It was currently the first day in the Sanctuary for the two brothers and they were sleeping it away. Randulf under water and Jatix up in a tree.

Ran woke up first because a fish had brushed up against his nose. He swam out of the water and onto the shore. He glanced up at his brother as he shook out his fur, purposely getting water on him so he would wake up.

Jax felt something wet hitting his fur and he woke up with a growl. He glared playfully down at his brother before pouncing down on him and nipping at his face. Jax stepped off his brother and stretched out his muscles. "Don't ever wake me up like that again or I'll kill you" Jax stated as he bared his teeth. His new cat genes made him hate water even though when he was wolf, he loved water to death.

Ran just stuck his tongue out at his brother before sniffing the air. He could smell all the wolves and wondered if any them were friendly or just wanted to kill anyone who got near.

((Sorry if this sucks but usually I'm not good at starting first unless the RP was originally my idea))

Larentia was pacing back and forth in front of her cave. She was worried that if she left, Nuntis would come and steal her prey.

Yesterday, she accidentally entered Nuntis's territory without knowing, as the part she entered needed to be remarked. She had found a deer carcass and was about to steal a piece until the giant brown wolf confronted her.

Nuntis had snarled and began chasing her, but Larentia managed to barely get away by flying away, but Nuntis bit part of Larentia's left wing, and it needed to heal before she flew again.

Eventually, Larentia got bored and wandered off, remembering Nuntis had the strength to kill a fully grown elk and wouldn't bother stealing half-eaten squirrels and fish from a tiny pup.

Aurak's new scales glowed lightly in the new day. Obio walked out of the clearing they'd built up as their home a few days ago. Serid was probably underwater again, testing his new fins and gills. Aurak flicked her tail as a question for Obio. Obio, understanding, spoke back to his sister.

"I'm sorry, my dear, we have found nothing more to eat. We must just hope and pray there are other creatures here with us."

Serid, poking his head up from the running river by the meadow, whimpered in response.

"Will they be mutilated too? Just like us?"

Rolling her eyes, Aurak looked at him, the sun faintly shining between his left ear.

Speaking silenty, as to reassure her older brother, she told him it would remain okay. A little twitch could speak more than her brother's talking for ages.

The sun's light made them all feel better. Even as faint as it was now.

Ivy was woken up by a croaking frog. She killed it with one heavy swat of a paw, grumpy that it had disturbed her rest. She sighed and walked over to the lake to see her reflection. She opened her mouth. No tongue. It hadn't been a dream. She groaned. She had done this every day, for heaven knows how long, and it hadn't changed. She looked at her weak filed down teeth and claws and sighed. Then she walked back over to the forest forlornly. She saw a rabbit moving in the corner of her eye and commanded the vines to catch it. They obeyed and Ivy crushed it's head with her paw. She ate it with difficulty, her filed teeth making it difficult.

Larentia was trotting through the forest. She was singing to herself the song Accalia, her mother taught her, and the song that she used to sing with Adolphus.

"Little worm, squirms squirms, on the mound of ground. The little Robin near the blossom, glances and takes the chance. Little Robin takes the worm, and it squirmed, squirmed, squirmed. Now little Robin is not hungry, the worm sits in the robin's not so comfy belly."

Larentia giggled as she started trotting faster. She loved to sing that song with Adolphus. She was wondering what Adolphus was doing, after he abandoned her after they reunited, but Larentia quickly shook off the bad thoughts.

Aurak looked as if she were about to break down. She knew it, too, and despite all efforts to hold it back, her mouth was twisted into a grimace, and her voice was strained even as she spoke to Serid in the most frustrated voice she could manage.

Sighing, Obio lay down in the sun's glow with Aurak. He had to stay strong; she acted so tough but fell apart so easily. He knew Serid would break down just as fast, but Obio felt that their younger sister was the worst off out here. So far, they had run on to a few birds and mice, nothing that could sustain them for too long. He wondered what their mother and father were doing, but that could be pushed to the back of his mind. Obio spoke to his sister in a delicate manner, trying not to be the one who upset her.

"Sis, we need to stand strong in the face of this."

Turning her head, she saw her calm brother, the same one they all looked up to, everyone, the pups back home in the den, their friends, their parents even. How could he keep his cool, his natural demeanor even as he went through this? How could he stay so strong as the face of their whole world was crumbling down?

"What do you mean? I'm calm, I don't need consoling. I'm perfectly fine, no problems here, so take your eyes off me and go see Serid. He'll actually need it, you see."

Aurak's words offended Obio, and with much aggression, he responded.

"We see you break down in front of us, Aurak. You won't be able to hide those feelings from us. If you are afraid, be like Serid, who doesn't try to hide it."

Aurak hastily replied to him.

"I am not on the verge of breaking down. That is that. You are calm and cool, as am I right now." Tilting her head, she caught a flash of solar light in her eye. "Serid is the one who needs comforting. Not me." She rose to her feet and spun around, towards the face of the forest. "And I will go hunting, so we do not starve, for that is a worry of mine, and should be a worrisome matter of yours."

Aurak walked into the grove of tall, mountainous trees, massive compared to the trees of their home. The taiga-like forest should have been home to many creatures the trio could feast on.

Sighing deeply, Obio followed her into the depths of the forest. She was too arrogant, too reliant on herself.

That was how he liked it, too, sometimes, but now was not one.

