@nenielsen EXACTLY OMG.And what's worse? The prices.Newland Castle is over 80,000 EC 0.0 It's a background, people. A background. Imagine in real life, a travel would be like a photo or something. You DON'T CASH IN 80,000 EC for a picture -.-Plus, this haggling is really annoying. The shopkeeper only accepts if I go like, 5 EC less than the original price. How helpful.
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 12:44 AM
@lemonade THANK YOU.Haggling is SO dumb!!!If @ian is going to raise the prices that high, he needs to make it EC easier to obtain! The alkub races, site trivia, and advent tree give you crap! >âšī¸
june • 9 December 2013 at 12:46 AM
@nenielsen INDEED.There's no POINT to it because it's not HAGGLING :/First of all, my friend @elise123456789 and I agree that all travels are wayyy overpriced. The cheap travels don't look that great on any of my creatures? So yeah. And the alkub races, I haven't used them because it's gambling and elise123456789 hasn't won them ONCE. >:C
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 12:49 AM
@lemonade SO STUUUPPIIIDDD.... Lets ping more people! đLIvepulse Pings (sorry):@ilovedoctorwho@ems@oncomingstorm@immortalraven
immortalraven • 9 December 2013 at 12:51 AM
@nenielsen It probably won't happen. I don't care either way. I get them one way or another so yeah... Though I kinda like it..They provide a way for some to get a lot of EC or even critters or CC cause some can get them easier than others and such. Heck I trade critters/EC, CC for retired travels to those who usually have trouble getting like LEs and such...
ems • 9 December 2013 at 12:53 AM
@nenielsen Eh, I don't care. XD I don't care about a lot of things, actually. But yes, there should just be every travel I'm stock all the time, otherwise it's just a pain. And I never see anything I want, so I never bother. And the haggling? Seriously not haggling. I honestly don't get that. If anything, it's just a pain in the butt. And really irritating.
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 12:53 AM
@immortalraven well its easy if you actually spend money on egg cave.... I don't so it really pisses me of... >.>@ems well then you do care! đ
immortalraven • 9 December 2013 at 12:59 AM
@nenielsen You don't HAVE to spend money. I trade for CC đAnd I see you have pretty nice critters so yeah indicates ya don't need to if you haven't spent money đ
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 1:03 AM
@immortalraven I know, but I don't spend my entire day feeding creatures for EC (I'd probably kill myself from bordom! đ) I got the creatures I have from older LEs.... but your right, there's plenty of people who refuse to pay 5 dollars for a SINGLE creature... -___-Please take the poll people! đ
immortalraven • 9 December 2013 at 1:05 AM
@nenielsen I only feed my cove mostly unless like something like the Halloween bash comes along or someone comments on my wall that they did đ I trade lesser LEs like Tifics and Pamis and such for EC and one thing that helped me get what I want was that I was willing to trade anything for things I liked more and now I finished my wishlist basically so yeah
ems • 9 December 2013 at 1:07 AM
@nenielsen Well it's my opinion, but I don't care if anything is done about it. đ
Deleted • 9 December 2013 at 1:23 AM
@nenielsen If all the travels were unlimited, none would be rare or common. The reason a lot of travels are desirable is mainly because of their rarity. Take that away, and there also would be no point in having different prices for different travels. Also, travels are the only other thing besides creatures that users can [currently legally] trade. Why would you want to destroy 50% of the eggcave enterprise? There are users that make much of their EC from restocking travels, and selling them at higher prices to other users. You're argument is like saying: everybody should be able to get an onny for a good price! Don't you think that would entirely destroy the markets of supply/demand?Also, about the 50k users. That's not entirely....representative of your argument. 50k signed up players does not mean 50k ACTIVE users. I guess under 1,000 players are 'active' at the moment.
bliss • 9 December 2013 at 5:42 AM
I don't think this is necessary. What is necessary is increasing the amount in stock, especially regarding the more sought after travels. Having only 2-4 in stock is simply not enough for usually more than one or two people to have a shot at sniping them away. I've seen a travel fully stocked go within 30 seconds or less from just one person.

