Dumb ads

Is anyone else getting the Call of duty ghosts ad as much as me? I mean I get redirected to it in between almost every Eggcave page. It gets kinda annoying having to wait for the skip button to load.

@mighteglantine Though I didn't get that specific ad, I did get a lot for games. Because my laptop is so slow it would freeze on the ads too so I would have to turn it off from the power button a lot of the time. In the end I had to get a blocker but I can understand how annoyed you can get with them.

My main problem with them was that they said 'Men only' and had scantily clad women on them -.- It just annoyed me so much and made me feel even worse about what and who I am.

@mightyeglantine @whereiscupcake If you find any inappropriate ads, send in a ticket. Make sure to give a link to the advertisement as well (you don't have to visit the page; just right click on the image and click 'Copy Link Location' or 'Copy URL' or whatever it says for your browser). Ian can then block the ad. c:

There are tons of ads out there, so obviously Egg Cave can't just go through every single one. If you see an unsuitable ad, report it. I, too, hate the disgusting ads that pop up, but I only get them on the side of the page, not as a pop-up. I've gotten used to 'tuning them out' and not really paying any attention to them.

Also, even if you're unsure if it's 'offensive' enough to be reported, go ahead and report it anyway. You won't be penalised or punished. 😉

It's not like one of the little ads on the side of the page, it's a whole new page (http://imageshack.com/a/img842/5463/issv.png What I see) This page comes up in between Eggcave pages.

Adblock is a savior and eliminates all ads. It's an add on to your browser which you can find and install through a simple Google search. Problem solved 😊

@poof @bliss Problem not exactly solved, because Egg Cave gets money from hosting ads. That's the whole point of having advertisements--not just for websites, but on TV channels too. Channels paid by the government (e.g. the BBC) don't have adverts (unless they're BBC adverts) because they're already being paid by the government.

@mightyeglantine That's odd; I've never had a completely new pop-up or page come up like that. e_e;; I'm not sure if Egg Cave manages that or AdSense. :x

I get ads like that on other websites when I'm not using Adblock, on *every* page I go to ;-; If you don't use an ad block you just have to wait until you can skip the ad. It's a pain.

@karamel I started getting these ads around the 26th of September and they are very annoying especially when trying to navigate to the Strongroom while stalking the TC.

@mightyeglantine - Yeah, I get this stupid ad all the time, too! It aggravates me so much. It takes forever for the "skip ad" button to load sometimes, and I don't understand why it has to take up the entire window. It makes me not want to play that game, ever. -.-

It's so annoying, glob-dangit. D:< I need an ad blocker, idc if EC loses money. Every time I'm just like; "NO, I DO NOT WANT CALL OF DUTY."
... Anyways, they're really annoying, especially when I accidentally have my volume up. Then I'm interrupting my parents. o-o;

I do the same as bookw0rm. Soon as they pop up, I hit that back button. No waiting necessary.

And I think it would be fine for you to get an adblocker. Egg cave gets enough money from cc, especially since they're allowing it in the auctions. I don't think blocking the ads from a few users is going to cost them that much, and honestly, if the adds are that annoying, people aren't going to play the game anyway.

I have had ads take me to different pages, not close after coving the whole page, or crash my computer.

I use ad block since if I didn't it would take me hours to get through feeding my 25 creatures.

I understand that ads are a good chunk of the money sites like this get, but not at the expense of not coming on this site again.
