Blocking suggestions - Added something to what it was before

Sorry for the title being ehh. Couldn't think of what to call it.

Ok, so I've been having people who I have blocked posting on my topics.

It seems that they are able to ping me but I just don't get the notification from them. I've noticed others have had this problem too. And I think I have posted to others that have me blocked and I didn't know have me blocked on their topics as well which I don't really care but it'd be nice to know if they have me blocked so I know why they never responded at all.

Well I'd like to suggest something like on the walls if someone has blocked a person then they can't ping them and it will say that they are blocked and that they can't post like on walls.

Posting this cause I don't want a ton of people that I have blocked for a reason to be posting on my topics. I feel bad not responding to them at all and them thinking I don't have them blocked because they can ping me on a topic and I already feel bad about blocking anyone but I always block people for a reason so yeah.

Would this be possible to do?

Also for people who have you block can't contact you. Like if they block us, they cannot contact us at all either. Like if they try to post on your wall, for example, it would say, "You have blocked this user. You cannot post on their wall."

I do not know if something like this would be feasible to implement but it is worth discussion.

In the mean time, if someone you've blocked attempts to contact you via the forums please report it, they are breaking the rules and need to reminded of that fact.

Edit: Public block lists are not a good thing. Such things lead to drama which no one wants.

As a whole I support it. If I block someone I expect it to be blocked from everything. Though I only blocked a couple of newbies (and not so newbies) that didn't stop begging for creatures.

Yeah, that'd be nice.

Because I had someone that had been offering on my item lots for a long time, and I went to go post on their wall...
Only to find they had blocked ME. Blocked them back, because it wasn't fair that they could offer on my things but I couldn't offer on theirs.
Lost a valuable seller, but sucks for them, honestly.

Edit: I think we should just get a notification that we've been blocked for x reason, but not who blocked us. Less drama, like @Orderedchaos was bringing up.

Yeah that's happened to me also kinda but with critters. Actually accepted the offer on one but oh well done and over. I just check to see if I'm blocked now before accepting unless I like the offer a lot o3o
Ah yeah it could be drama but it'd be nice to know so we could block em before they start doing that and I've had it happen a lot and annoys me more than just knowing they blocked me. Oh well I can live without it and can just block em back.
Wish there was a rule that they couldn't contact us either cause repeatedly posting on my wall or offering on lots is annoying. Or if they block us then just have it where the physically can't contact us at all. Doesn't need to tell us but it can be like an auto block from our side without us knowing? Though that might not be possible either. I don't know if I explained that very well.

The block list could be in Account Preferences and private. Only you can view it.

Yes exactly. With trade lots also o3o The forums aren't a huge deal cause I don't get the notifications for em but wall and lots are annoying

It could possibly still cause drama though. Cause I've seen some people have their friends bug people who block em and they could do that if they learn they've been blocked :I

@immortalraven If you know you've been blocked by someone and they continue to contact you, either by wall posts or offering on your trades, that is considered harassment which IS against the rules. So if this is happening to you please report it.

i've been blocked at least by one (i don't remember who) and i remember that person offered on one of my lot few minutes after i've been blocked!!!

but by myself i never blocked anybody!!!
