Frozen Creature Evolved?

I suppose I could be wrong, but I am pretty much positive my Swornt was frozen at second stage.

When I logged on today, I got a notification saying that it evolved. (And sure enough, it did.)

I didn't freeze it myself, I traded for it a while ago and it said on it's creature profile that it has used the Essence of Litsdnats...I remember the icon and everything.

Is this a bug? Or was I just mistaken all this time?
