@ems O_o 😋 I will not let her stay there! XD

Adam shook his head. "Storm, get out form under there. When we make the jump, it'll be bumpy, and I don't want you smashing your head on the table." Adam half pulled half dragged her from under the table.

Storm shrieked, grabbing at the floor which sadly was smooth and gave her nothing tho grasp. So she began kicking, feeling her bare feet connect with various soft, warm objects which Storm assumed were parts of Adam.

Adam let go of the kicking and screaming girl. "Ok, Ok. Break your neck under there if you want to, I'll just say I tried to warn you."

Storm fell to the floor and scrambled to her feet. "Uh... Sorry." She said, and slowly sat in a chair. "I... Uh, kinda flip out when people grab me. Especially when I'm.. Err... Hiding." She muttered quietly, her cheeks flushing *again*. Then she clammed up again, letting the silence fill her up.

Sorry, sorry, homework 😋
You know, you could have just got up from your lazy butt at the computer and come over to me to tell me that 😋

Alura closed her book. Pressing a button on the cover, she opened it again to read something new.

Shea look at the girl an odd expression on her face. The girl looked to be just a bit older then her, yet was kicking and screaming when pulled out from under the table. Shea looked at the boy she had first seen.

"Sorry to...intrude, but I don't know any of your names." The young girl gave a smile, playing with a small black ribbon that she pulled out of her pocket. The ribbon was special to her for several reason, some of which she would never speak of, unless it was a really good friend that she could trust.

Storm shrank under the new girl's odd expression, more embarresed than she'd ever been. /Oh dang... Why are you so silly?/ She asked herself. "Uh.. I'm Storm." She muttered. Although she still wanted to hide, Storm wasn't about to look even more stupid, so she sisn't crawl back under the desk.

Adam inroduced everyone to Shea. "This is Storm, Ryan, and" he pointed to the cockpit/contolroom "That's our driver, Alura, who's too lazy to start the ship up!" He yelled in Alura's direction. He walked over to the controls. "So, where's the big green button that says, 'GO' on it?" Adam smirked.

Startled from her book, Alura spun around to face him. "Well, one, I was waiting for you to let me know when you were ready, two, I'm a pilot, not a driver, three, there IS no button like that - I've got it keyed to my voice - and four, don't talk to me like that."

Adam looked and felt worn out, and they hadn't even started off yet. "Look, I don't even care. Just get us off the ground and towards our destination please?" Adam walked back to the hanger with the others. "Ok guys, we're starting off for real now. Hold on tight."

@sandstorm99 Short and sweet! 😉 @purrclan @ems

Adam looked forward, and almost thought he saw a planet, one that was almost identical to Earth, but not quite. Then he shook his head, and the image was gone. "Just my imagination, probably doesn't exist..." He thought to himself.

Alura cleared her throat. "Computer. Passcode Xanth-three-double-you." A panel lit up with a green light, signaling that the computer was listening and ready to fly. "Enter orbit. Time-elapse one minute. Standby feli-nine-see." The ship needed time to prepare and lift off; if you really needed it, it could do it in seconds, but it put a strain on the ship to increase speed very rapidly, especially when in an atmosphere. It was better to give it a minute.

Adam was glad at the one minute warning. "We're almost lifting! Did you know that during the early days of space travel the ships needed HUGE engines and an entire space program to look after it? And those ships couldn't even leave Earth's orbit!" Adam was proud of his knowledge of the early days of Earth.

Alura looked at Adam flatly. "Almost? Almost lifting? You don't know anything about ships, do you? If you want something to start happening a minute from now, you say "Countdown one minute," not "Time-elapse one minute." If you look outside, you'll see we're already lifting. Time-elapse means it will take that long to occur. One minute from when I said that, we will be in orbit."

Storm sighed in boredom. The ship wasn't even rocking-- "Woah!" Storm said as they hit a bump, and she grabbed the edge of the desk as her chair began to roll across the floor.

Ryan crouched in the corner of the ship, wondering about his family. What were they doing? How was their vacation? Would they notice he was gone? Would they even miss him?

Adam relaxed. They were finally on their way! So many myths to be tested, secrets to be unraveled, there was a story, myth, legend, folklore, or fairytale for everything imaginable. And they were about to go into the deepest regions of the past. So many new discoveries that would help with research, Adam saw endless possibilities coming from this trip. The ship suddenly rocked again, and brought Adam back to reality.

It's been less than a minute since the ship started taking off...

Alura felt like cursing. Then again, there were kids on this ship. "Computer. Passcode Xanth-" The ship had cleared the buildings, so she didn't need to give it more instructions. She counted down silently in her head. 29...28...27... When she reached zero, she glanced out the window at the planet below. "We've made orbit! Now's the chance to see Earth from outer space if you want. If anyone wants to experience zero-gravity, let me know."

Adam was amazed. He was seeing two things he had always wanted to see at once. One, he had only seen Earth from space in pictures and textbooks before, and ever since he had first saw it in pictures, he had sworn to himself that one day he would see it in person. This seemed like an amazing feat to him at the time, because very few people ever got to see this sight besides pilots or vacationers, which were people who took vacations on different planets in the solar system. And two, the night sky viewed from higher in the atmosphere revealed many new stars and space features to the un-aided human eye. "Zero gravity? Mmmmm... I think I'll pass on that one. Don't you have to have special equipment for that? Or do the new models come with it already installed?"

Storm jumped to her feet and sprinted to a window to look out into space. Her eyes widened a bit as she stared at the stars, looking at the little blue planet she called home. "I never thought that it's be so... Amazing." She whispered. /Or that I'd ever get to see it with my own two eyes.../ SHe thought to herself.

Alura turned to Adam. "Zero-gravity stuff? Installed? How would you do that? We're in space, there isn't any gravity right now other than that which the ship is making. It's not a matter of turning zero-grav on, it's a matter of turning gravity off."

"The walls are padded. Most of the more recent ships have padded walls, for crews who find zero-grav more efficient."
