I really don't understand the difference between views and clicks. Could someone explain this to me?

When posting your eggs on facebook, do you get views or clicks when they go to your pet?

Thanks. Sorry, I'm new here.

I believe views are what our critters get whenever someone wonders onto a page with our critter on it. Clicks are when someone actually clicks our critter. But don't take my word for it xD

@immortalraven

Ah, okay. So if I were to go to your profile, for example, and scroll down your pet list, your pets would all get +1 view?

@jmt_1992
If somebody clicks on your pets picture or is somehow directed to your Pet's page (like when people post link) that's a click. But views are just when your pet shows up on any page where people can view it. Like if it's in a trade, or when someone sees your cove, or your featured when you post things on the forums.

Thank you. 😊
What is the difference between the two types of URLs? If someone clicks on the URL that says "egg" instead of "click" does your pet still get a click?

Deleted • 2 January 2013 at 6:08 AM

@jmt_1992
I always thought it would if you put a url with 'egg' or 'click', but I think you have to put 'click'.

Was going to ask this also. Hope jrock is right. It's important to know the difference to get them to evolve. If I am reading this right, they need different things. When you click "Show Numbers To Next Evolution" ; not only are the numbers different for each one, they are in different columns (Feeds, Clicks and even Views).

If you don't know what I am talking about yet, click on your Cove and then look at the Sorting Options just above the eggs.

My flower egg (Floicol) doesn't have a number next to it, does anybody know if that one doesn't evolve or is it just a surprise when that one will?

@jmt_1992 As said earlier, views are counted when you visit a page with a creature on. You can only view a creature ONCE per day from ONE IP ADDRESS (i.e. using the same interneet connection), no matter how many times you refresh 😉

When you click a creature, their URL is http://eggcave.com/click/CREATURE-ID. However, when your click is counted, it automatically changes the /click/ to /egg/. Make sure to link the /click/ URL 😊

This is all included in the 'Increasing Stats' section of the FAQ: http://eggcave.com/explore/faq

@falwaeth Pinging you so you understand as well :]

@jmt_1992 I don't completely understand either. xD All I know is when you click next creature, the one you were just on gets a click. xD

@jmt_1992

View: When someone 'views' or sees your creature. Updates each day at 3 AM, can only be done once per day.

Click: When you actually click on it, and it goes to the creature profile screen. Once per day, updates in real time.

Feed: T.T not even gonna say it. Updates in real time, once per day.

Views occur when someone goes to your profile, or see your featured. You don't necessarily have to scroll down to the list of pets to view them.. 😉 I beilve all creatures gets views if you go the the profile. That's why I think it's silly when you go to someones profile and it says, "DON'T VIEW" xDDD

Clicks occur when you click a creature. You will be able to see the creatures profile if you do.

Feeds occure when you go to a pet's profile and click feed.

When you view a cove, you do not feed, of click
When you click a creature, you view and click
When you feed a creature, you feed, click and view it. XD
