"I don't want to talk to anypony. I don't want help. I need nothing. I am not hungry." Shadow said quietly, the ceased speaking. The heavy feeling in her heart only grew, but Shadow said nothing about it. She wanted to deal with it alone. It was easier when nopony pestered you about what was wrong. It was easier alone.

Shadow continued to limp quietly, silently searching for her friend. Shadow would do anything, everything to get Tusami back. If not for Equestria, then for herself.

I cantered quietly. My thoughts drifted. I went to finding out about Dragon Born being evil. His love lifted my spirits. Now the sight of him killed me. I thought of running away from this world. Getting away from Equestria. I then got rid of the thought. Shadow needed me. I looked at the filly, then ahead again. My thoughts of Chrysalis took over, and I flinched from the thought.

Shadow followed as quickly as she could, barley keeping up up with Painting Scars, and the injured filly slowed as her thoughts wandered.

Nopony got her like Tusami did. Tusami understood why Shadow was closed-off, so reserved. Only two ponies knew those reasons; Shadow and Tusami. Tusami was Shadow's rock, the only constant in this crazy world. Without her, Shadow was without direction. Everything unravled and nothing made sense.

Nopony could even BEGIN to understand Shadow's connection, and how deep it went. Nopony could comprehend how much Shadow needed Tusami.

Now Tusami was gone, and Shadow was hollow.
Now Tusami was gone, and Equestria was doomed.

Shadow shivered at the thought.

I slowed for Shadow, and looked into the forest. Green eyes appeared, with red eyes right next to it. I stop, and stare at the green eyes. My heart shatters, and my mind stops. I sit on the grass, and fall to the ground, shaking, and silently freaking out.

Shadow stops, dead in her tracks. Paralyzed with fear, she sqeezes her eyes shut, wishing that for once, everything was okay. That this wasn't happening. That Tusami would tell her it was just a dream.

But it wasn't.

Now it looked like Painting Scars was convulsing on the ground, and Shadow was alone. Against her advasary. But this time, Shadow would not fail. Her green eyes burned with a firey fury as she crouched into a battle-stance, growling softly.

I shook back and forth, then heard Shadow growl. "No... Shadow... Please.." I plead, not wanting her to get the same treatment the green eyed pony gave me.

"Looky here Dragon Born!" The green eyed pony stepped out. "It's my old bud! Scars." She smirks devilishly. Dragon Born steps out. "And her friend, Shadow." His eyes flash.

I watched as Shadow tried to protect herself, but I could tell she was in fear. "No." I say weakly, standing up to Chrysalis and Dragon Born. "Don't..." I cringe. "Hurt her..." I stare at Chrysalis.

"Painting Scars, I got this." Shadow whispered, and stood tall in front of Chrysalis. "If you're here for Painting Scars, you have to go through me." Shadow snarled maliciously, her face contorted in anger.

"You two do nothing but hurt everypony, and it ends NOW." Shadow's tail flicked back and forth in anger as she continued, "Tusami may be gone, but that doesn't mean Equestria's doomed yet. Because I'm here to stop you now."

Chrysalis growls, and sends a burst of magic at you. Scars jumps in front of you, taking the blast. Dragon Born jumps in, and her tail flicks at the sight of him. "Get out of here." He growls, and her wound from Chrysalis glows. She screams, and falls to the ground again. "She is strong..." She whispers. "She will hurt you." Scars says, and her head falls to the floor.

"No. Pony. Hurts. My. FRIENDS!" Shadow shrieked, and leaped at the Changling Queen with all the ferociousity she had, kicking and biting. Her eyes filled with tears. Tusami should be here.

Shadow shook the thought away as she fought even harder, knowing if she lost, Equestria, and Painting Scars, would pay for it.

My chest throbbed painfully. I heard Chrysalis scream, "Retreat!" And I barely could open my eyes enough to see Chrysalis running, Shadow gasping for breath, and Dragon Born trying to cast a spell on Shadow. I use my magic, and he scurries away. My eyes close, and I feel a darkness surrounding my soul.

"That's right, run! You cowardly bullies!" Shadow crowed after them, and whirled back at Painting Scars.

"Shh... you'll be okay. You'll be okay." Shadow cooed softly, stroking Painting Scars' mane. "I told you I could handle it. You saw that, right? Those bullies ran away from me."

"Well then rest here." Shadow said, "I believe this is where we part ways, for now. Dragon Born and Chrysalis are probably on their way to Canterlot right now, and we haven't found Tusami yet." Shadow looked at Painting Scars with shining eyes.

"I love you." she whispered, and started to leave.

I smiled, and let a tear of joy fall down my cheek. I tried my magic again. A little farther, but nowhere close to enough. I tried to stand, and ended up just sitting up.

Shadow ran, forgetting about her injured leg. "Cr--" she maneged to start before her leg buckled, and she went tumbling.

"Gotta pick yerself up," she huffed, and stood, before trotting carefully forward.

"Donuts for a week, huh? Sounds nice!" Rosecake nodded,"Yeah, I paint. A lot of landscapes, still life, and portraits."

"So what's your cutie mark?" Stargazer asked, actually loud enough this time. "I can't see, my friends are in the way."

CloverThistle trotted up the stairs of the castle of nightmare moon. "My little pony, sweet little pony" She murrmered a tune she heard from a shaft through the palace. Her mind blank as her flank had been sence the dawn of time... And to think! She had been trapped under the castle so long, she thought blank flanks where natural!
After climbing up a long flight of stairs. She came to a door, one she had'nt seen for a milenium. Her breath quickened. CloverThistle smiled a little, her eyes shined with tears, her face red with joy. She galloped up the remaining steps and shoved the door open. The castle was lonley, no servants bustling about, trying to help princesses get ready for balls or birthdays or visits to local villages. She seen the vines growing through cracks in the purple walls. It looked like some time had passed. She looked back to the door "The ground of immortality, it has led me to belive it has only been a few days, but in reality, I have been gone thousands of years..." She told herself, in a somewhat mocking tone, her voice contained some of the old language of ponies.

I walk around the cottage adn sit near the far edge. "No one." I mutter to myself as I look towards where the cottage might be. "No one." I teleport to where I last found Dragon Born and wait. "He can help me. He HAS to."
