@chowchow2012
I read A LOT...

1. The Help- Kathryn Stockett (This one is long, but a very great story)

2. Little princes- Connor Grennan (This one is shorter, and doesn't take that long to read. Makes for an easy and great report)

3. The perks of being a wallflower- Stephen Chbosky (This one is very short, but is very moving)

4. Clockwork Angel- Cassandra Clare (the first in a series, kind of long- fantasy)

5. Paper Towns- John Green (Note: Maturity Needed to read this. Not that long)

6. The Book Thief- Markus Zusak (My favourite of all of the listed novels. Long, but absolutely amazing and brilliantly written, hard to understand at first, but all will make sense)

7. Inkheart- Cornelia Funke (I'm sure you've heard of this one)

8. Maus- Art Speigelman (This one is a graphic novel, so is the shortest of all of the above. Deals with the holocaust.)

9. Jeremy Fink and the meaning of life- Wendy Mass (Easiest of the above novels to read, more of a pleasure book, not really serious)

10. The outsiders- S. E. Hinton (Classic! Short novel, but very serious and somewhat moving)

11. Lord of the rings- J. R. Tolkein (Classic! Outstanding novel and movie)

12. My mother the cheerleader- Robert Sharenow (Interesting story)

13. THE GLASS CASTLE- JEANETTE WALLS (THE MOST AMAZING NON-FICTION BOOK YOU WILL EVER READ! It has my recommendation at 100%. It is an amazing, funny and serious true story.)

Today at English class, we went to the library for a new reading project. Each class is assigned to pick out either a Survival Fiction book, or a Historical Fiction book. 3 Purple Team classes got survival, while the other three Purple Team classes (including my class) have to pick out a Historical Fiction book. The librarian showed us a bunch of books, and then showed us a cart where all the Historical Fiction books are.

Anyways, I picked out a book called Witch Child. The author is a woman named Celia Rees. I've haven't started reading the book yet, but I'm going to start reading it tonight. It looks like a really good book. 😊

It takes place during the Salem Witch Hunt. A 14-year-old girl named Mary needs to flee from the witch hunts in England after her grandmother is accused of witchcraft and executed. She needs to keep running from the Puritans to save her own life, and settle in an american colony. The book is written in first-person point of view, and it's formatted like a diary. I'm really excited to start it. I'll give you guys a review when I'm finished. 😃

Here's a few books that I like:

1. Travel Team by Mike Lupica (realistic fiction)
I just started but so far its pretty good.

2. Eleven Birthdays by Wendy Mass (fantasy)
Just saying, I like most of Wendy Mass' books xD

3. Every Soul A Star by Wendy Mass (realistic fiction)
I really liked this book, don't want to spoil anything though xD

4. A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass (realistic fiction)
Either this or Every Soul A Star is my favorite Wendy Mass book, you should check these out 😊

5. Once Upon a Marigold by Jean Ferris (fantasy)
Read this book for summer reading, I think its cute and funny 😋

6. Flush by Carl Hiaasen (realistic fiction I think)
It was pretty good, in general I think its about family relationships.

Most of these books are books I've already read xD Wow I like fantasy and realistic fiction 😋
But anyways I think these books are all great.

@dreamer
I loved that book! I also loved Pirates! by the same author.
It's historical fiction, about a girl who flees an arranges marriage by joining a pirate crew with her friend.
It's also based off of the true story of female pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read.
