, sing a soft lullaby.

Shadow fell asleep, and had troublesome dreams. Everypony was always leaving. Shadow didn't have one constant. No parents, nopony was there. Always coming and going. Shadow sighed.

I finished the lullaby, and kissed her head. I got up slowly, and walked over to the kitchen, and started cooking.

The last notes of the lullaby sat in Shadow's head, slowly changing the dream into a happy one, where everypony stayed. Where everypony loved each other. Great love and joy swelled in Shadow's heart, though she knew that she must wake at some point. She bathed in the light of happiness, drinking it in.

I walked over to the little stone table, and set 2 mugs down. I filled them each with hot chocolate, then walked over to the counter again. I grabbed a plate of cookies, and a couple sandwiches.

Shadow rejoyced in her dream. Who needed Tusami when she had Painting Scars and her other friends anyways?

Shadow woke up, and then the wall of saddness hit again; but Shadow did her best to hide it.

I continued setting the table. I brought a pie to the table, and smiled happily. "Good Morning Shadow." I say, trotting to the kitchen.

"Uh... Morning." Shadow said quietly, "Look, I'd love to stay... But... there's something I need to do." Shadow started for the mouth of the cave, feeling a bit akward.

"Be careful." I say, then remember something. I pop up next to Shadow. "Take this." I put a necklace around her neck, and it has a wolf pendant hanging from the bottom. "Here. This is special. Take care. I love you Shadow."

"Kay. Thanks." Shadow murmured, cheeks flushing. She trotted off to her little shack in the woods. "I will live here still... I'll visit Painting Scars, and I will be happy." Shadow told herself, before trotting off to Tusami's castle. "I will never return here. It only holds saddness and harsh, bitter feelings." Shadow growled, "Goodbye, Tusami." Shadow finished, hard feelings in her heart, and she meant it.

I trotted away, and visited an old cave. I silently oooed into the dark. Red eyes appeared around me. "Welcome back child."

Shadow cantered back to Painting Scars' cave, eager to fill herself up with good feelings. But Painting Scars was gone. Worried, Shadow looked around outside.

"Now have what you want with me." I say. Now that I knew Shadow was safe, they were going to close their end of the deal. "We just want you as one of us." A wolf crawls out, and turns into a pony. "Do as you wish." I say, and the pony turns back into a wolf, and bites my neck. I hold back a tear, and stand up tall as he pulls back. "Perfect." He smiles. "Now leave, and never return!" He screams, and I run out of the cave, back to mine.