Unlimited travels would seriously hurt the economy and make ec even more useless than it already is...
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 11:17 AM
@darthvader I see where your coming from. But as I've been saying, I think that Egg Cave (like neopets) is about the pets. The travels are backgrounds. Rarity doesn't necessarily make people like travels. People like good artwork, that matches their creatures's colors (I know I do đ). In my opinion, travels are not 50% of egg cave's trade, they'd be more like 20% or less. This is arguable though. And you can't legally trade them, only gift them, which I think should be changed also.Actually, there are about 69 thousand users. I put 50k because I wanted to be able to put the "over" in front of it. I'm guessing there are at least 20-30 thousand users active. I mean, 1,000/69,000 would not be able to keep this site running. @bliss exactly. It's not fair for just one person to get all the good travels. I've been playing for years and have never gotten anything good from the travel agency. I would think the only people getting good travels are the ones who are sitting at their computer all day waiting for them to restock. I don't have that luxury. You may not think this topic is necessary, but plenty of people do. @hybridrainbow I don't feel like repeating myself, so you can just look up đOverall, I doubt unlimited travels would seriously effect egg cave's not-so delicate economy. There are always new creatures coming in. EC's value probably wouldn't be that greatly affected either.... but who knows I'm not an economy-expert. đ

@nenielsen I understand where you're coming from, but even the customizable items on neopets aren't unlimited. They just lose their rarity over a period of time and eventually just sit in the shops, because nobody wants them anymore or they're not profitable enough to restock.Travels, especially when they're retired, add to the appeal of the creature and can accentuate the design and color of the artwork.Restocking can be really frustrating though. I have over 100 travels in my strong room. Is there anything in particular you've been trying to get? If I have it, I'll send you some
karamel • 9 December 2013 at 12:15 PM
@darthvader and @hybridrainbow (the first paragraph of your last post) have both pretty much said it all for me. And definitely this: "You're argument is like saying: everybody should be able to get an onny for a good price!"Travels do make up a larger part of the economy than you think--it costs EC to buy them, and people selling them generally want to make a profit, so they price them higher when selling. I've just looked through the first couple of pages in the Creature Trading section and there are plenty of "travels UFT" topics.I view travels as (train or plane) tickets for trips abroad, or concert tickets. Unlimited tickets are impossible--there aren't unlimited vehicles or seats for everyone! Those who can't afford the tickets cannot go. There are absolutely /no exceptions/ (some people may be able to win tickets, but they still have to be bought by an organisation). It's on a first come, first served basis. If there's tickets for a popular artist's concert in something like the Madison Square Garden, you'll have to be super quick and willing to pay a good price.EC value would definitely decrease, as travels are usually traded for EC--I personally don't view a travel worth a creature, since travels are for single use and you don't have to feed them. đ (Maybe a huge bunch of travels for one creature.) No one would want to buy travels from a user, as the user would price the travel higher than the original price, so as to earn a profit. Why bother paying more than what you need to? Actually, scrap that; why bother buying a travel from a user /at all/ if you can easily (and at your own pace) buy one that is /unlimited/ in the Travel Agency? As for the active users thing... I know that some people prefer to avoid forums for their own reasons, but another forum I lurk on has around 65,000 registered users. At the most there are 400 users online daily but usually it's around 250. I assure you that their forum is /much/ more active than Egg Cave's; roughly 2 posts a minute (which is 2880 posts a day). In comparison, the livepulse (which shows the 30 most recent posts) is still showing posts from 3 hours ago.

We've updated the restock machine. đ Hopefully this will make restocking more fun.
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 12:45 PM
@hybridrainbow thanks... I've actually been looking for the poppy fields for my frion. Do you have that? đ@karamel I see what your saying, but it would be so much easier to just have them unlimited. I think most people don't play egg cave for the travels, but for the creatures.... the travels should be just a bonus. I hate how hard it is to get the travels you want. I hate the travel agency: they barely restock the cool ones, and when they do, they are way overpriced. The haggling is pointless. These issues need to be addressed. At least increasing the stock of travels or changing the haggling so that its actually haggling is something. Most of the travels people don't even know about, and I wouldn't know about them if not for egg cavern. Travels may play a role in the economy, but its not a big enough role to say "your argument is like saying everybody should be able to get an onny for a good price!" because in no way will travels ever be worth the price of an onny. They're just backgrounds. I feel they should be unlimited. Thanks for the input people đ

