I sigh. "Well... I was bit by one." I show Shadow the marks on my neck. "I-I don't know what to do now Shadow..."

Fear crossed over Shadow's face, but it quickly disapeared as Shadow reined in her emotions. "We go home, that's what we do." Shadow smiled brightly, convincingly, but she knew, deep down, that she would have to leave. Nopony could control themselves when they were a werepony. The smile didn't quite touch her eyes, but Shadow skipped ahead, trying to convince herself that she wouldn't have to lose another friend. Even if Painting Scars couldn't be in control, Shadow could still visit.

"I... I actually have experienced being a werepony, Shadow. I got the cure before a year of me being one." I smile. "I'm a rare kind of werepony. One that can control herself." I say, and trot up beside her. "I could never hurt you, Shadow."

Shadow sighed with relief, but said nothing. She... almost wanted to go home. But she couldn't, not when Painting Scars loved her so much. All the feelings Shadow ever had came rushing back, hittiing her like a tidal wave and stopping in her tracks. Pain and fear were the strongest, love and joy the weakest. Shadow gasped, feeling like she had taken a blow to the chest.

Shadow's pupils became awfully small. Without a word, she wriggled out of Painting Scars' grip and cantered away as fast as her hooves could take her. Where to? Her shack in the Everfree Forest.

"Sha-" I half get out, and I fall to the ground. Fur covers my body. My teeth extended, and my pupils dilate. My hooves turn into claws. My tail turns into blue and black fur. My wings extending, and my horn disappearing. I growl, and my eyes turn yellow. I stand up, and howl. I begin to pace after Shadow.

Shadow looks behind her. Fear corsed though her veins and she screamed, but she still cantered, and began to cry. "Why..." she repeated. She never understood how she was dealed this horrible hand. 'Life sucks.' she thought through her tears of fear. The feelings from before still washed through her mind, confusing her, but she continued to canter.

"CURSE YOU TUSAMI!!" Shadow shrieked, still sobbing.

I start to run, and bark once more. The filly meant everything to me. If I lost her... I take off into the sky, looking for Shadow, screaming her name.

Absolutly scared out of her wits, Shadow finally makes it to the Everfree Forest. She was shaking with fear and the hollow feeling of being utterly alone. Shadow trotted to her house, and went inside, bolting the door behind her.

Shadow went to her old bed. "I never thought I'd see this again." Shadow murmured in a hollow tone. She plopped down onto it and promptly fell asleep.

I see a small hut in the Everfree Forest. I land next to it, and turn back into a pony. I lay near the edge of it, and lay my head down, falling asleep.

Shadow woke when she heard a thud next to her shack. She stiffined, but sat still. If nopony could hear her, they wouldn't know she was there.

Shadow sat paralyzed in fear as she heard a quiet yawn. She was so dead this time. 'Doesn't matter anyways. I've got nothing to live for, as it stands.' Shadow thought glumly.

I stop humming at the sound of Shadows voice. "Shadow? It's Painting Scars."

Shadow thought a moment.

"Well," she spat, though she was shaking with fear, "I have something to live for, so if you and your werepony friends want to eat me, I'm not going down without a fight."

Shadow had a lot of things she wanted to do. Maybe get a happy ending, if that was possible, and fix things with Tusami. Those were the most important, but Shadow had a long bucket list. And she wasn't ginving up.

I looked at the hut with surprise. "I don't have any friends. Let alone werepony friends." I sigh. "Please Shadow, I wouldn't hurt you!"

Shadow un-bolted the door, and left her shack. "I have a few errands to run now." she said, her expression hard. "Somepony has some explaining to do." Shadow said coldly. "A few ponies, actually." she amended.

"Nope." Shadow said. "In fact, I'd rather go alone. I'm waayy overdue on my alone-time." She quipped sarcastically. Shadow was angry now. All those ponies who caused her pain were going to explain themselves, and SHadow wasn't going to sit and wait. No, she would find them. And wring their necks until they gave her answers.
