Storm looked at the boys expectantly. The man awaited an answer, a smug grin plastered to his face. These children were obviously not siblings. But maybe the girl was adopted...

@ems "Ummmm... yes, that's right. Come along, uh, Susan. Mother will be waiting. You know how she doesn't like us being late to lunch. Excuse us, officer. We have to go." He pulled Storm around a corner. "Nice going. That's time wasted. We need to get going, no distractions."

Alura watched Adam and the girl walking back. She hoped they could just get going, and not spend too much more time here with all the crowds...She pulled out her holophone and recorded a quick message. "Hi, I found a small group of kids who are going out into space. They needed a pilot, and I volunteered. Sorry for not telling you first, but it's the latest model! And it's interstellar! I'll try to call regularly. Say bye to Ben for me! I'll miss you!" She sent the recording to her parents. She wasn't worried that they wouldn't approve of her leaving them, since they would likely be just as excited as she was about the ship.

Storm snapped quietly, marching ahead and right up into the ship. So much for having people understand. /Stupid drunk drivers. Through the decades; they've never changed./ She thought bitterly, faintly remembering the night her parents died. She sighed and sat down in a swivel chair before turning it so her back was to the group. The worst of it was that she was now left to her thoughts, most of which were blaming things on herself. /You should've known. It was New Year's, much to dangerous to drive. You should've made them stay and celebrate with you./ Storm thought, /They don't like you. They're just using you. You aren't smart./

@ems âšī¸ SAD!!!!! âšī¸Adam was torn. He wanted just to get on with this and discover, but he knew he couldn't be too expectant of the others or they would leave. "Oh, well, I'm sorry. I just get caught up in things and then if there are disruptions... I get a bit cranky. So, are you up for it now?" He started to ease towards the ship.

@sharkout LOL, yeah. Storm always has a tragic past. CX Makes her interesting for me.@purrclan@sandstorm99--Storm flinched, shook from her thoughts. She looked over her shoulder as Adam walked up to the ship. She shrugged. "Whenever you are." She said quietly, with a slight monotone. She'd made the mistake of letting her thoughts take her back to that night so long ago. "Do you... Do you have any books?" She asked softly, casting her gaze around the ship, looking for something to read.

EDIT:Alura nodded at the girl, who seemed to have calmed down. "I brought several books in case one ran out of power." She handed a tablet to the girl. "There's a lot on there...I like to read a lot," she said, smiling sheepishly.@ems

@sharkout@purrclan@sandstorm99--Storm smiled. "Thanks." She said, and looked down at the glowing device covered in words. Story's brow furrowed a bit, as she was used to paper books, but this couldn't be too different. She finally understood the controls after trying a few things, and began to attempt to read again. Still though, Storm struggled with the simplest of words, and spent quite a bit of time on each page. To Storm, words were like complex codes to decipher. But she managed alright.

@purrclan @ems Adam nodded. "Everybody ready? Remember, everybody might have space travel, but these new models are still prototype. The only way I got it in the first place is pretending I was testing it, so just so you now you might feel a bump when we make a jump, so hold on. When this gets more advanced later, you won't feel a thing, but right now, we'll have to deal with what we got. Now, lets start this thing up!"

@sharkout@purrclan@sandstorm99--Yet again, Storm's concentration crumbled under Adam's chatter. She looked up and listened. Of course not much of it made much sense to her, but she got the jest of it. This ship wasn't the real deal, just a tester, so it might get bumpy. "Alright then, let's blow this popsicle stand." She said, smiling a bit.

It looks like a probable place for interesting finds. Some people even say that the planet that held the Emperor and was where all the business happened was in that system! @purrclan@sharkout--Storm thought a moment. "Like, a different... Galaxy?" She asked Adam, catching on a bit. /I need o read more./ She thought. Grinning like an idiot, she spun her chair. "This is going to be so cool!" She cheered.

@ems *facepalm* same galaxy, different solar system. XD @purrclan Adam tried to explain. "No, we're staying in the same galaxy. This ship is not nearly advanced enough to travel galaxies, but it is advanced enough to travel between star systems. That means we can explore the entire galaxy, instead of just our solar system. Remember, humans colonized *this* galaxy, not a different one." XD

"But I'm a couple years out of date, I got the newest book immediately because I like to read but I don't have anything else new. And I don't exactly have the best social skills..." She turned to Adam. "Two-bee-fourteen? Got it." She walked over to the - wait. "Are we ready?" she asked.@sharkout @ems

@sharkout *facedesk facedesk facedesk* Fail. XD@purrclan--Story's face went blank. "Uh... Right." She said, trying not to sound completely lost on the subject. In all honesty, Storm didn't know much about space, but she did know a lot about old artifacts and civilization.

@ems sigh... sometimes I wonder about her...... sanity. XD @purrclan Adam nodded. "Yep. Let's get this thing moving! We'll see if the system has any habitable planets, but we have to be careful because there are legends about technology that could make and unlivable planet livable, and could control weather patterns. So it might not look like anything, but one of those planets could be important." He checked the ship; everything was in place. "Ok, we are go!"

Alura frowned. "I'm not sure you understood what I was asking. Are we ready? Is everyone here? Do we have all the supplies we need, and a lot of extras in case of emergency? There's a lot of stuff that we need to do to make sure we are ready, and you don't seem like you've thought this through."@sharkout

@sandstorm99 Well, *ahem*They met up, found Alura, who offered to pilot. Then Storm got chased down by an officer, so Adam had to help cover for her. They're all on the ship now, discussing whether or not they have everything.

DxAdam decided that maybe he should bring extra, like Alura said. After all, she had spent her life on a ship. She probably knew what was good or bad. "Ok. I'll go out and grabs some extra food and supplies. Just wait a sec, and then we'll go." He ran out the door, towards his house. "Ok, I'll run home, grab some food, get back, then go." he thought to himself. Something grabbed him from behind. "What the-" It was a kid, around his age, holding onto his arm.

@ems Honestly I have no idea. A small shadow of a figure watched a boy and a girl leaving an officer and walking to a ship. The shadow followed them, slipping into the ship and watching the group from a shadowed area in the ship. "This seems like a very interesting adventure and I would absolutely love to join in." The shadow step out, appearing to be a brown headed girl, just a few inches below average height. Her hands were clasped together behind her back, eyes wide with curiosity.

@ems @mercury @sharkout @purrclanRyan was sick of this already, so instead of hanging around with the new kid, he just headed off on his own to explore the new ship, hoping to find something that was actually helpful or fun.
