Based on this and the books, he seems more bitter towards those who think that knights are all honourable and noble warriors, when it's killing that makes a knight, and he doesn't seem to like this, than he is bloodthirsty and cruel.

I just started a new book series today!

I've been kind of obsessed with the Megalodon lately. A prehistoric shark.

The first book in the series is called Meg and it's by Steve Alten.

It's been amazing so far!

But, apparently not well known. If anyone's heard of this, you will gain awesome points. 😃

Tag lines for the book! (Come on, they're awesome.)

"Say hello to the great-grandmother of Jaws...Now say goodbye."

"The most feared predator in history...is no longer history."

"If you see her coming, her name is all you'll have time to say."

"She's the terror that time forgot...but you never will."

That's awesome. Lol. If I'm facetiming, or skyping people. My mom comes in. "Who are you talking to?!" With a weird expression. People, mom, just people.

I loooove books! 😃

I'm reading Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson right now.

I also keep track of every book that I own and I have a record of the dates that I've read books! 😊

got two new books today, Frost Burned and Fair Game both by Patricia Briggs, but I'm going to hold off reading them till I go on vacation. That way I've got something to do in the car. But they are going to sit there torturing me until then. >.<

I would never have that will power.

I got new books this week, and they're done now. I couldn't resist. XD

I really shouldn't read when I'm home because I'm always bored during the day when I have nothing to do in the office, but... I'm not strong enough!

Teach me your ways! In all seriousness, let me know how they are! I need new books to read. XD

Any love for like crime scene/forensics mystery novels? I've read a couple by James Patterson and so far haven't been disappointed.

I'm a diehard HP fan, and I've read the Inheritance cycle although I wasn't too impressed by it. I loved the concept but felt as though the author didn't put very much thought in planning and didn't really like all the arbitrary "rules."

I remember reading this kind of strange series about worldwide plague mixed with some fantasy? I remember the books were named like Red, Black, White, etc. Anyone read those?

@zac

I have quite a few James Patterson novels.

Mystery type novels are a favourite of mine. I like to try and figure it out before the book tells you.

As for the Inheritance cycle, I remember like the idea of it and read the first three but never cared enough to hunt down the fourth one.

I've never heard of those books, or maybe I just have a bad memory. If you remember any more details about them, let me know. I'm curious to check them out!

@solaris

I'm kind of like that too. But for me, that's just my OCD kicking in.

@april__ I've hidden them away and have gotten a 3ds at the same time so I'm hoping that combination works to keep my mind off them for another two weeks. *crosses fingers* Though I'll probably break down and devour them by next weekend.

They're both parts of separate series, which are both pretty good if you like Urban Fantasy. You can find some sample chapters of the previous ones here, http://www.hurog.com/books/

But if Urban Fantasy isn't quite to your taste, I'd highly recommend her Raven Duology. It's got a solid story with an interesting magic system tossed in.

@zac Those sound familiar but I can't place them either. I could be mixing them up with another series, but the colors in the titles sound really familiar.

@april__

I have to do it because I own so many books that I can't keep track of them all. Sometimes, when I want to buy a book, I'll call my mother and have her access my records to make sure I don't have it already.

And my records aren't fully completed yet! 😋

I read my first Patterson book when I was 11. They are amazing. I need to finish a series of his though, but I can't go the library except like, once a month.

@orderedchaos

Whoa. Her work looks amazing. I really must find some of her books.

I read a couple sample chapters and am intrigued.

@solaris

Despite the amount of bokos I hve, I can always tell if I own a book. Usually by title, but sometimes, if it's an authoro I like that has lots of books. I'll check the summary.

I also just keep mine organized. Alphabetical, by author, then the books frmo the author are in alphabetical order. Unless it's in a series, because sometimes those don't go in alphabetical.

I'm a bit OCD. XD

@april__

Really? I wish I was like that. I always have to read books that are by a specific author in publication order. I'll often buy the books from a second-hand store, but not always in order, so I'll have to fill in the gaps from another bookstore.

Also, I sometimes buy books without reading the summary, just because I think the cover art is pretty. 😋

Yah, I read harry poter in 1st grade, percy jackson in second, hunger games in 3rd, so now I'm looking for some more good books.

@ems
did it really take you 3d days for a 300 page book? It takes me about 60 - 120 minutes.

@blueskytoday

The longest time it has taken me to read a book has been six months! Oops! 😋 (It was longer than 300 pages though.)

lol the longest for me was infinety! That was a super boring book, so I was like "oh, i'm done, not really, but I can't stand this book" but if I actually finished the book, it would be harry potter 7 in 1st grade that took me the longest, with 700 pages (roughly)

@blueskytoday

😋

The book I read was Anna Karenina. I just couldn't get into it. The year before I had read Crime and Punishment and that took me a month. Which I thought was bad at the time.

Deleted • 1 June 2013 at 7:27 PM

I once read a book, that was two inches thick, and it took me a month to read.

But then again, I also read a 27 book series in under a month, and a seven book series in under a week.
