I noticed the sarcasm on *you know who* post 😋 XD
To make it more obvious on the sentence above, I really agree on the part that last stages are uglier than first and second (its not really "hilarious") also that explains quite a lot why the egg/first stages of older creatures worth more now... people actually liked the last stage so not many people froze their creatures on egg nor first stage ☚ī¸

Here's a thing. Not perfect, but it was fun to paint.
Can I see some of your art? Lol off topic moment.

On topic, I can't wait for October! I hope there's something nice that's free because I'm paying for food and school. |D

Truthfully, I like some of the last stages. All of the Hulae, Onabi, and Trisk stages are awesome. Revii stages are also awesome. I think it goes to the preference of the general populace of this game wanting cuter pets. The Onabi last stage is regal af. I'm just freezing first stages for now to eventually trade them in a year or two. Only way it seems like to get by in this game.

And truthfully, the art style evolves and stuff. I dig the older art styles (I was here in 2012, but left because it was extremely hard to get anything), but the newer art styles are cool too. Sure, there are not much realistic looking ones like Florn, but things come in time I guess.

@promise

Thanks for your opinion on the matters. As any good website, there needs to be competition, a drive. That's where I think CC comes in handy (though I don't have any!). With the CC, better creatures are "in the market" and spurs others to trade, interact, support the website, etc. BUT BACK TO THE POINT: I would understand if the more original creatures were CC-based. Variety is the spice of life. I think it's just this year in particular that has been overly-cute.

@crunchyoreo25
@mejary

I understand your frustration as well. Take the Harpis and Duckbeak for examples. I'm not against "uncute" last stages, rather just pointing that out. It's sort of like nature too... Babies are cute and elderly people not so much...? 😋 But honestly, everything is fair. Heck, the whole site is FREE.

@hippy

I don't have a problem with stages. Instead, it's about the style of the creatures. It can go cute, cool, creepy, or anything, but I see this year's has been tipped to the cute side.

@trig

Yeah, I agree it has, but I think its because of the populace that play on this site. I'm sure in the months to come, we'll see some cool/creepy pets. I mean, the Revii and Onabi look awesome. The Khione as well. Lastly, the year isn't over yet so these last three months could be that equalizer.

The revii was good, I have to agree. I really liked it!

@shun-m
Well I'm glad you liked it! I'd appreciate if you didn't post it anywhere, though, especially without credit. #artistprobs

And that Crios is pretty darn awesome! I hope that creature gets created! It'd be a great one for October, and a little different from the last few months. And I was really happy the Mystic (I totally don't remember how to spell it) was created. When it came up, I was happy to see something different and got as many as I could. |D Hey look, I'm still on topic!

I didn't see if this was stated in another comment by another user, but I think Ian had created the Daily Neopets, so Eggcave has started attracting the younger users from Neopets?Personally I think the younger demographic outweighs the older population of users, so my personal opinion is the more 'cutesy' art is like one, the artists style (which is awesome btw) and two, younger kids aren't too into bizarre, per se, creatures? o:

I love cute things and I love scary things so I'm fine with the creatures. c:

@poe your art is amazing whOAh

@trauma
You have a point, but yeah, I think the consensus is that younger users do like cute things and so the cute style serves the site's purposes well. But we're all here discussing the fact that we also enjoy other kinds of creatures.
And thanks!

@trig I totally agree with you! The recent creatures in the past 6 months have gotten much less recognizable due to the decline of maturity and uniqueness. I find many of them look alike because their all animals with big dreamy eyes and child-like look. The evolutions have gotten much more boring as well because all the evolutions look the same now. Where has old Eggcave gone? D: I mean I still love Eggcave, but the maturity of the art and creativity has greatly declined. For example: compare 3rd stage Tine with 3rd stage Sweesh. Just my opinion

I was thinking exactly the same thing when I saw this month's cave monthlies. I'm not even considering keeping either of them for myself. I get that they cater to a particular person, but I am not that person. I joined for the dragons and leopard-y things. Not fluffy puppies and flying foxes. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand that there are plenty of people who are interested in that sort of thing and they should definitely be catered for. I'm just not sure about the continuing trend in that direction. I'm excited for October! I've loved about 90% of Halloween creatures so far and this will be my first actually on the site.

That being said, the art this month is really good. If only I could draw like that! It's just not my personal style, that's all. Which is totally cool. I don't expect to love every single creature.

@trauma
I came here from TDN! Although, you'd be surprised at the number of older members we have. In fact, I can only think of one or two people I've met who were under 16. I'm an adult myself and pretty much all my friends are roughly the same age 😋
Ian is our much loved father. He's the nice one who sorts our problems and unfreezes our accounts. He's fab.

Haha, no worries. Maybe because I tend to gravitate towards political debates 😋
I'm not really good at identifying demographics, but even when I was a kid, I would have gone for the cooler creatures rather than the cute ones.

Politics!!! I feel like we're on the same page, here. Though I'm super bad at guessing ages, so I don't have a clue what age the people I talk to are. |D

@trauma

That's part of my point. Since the "oldies" from 2009 - 2011 have aged into high school, perhaps their tastes have changed. That does not account for the growing population of newcomers who may be in middle school and very interested in the big-eyed, vibrant colored creatures.

@motivecat

Exactly my point! I'm fine with stages as long as they are different and not just a position change, get it? Though the Glooble is very cute, I feel as if it is merely "stretching" the creature. And I'm not condemning the artist... Just pointing some things out for improvement over the next few months. Thanks for understanding. 😊

@valkeyrie

Hope you have a good EggCave Halloween this year with the imminent creatures. 😉 And like I said to @motivecat, the problem is that the stages are very much the same.
