Hi, there! I decided to hold on a contest! All you have to do is make a Luminese in any form you want (pictures, sculptures and more).

First place get 100cc plus Giant Huggable Bunny and Creature Snowglobe travels. There might also be a surprise...
Second place gets 10k ec.

It'd be nice if we pinged the creator of the Luminese while showcasing the works submitted for the contest, so they'd get to see all the nice fanart created. 😊

As for these two species, I need your help deciding whether they qualify as dragons or not:

The Dragold is considered a dragon, so the Youngold, being [kind of] a smaller version of the Dragold, should also be considered a dragon, yes? It has my vote.

The Quetki, on the other hand, is too serpent-like for me. Lacking claws or wings, I'm voting it as not a dragon.
What do you think?

Oh! I thought this club had died. After all, the Cutey Dragons Club leader, @loumina28, isn't very active on Eggcave and comes on once every few weeks or so... it's nice to see that you're trying to keep it going though. 😊 (She's basically canceled the Luminese contest though, talked to her earlier and it turns out I was the only participant, heh.)

Also, I'll go ahead and vote:
+I think the Youngold would most likely be a dragon considering how closely related it is to the Dragold, so +1 over there.

-The Quetki, on the other hand, appears to be based off of the deity Quetzalcoatl, whose name means "feathered serpent". Sooo, I'm probably going to go with "no" for the Quetki being a dragon. -1

Meh, I still think the Quetki's really more of a large feathered serpent than a dragon, and the whole Quetzalcoatl thing just gives that thought some extra support. Gonna stick with -1, sorry. 😋

I suppose, when they have wings. The Quetki's child stage does have some feathery appendages near the end of its tail, but I doubt those could be wings... especially since they aren't evident on the other stages further down the evolution line and would likely be unable to support the creature's weight considering the size + placement.

Anyways rawr let's stop arguing about this single vote 😋

I would consider both to be dragons. While the Quetki lacks limbs or wings, it could be akin to a Wyrm to me, so it's still a type of dragon in my eyes.😊

Thanks for your points too! Also, there are other creatures I'm not sure about giving the dragon title, so if you'd like to also make a case for any of those, feel free to do so. I'd like to hear other's thoughts on them.

And thank you for voting as well! I'm personally trying to make a distinction between Wyrms, Worms, and Dragons, but I'll follow the club's majority vote. We did make a definition of what makes a dragon, I'll go look for it. I'll also post the new tally:

I looked through the thread and found where the discussion on what makes a dragon took place.

From what I've read, basically, 4 legs[clawed], scales, a tail, horns, and either wings or an elemental breath make a dragon here. The Qutten is not considered a dragon by the Ark Archives because it does not have wings, but the club has voted otherwise.

The above requirements make the Mackatron questionable...it IS elemental rather than having an elemental breath. Mackatron description below:

"Mackatron eggs don't hatch, instead they sort of unfold in to tiny young Mackatrons. Like their eggs, Mackatrons are for the most part intangible. However they have the ability to give themselves more substance and become tangible. A trick that the Science and Research Center has yet to unravel.

Mackatrons are composed primarily of air and spirit. Combined with their intangible nature there are very few places on Ark that a Mackatron can not go. This makes highly sought after as messengers and spies. However Macaktrons have a very fickle nature and trying to get one to carry a message or spy for you is only slightly easier than transporting a Mackatron egg.

It is said that in the years following the Second Drowning is when Mackatrons first appeared. Many stories of these early Mackatrons tell of them helping the two remaining Niphas survive in the post-Drowning world. Some tales even say that some how the Mackatron are pre-Drowning Nipha's element controlling abilities made manifest. Whether or not there is any true to these stories is impossible to say, however many Mackatrons can be found living near or with wild Nipha tribes. "


It seems that allMOST Eggcave/Ark dragons do in fact have wings. The ones who do not, the Qutten and the Snop, were voted in by the club. I put the Mackatron on the list myself without requesting a vote. I may put it under questionable dragons then.
EDIT: The Chiye and Bunthoff are Eastern Dragon based. They also lack wings. I'm probably forgetting even more.

What do the club members think? Maybe it's all right to be an overgrown lizard rather than a real dragon.
The Snop does not have scales, wings, or a breath weapon. But we already voted, so it's safe....for now. 8P

EDIT: Neither the Luryuken nor the Cosmiathan have wings, though they do not need them since they can "swim" in their respective home environments. Cosmiathan probably don't have scales either. I can't tell.

How could I forget, Dragolds [and therefore Youngolds] clearly do not have wings either, but the Dragold, based on name and behavior really, are considered dragons. Kind of confusing..

Youngold: Yeah! I'm sure I've heard of dragons without wings before..

Quetki: I'm not really sure. I'd class it as inbetween really.

Also, I really love Torgets, I just got EC at the right time. I was really lucky. I'd love to enter the Snop contest but I don't have any art like social media thingies and I am also rubbish at art, sorry.

Hello, Cutey Dragon Fans.

I have added the Youngold to the list of dragons, and the Quetki to the list of questionable dragons with a status of "NO", meaning it was voted not a dragon.

The Draw A Snop contest is still ongoing. The creature prizes are everything in my Contest Prizes tab in my cove @dragonnn. I am currently working on hatching all of the eggs via Yarold's so that they seem more appealing as prizes.


@loumina28, may I host your closed Luminese Art Contest? Maybe those who do not wish to draw a Snop would like to create art of the fairy dragon instead. Maybe.
