"What were you saying, Pepper?" She asked in a sicklt sweet tone. "Coming or not? Your house is burning quite fast."

A good solid kick was enough to make rain begin to pour from it, which she maneuvered over to the fire, extinguishing it. "You were saying?" She said to the small filly, giving the cloud another kick. This time, a lightning bolt came out of it, hitting the ground just close enough to the filly's tail for her to feel it. She smirked at the filly, who was now being rained on.

She pulled her cloak's hood back on and trotted off to find Midnightblaze, a sadness seeping in. This was always happened! Especially when Shadow was stressed out. And all she ended up with was hard feelings and new enemies. /Well no more./ She thought bitterly. She removed the amulet, and felt a bit more like herself. "I should stop wearing it so much." She murmured to herself. "It's changing me."

Golden Glimmer heard Midnightblaze alright, but she scorned it. Another filly to take advantage of her, that's what she was. Midnightblaze thinks she doesn't pick up the insane amount of eye-rolling and sarcasm, of course she did! The more Golden Glimmer was alone and not surrounded by attention and praise, the more she dwelled in the dark, selfishness of her own heart. She started making up lies in her heart that made her look good and the others were all bad, sour ponies.Then she had an idea.. Why stay in this dump? She can start a new franchise somewhere else - maybe Manehattan! Manehattan was a big place, a great place to start over and climb her way up the business again. That made her happy. Working made her happy. Praise made her happy. No one here in Ponyville gave her that anymore. Yes, she's done with Ponyville. Once she's gone, then maybe ponies here will fill themselves with regret for not taking care of the great Golden Glimmer.It was selfish, but hey - It's their loss.Quickly, she packed her bags, stuffing them with gold, make-up and other necessities. Golden Glimmer took off the magic barrier around her house, and head out the back door.

What was up with her? She wasn't that kind of pony! Lightning gently landed until she was right underneath the raincloud. She sat there for a few seconds, getting soaking wet. She deserved it, for being so mean to that little filly. And on top of that, she had ruined her chances of helping Celestia. She was listening to the quiet rumbles of thunder from the cloud when a thought suddenly came to her. It wasn't too late! She could go make up with Shadow and save her job, all in one foul swoop! She quickly flew forward, locating the filly. She landed slightly behind her. "Shadow, wait!" She called. "I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for everything I did to you. I don't know what came over me. That isn't the kind of pony that I am. I know that probably just sounds like an excuse to you, but I am sincerely sorry for hurting you." She said in a soft tone, looking down at her hooves. "I still want to help you, if you'll let me. Can we start over?" At this, she looked up at Shadow and held out her hoof for the filly to shake.

Shadow pulled her hood off, and shivered in the breeze. "To tell the truth; that wasn't me either. It was the amulet... Makes you wanna do some crazy things. But I need it. Without it, I won't be able to help in the fight against Celestia." She explained, and shook Lightning's hoof, realizing that the mare was soaked as well.

Lightning proceeded to tell Shadow the story that Celestia had told her when she first met her. It was about six ponies; two unicorns, two pegasi, and two earth ponies. They were living in a world that was nearly the inverse of Equestria, where Luna was the pony who had been banished for a thousand years. The six ponies went off on a quest to defeat Luna. They found friendship and strength in each other and were able to overcome every obstacle in their way. They were able to defeat Luna and allow Celestia to return to rule their land in peace and harmony. The main point of the story was that every pony, even the ones without any magic, were able to help as well. It took all of them together to make it to the place where the elements were kept, and all of them were needed to activate the elements. "I'm not saying that you need to believe every part of that story, but it's important for you to realize that everypony can make a difference, without needing magic." Lightning finished. "Where did you get that amulet, anyway?"

For now, at least. "Well I got it at a little shop in the Everfree run by Dead Weed. I had to protect a flag from some crazy-cool enchanted statues, with just my 12 charms. Barely succeeded, but it was sort of fun." She smiled at the memory, the feeling of success she got as she flopped to the ground.

Zanna groaned as she heard her name called. "What is it now?" she snapped as she heard Midnightblaze's voice. She had a good enough reason to hate her as much as she needed to hate her mother or her aunt.

Inside though, she was shocked at the filly. Dead Weed was one of the ponies Lightning had spied on in the past. She ran a mysterious shop in the Everfree Forest that was filled with dangerous charms. What was Shadow doing in a place like that? And, more importantly, how did she ever get a hold of that amulet? The Thirteenth Amulet was incredibly dangerous, not to mention corrupting. She needed to know how the filly got the amulet. "What happened? With the states and charms?" She asked Shadow, adding a slight excited tone to her voice. She needed all the details she could get!

He'd be a soppy romantic poet soon at this rate. He noted that the two mares were friends again. Well, yippee. Mares were always a little loopy, those two would be fighting again in a few hours. Pepper stepped inside his house, not bothering to shut the door behind him.

Midnightblaze had come with me, and Dead Weed told us that I had to prove my worth to earn the amulet. So she took us out into the forest with a flag, and told me to protect it without Midnightblaze's help, and just the charms I had." Shadow continued, ending with how she used her own energy for her final spell to defeat the gigantic stone pony. "And Dead Weed gave me the amulet. The reason she trusted me more is because I'm always hanging around her shop, buying charms and stuff. She's the one who helped me learn magic."

She couldn't fathom why Dead Weed would ever give the Thirteenth Amulet to anyone, much less a filly! She shouldn't have even had it in her possession in the first place! The Thirteenth Amulet had been buried years ago, just to make sure that no one could ever use it!

@sandstorm99 No problem.Zanna fixed the mare with her cold blind gaze. "I thought I controlled what I did and how I acted." She snapped and for the first time hte mare ran off before leaping up and flying off clumsily.

@sandstorm99Zanna simply turned her blind gaze away. So what if she was one of hte elements? She liked the light better. It accually HELPED her "see" more than just black dark blobs. They all differed from black to grey.

@featherstar_stormclan Just so you know, no matter the amount of light, blind creatures see nothing but black because their eyes are broken and cannot work at all--so they literally see nothing, They'd also have no perception of color, other than black. So if Zanna is fully blind, the light won't help in the slightest. 😉@sstwinz@creampuff@sandstorm99@sstwins--Shadow frowned. "Darn it, we lost him! He left the door open though..." She peered over at the charred door. "Hmm. Should we go see if we can convince him now?"

She looked at the completely trashed door and thought better of it. "Or, maybe not." Lightning felt her heart beating a little faster, thinking of how quickly she had managed to gain Shadow's trust. Her mission would be easy!
