User Suggestion Week (USW)

Similar to CRW, but exclusively composed of user suggestions.
14 suggestions can be randomly chosen throughout forums, and users can vote for the 7 they'd like to be seen made.

Thinking this event could take place once a year and sometime between May-September, when there isn't much going on.

Thoughts? Concerns? Any additional ideas would be appreciated!

Summary of additional thoughts/concerns:

- Rules: Begging and/or bribing for votes is strictly prohibited. Each user is only allowed to vote once, voting from side accounts is not permitted.

- Bi-annual user suggestion week to ensure more suggestions are used. Maybe as a festival?

- The USC (user suggested creatures) to be released as event prizes. The events can continue to explore the lore of Ark.

- Voting polls could stay open for a week/month, or top favorite suggestions are chosen. USW can be prolonged to where each creature can be released for a longer amount of time.

- Users can submit suggestions through a special thread instead of suggestions being randomly chosen from forums.

- The user suggesting the creature is not known to the public. In this case, users could submit their suggestions privately (via PM or email) to staff instead to prevent biased voting.

- Quality over quantity is a must 😉

- User voting can be optional. Let the artists choose freely which 7 suggestions they'd like to make.

I would love to see something like that on EC. ❤️

I mean, we have A LOT of nice suggestions ... they're really original (and I've seen several people complaining about the same type of creatures relased and such) so it would be also very positive for the site, too. Also, users sometimes take a very long time to think, draw and propose a suggestion ... so it would be really nice If ALL would have a chance to be made. 😸

@element I'd really like this, but I feel like we shouldn't vote, even with the 14 being randomly chosen. Let it be up to the artist browsing the forum.

Yeah, it'd be great if a good portion of those suggestions could be utilized. Maybe a USW can be held more than once a year?

That could also work. Just thought the voting would make this event more interactive. Either way is fine with me, as long as all those suggestions aren't just rotting away xP

@element Idea is nice but there could be a risk when people will start begging via coves to support them. To prevent this it should be written in contest rules and forbidden.
And one vote per player an no voting from side accounts. This all should be written too.

@element I am ALL for this suggestion! Really cool! With all the User Suggestions being made, daily it seems, this event would really help make a dent in bringing all those ideas the users think up to life. Though quality over quantity is preferred.

User voting, I agree with. The users are the ones the creatures are "for". Where would the site be without the users?

@element This is something I'd really like to see, there are so many wonderful creature suggestions that get lost in the forums before the moderators decide to take one.

This could become some sort of festival, where once or maybe twice a year moderators open a special thread where users post creatures, or send links to a topic they made prior to show off their creations.

I really hope this gets considered in the future, there are too many creature suggestions going to waste here.

I think this is a great idea 😃. I've seen many wonderful suggestions on forums and I would love to see some of them as actual creatures.

I was wondering if suggestions were randomly chosen "throughout the forums", would older designs be considered?

Same here. It's sad to see some people get discouraged when it's been months, years even, and their suggestion hasn't been used.

It helps show what the community likes and wants 😃

Personally, I think if there was something like this, it should be a blind test. Meaning, that the user suggesting the creature is not known to the public (during the voting process).

This is so I feel like the voters could have a more objective view of the suggestion; so they are voting because they actually like the idea, not so much because "oh, because my friend made this so I will vote for them!"

Either way, I like this idea 😋

this idea is really great! I really hope this to be made, it give a lot of old suggestions a change again. I think it would be great if people could vote, it give the users a change to decide what creature can be made in the end 😸

But maybe more vote? Or that people can make a top 5 😋 because I think there would be many many suggestion 😊 (and in this system you say what creature you would like the most, what comes second, etc.)

And how would it work? People can vote for their favorite creature suggestion for a week/month (give it some time so people can think about it and have the time to vote instead of missing it because thee wasn't enough time? 😋) then a week long each day a creature shall be released?

I agree that everyone should know when this event is taking place and also have a sufficient amount of time to vote. 😊
Not sure how prolonging the event would effect it, but it would give the staff more time.

Awesome idea! It seems like a lot of the creatures that have been made lately are made by the mods, and this would make sure there are more creature suggestions made. 😊
