Breeding? Yay or nay?

I think there should be a way to breed creatures. Maybe requiring two of the same creatures, or maybe a 50% chance of being either parent if the creatures are different. I was thinking maybe have it so only fully evolved or immortal creatures can breed. What do you guys think? Pinging others would be greatly appreciated too 😸

It's a good idea, it also may make the site more interesting. Then again, it will mean more work and trouble for the team D:|

I think that this is a good idea. However, I don't think that they should have to be immortal because (in my experience) that takes a long time and is hard to do. Also, I am not sure why it should be only immortal creatures. I do agree with them having to be on their final stage though, because I'm pretty sure that means they're adults.
But, I do think Eggcave should do this!

@firegirl @animallover94 It seems like a pretty good idea, though it might make things confusing. And I agree that they should definitely have to be immortal, immortalizing really isn't that hard.

I'd breed an Onny and Doovoo. What would I get? A fluffy patched bunny holding a sword?

If I'd breed a Macbot and a Vampyr, would I get a metallic Vampire? What about its teeth?

If I'd be breeding a first stage Mummar with a first stage Tine, what would I get?
A first stage Tine with a cracked skull in place of its head, and tattered mummified patterns all over it?

If I bred a Hallowolf with a Halldrag, would I get a halloween carpet-like dragon-wolf that howls?

If I bred a Flintar with an Iccilah, would I get a unicorn dog that breathes fire, and releases ice as sweat? xD

And.. finally.. if I was to breed a Foo and a Roo, would I get a fox with a big red nose and thin legs, or a reindeer with the fox like pattern?

I don't support this sorry ☹️ But if creatures were breedable, there'd be not many rares, and if CCs were breedable they'd lose all their value

I agree with @leonx. This idea (or at least ones similar to it) has been posted multiple times. However, people keep finding that creature worth/rarity would go WAY down, if you can breed like that. Many people's hard work would go to waste. It may seem like a valid idea on the surface, but in the long run, it definitely would not work.

If they breed with different species to create a morph of some kind and a new critter mixed with the two then maybe. Cause that'd be cool. But only if the critters were a little similar, not like gory Halloween type + like Valentine types. But like Halloween + Halloween, Valentine + Valentine, dog type + dog type, or like cat type + cat type, etc.

But if ya breed and can get the exact of a critter like two Nyms = a Nym then that'd decrease the value. Though lol, I don't think values going down a little is bad, maybe just for a short short time like one day a year and it have like 5o/5o chance. Cause some people are just very greedy with their rare rares and it gives very little chance for others to get them. But breeding might make it go up/stay a little on the other hand (though rarity goes down some would probably still be same value/worth or around it), like on other sites I've been on because people with the critters would still want people to pay a ton and if they're the only ones with them still then others would most likely pay that and be just as attached and not willing to trade /that has happened on other sites I've been on/ Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't but quite frankly the creators/runners of the site can do what they want. If I like it/don't oh well, if other like it/don't oh well. People don't have to like everything that happens but if it happens big huge deals shouldn't be made. Like for the cave monthlies not retiring I was like eeh oh well others were OH HECK NO! xD But this game is more of a democracy than the others games I'm on of what I've seen, lol

I repeat again: This is not a breeding site. It is a collectable site. There are plenty of breeding sites out there if that's your thing, but EC is not and should not be one of them. It is not designed to be one.

hey, Great idea!
It would be cool, but think of the strange creatures you could end up cross-breeding XD

@metaphor
I agree. But maybe they could do a site where you could take your creatures and breed them, however; the hybrids wouldn't be considered part of EC.

No, no, no, and once again, NO.
This is NOT a breeding site. Breeding will deflate the value of creatures. And what meaning is there, in having a Doovoo, if everybody can just get one like that? (I do not have a Doovoo) Surely that nice looking CSP you just bought has some value? Oh look, there's one in the AC. How unexpected. This won't be good for Ian either, recent CSPs will be immortalized fast as lightning and bred to the point it's meaningless to buy them for even just 5 dollars. This has been suggested many times before, and shot down every time. EC is not a breeding site. Breeding does NOT belong here. This won't work.

And you should think of people's coves that are worth hundreds of dollars in real money. I'm not one; I can't even buy CC. But if something as idiotic as breeding comes, I'll probably be quitting, along with many other people, because I worked pretty hard on this cove. And it'd suck, if years of effort went into that cove and suddenly it doesn't even have any value.

If you want some expensive creature, WORK FOR IT. Don't just try to get it over-bred so you can have a cheap one.

Ugh, this has been suggested FAR too many times.

And just to make it clear: my objection to this idea goes beyond omg don't make my rares less special. I'm against this idea, again, because there's no reason for EC to introduce a breeding feature. That's not what it's designed to be, no matter how you twist it.