@nenielsen you're welcome!sent it đ was there anything else?
karamel • 9 December 2013 at 12:52 PM
@nenielsen The Travel Agency is restocked multiple times every hour (so more than hourly). And the whole point of having 'rare' travels is that they are /rare/.darthvader's analogy is not about how travels are of equal rarity of an Onny. It's the whole concept--Onnies are rare, and so are some travels. Personally my ideal analogy would be this: saying "travels should be unlimited because they're really hard to get" is like saying "we should get unlimited Asteroid tries so we're all able to get Asteroid creatures".And sometimes (okay, most cases) you can't get /everything/ you want. If anything, I personally like how some travels are rarer than others. And if you're finding a rare travel hard to get, even better--that's why they're described as 'rare'.edit: Oops, I didn't see Ian's post above. @Ian Could there possibly be a more exact definition of 'updated'? Do travels drop more frequently now, or...?(Blog post would be good, too.)
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 12:53 PM
@ian how? Just restocking more travels more often won't fix everything... @hybridrainbow thanks! Do you want EC for it tho? đ@karamel I know, but I'm just so sick of it. THEY ARE BACKGROUNDS NOT CREATURES. Hard-to-get creatures is enough for me... đ
Deleted • 9 December 2013 at 12:54 PM
@nenielsen nope! just trying to help you out with some travels
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 12:56 PM
@hybridrainbow thanks! đ I don't really know all the travels or anything... I have to make a wishlist.. >.>

@nenielsen yeah! you should!they're all listed here : http://www.dex.eggcavern.net/search/?tname=&searchtype=traveli wouldn't know them all either if it wasn't for that cavedex thing xP
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 1:42 PM
@hybridrainbow thanks! Its on my wall... longer than i expected, there are SO many travels I didn't know about... 0_o
spirithawk • 9 December 2013 at 1:56 PM
@nenielsen I'VE BEEN THINKING THIS SAME THING FOREVER. It's impossible for me to get any other travels than the Ark City Sewers, the Colosseum, and Ark City or something. Every single time I go to the Travel Angency that's all I see. Only around 5 of the travels I have I've gotten myself in the Travel Agency. All the others I've had to buy from other people and even they have to stalk the TA 24/7 to get the travels. I think that we should be able to just go to the TA, get a travel we want for a certain price and not have to click on and enter the price you want to buy it for at super speed just to find out that THEY'RE ALL. SOLD. OUT. We should be able to just get a travel when we want it instead of asking 10 or more people if they have it, or making a topic with over 25 of the travels you're seeking, or looking through the dozens of topics that are selling travels and searching through the list and looking for the travels. Then you have to bid on it because probably 5 other people want it too. This would make buying travels so much easier and I think this is a good idea.
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 2:02 PM
@sprithawk YES. THANK YOU. This is what I've been trying to say, but I've practically given up on finding the travels I like because THERE ARE SO MANY and they're all hard to find! X(

@nenielsen you said " I would think the only people getting good travels are the ones who are sitting at their computer all day waiting for them to restock. I don't have that luxury." ----- and my response is: yes you are exactly right. You do not have that luxury. And that is fair. If you do not play the game as much, you will not reap it's rewards as much. Those who play more, will earn the ability to snipe the travels. Inactive players should not get the same benefits as active users because it's not fair to the active users. You are not entitled to rare travels, in fact, nobody is. That is why you must earn them, with your time, or with extra EC that you must pay other users for their time and effort to get them.______________________Just as it's not cool when you don't get the new cave monthly in your cave tries, it's also not cool when you don't get the travels when they restock. If your argument were valid, it would have to stand for creatures and travels. Like I mentioned before, it would be like everyone being able to buy an onny. No, just...NO.Basically this thread to me seems like a lot of complaining by people who can't get the travels they want, because they are unwilling to spend the time to try and get them. Regardless, I'm out of this convo now. ttfn everyone.EDIT: poor Ian, can't please anybody nowadays.