Serid, who had been listening to their conversation, scrambled up the bank of the river. He knew every word they had said was reality, but what Aurak didn't seem to understand was that she was just as bad at faking fear as Obio had told her. Serid followed his siblings into the forest, leaving the relative safety of their clearing. They may not be too hungry now, but without food, they would last for few days.

As Larentia continued singing gently "The Worm and the Robin", she suddenly started hearing footsteps. Larentia, scared for a moment of it being Nuntis, quickly hid behind a tree.

However, Larentia listened more closely and realized it was lighter footsteps, like of a pup. She peeked out from the tree and saw a rusty auburn female pup, a steel-silver male pup, and a dark gray male pup (Aurak, Serid, and Obio). She was extremely curious and decided to follow, of course in the shadows.

The thought of 3 siblings staying together, even after being changed, made her think about Adolphus, but again shook the bad thoughts away to keep her mood positive.

Larentia wanted to follow on the shadowy parts of the trees to avoid being seen but she couldn't, since she could potentially damage her wings permanently since they still needed to heal, so she just hid behind the trees to avoid being seen.

Ran jumped back into the water and swam around, looking for a fish. Ran was a little disappointed because all he saw were little fish and he wanted to share something with his brother. Then he saw something bigger swim around in the deeper water. Ran smiled and swam over to it, catching it between his teeth. Then he quickly swam back to shore and showed his brother the big fish.

Jax's eyes widen when he saw the size of the fish. "That could last us for a few days" Jax exclaimed as he stepped towards his brother, his stomach growling but his brother jumped out of reach and ran into the woods. "RAN!!! GET BACK HERE!!!" Jax howled as he chased after his brother. As he ran, Jax could smell other wolves and he began to worry. "Ran, be careful. There's other wol-" but he trailed off when he spotted four other wolves and his brother sitting there, looking a little scared. Jax jumped behind a tree before they spotted him even though he was worried about his brother.

Ran had enjoyed the feeling of running but by the time he smelt the other wolves it had been to late and they were right in front of him. He dropped the fish to the ground and stared at the other wolves with fear. "Are y'all hungry?" Ran asked the three other wolves because he really wanted to make friends, even if he was scared to death.

Jax rolled his eyes at his brother and watched the other wolves, ready for anything as he studied them. Two female and two males. Jax knew he couldn't take them all on if they were to make a move on his brother so he was hoping they were nice.

Larentia was watching the pups when suddenely he heard something behind her. "Are y'all hungry?". Shocked, she turned to see a shortfurred dark chocolate brown male pup there.

"N-No thanks. I been eating well." Scared it might be a trap, she turns tail and runs off. She forgets that she can't fly yet due to her injury, however, and takes off. Almost immediately, she yowls in pain and falls to the ground.

"Ow...", she groaned, "I forgot my wing still needs to heal, due to Nuntis"

She looked over to where all the talking was coming from. "Oh great, they got more wolves." She said thought sarcastically to herself . Then she sighed, and with that she camouflaged to the color of tree bark and slipped into the forest.

Making a strange sound that echoed through her brother Obio's mind like 'AYE-e-EEE', Aurak's eyes widened. Obio, stepping on her paw, turned towards the wolf with a broken wing.

"Are you okay?"

At the same time, stepping out shyly from behind Aurak, Serid looked at the silver wolf in front of them.

"Is it safe?"

Aurak, with a growl, nipped Obio on the leg. Always trying to act cool, even when NOBODY CARES.

"Quit it."

Obio, ignoring his aggressive sister and cautionary brother, immediately took in his surroundings. The blue-silver wolf seemed strong and kind, and the little pup beside him was too terrified of them to hurt anything. The first living creatures they met here besides bugs were other wolves. Oh, the luck.

Aurak ignored the wolves they ran on to. Maybe she'd still look cool, even with her brother next to her.

While everyone was either ignoring him or running from him, Ran grabbed the fish and ran back to the lake. Once there, he set the fish down and drank some water before biting into the fish. He smiled at the taste of raw fish and wished his brother was here to enjoy it with him.

Jax noticed his brother run off out of the corner of his eye but he was too worried about the winged wolf. He tentatively stepped towards her since there were other wolves around her and he looked at her in worry and concern but he said nothing. He decided he should just leave because he didn't like leaving his brother by himself for too long. Jax slowly began to slink away from the others. "Nice meeting y'all" Jax mumbled before the wolves disappeared from view and he was running back to his brother.

Ivy padded though the forest. She sighed, thinking to herself. What was my life before this? Did I have friends and family too? As she was thinking, she was not paying attention. She brought her paw right down on a bumblebee. Giving a yelp of pain, she quickly waddled over to the lake to help heal her paw.

As Ran finished up a quarter of the fish, he noticed a female wolf limp up over to the lake. He tentatively approached her and peered at her with worry. "What happened?" Ran asked.

Jax saw the lake come into view and saw his brother talking to a she-wolf but his stomach overtook his worry and he ran over to the fish, devouring half of what his brother left. After eating, Jax decided to take a nap so he climbed up his tree and began to snooze on a branch, even though he was asleep, he was still alert.

Ivy looked up startled. This wolf was in the water, and he had... gills? Well, that was new. Weighing her options, she decided to at least try to communicate with him. She lifted her paw out of the water and gestured to the bee stinger stuck in it.

Ran noticed the bee stinger and he cringed. He knew how that felt. "Owie" Ran mumbled as he swam over to the she-wolf. He geastured to her paw with his snout. "Want me to take it out?" Ran asked, wondering if it was okay.

At first she gave a warning growl, but then she thought about it. If the stinger stayed in her paw, it might get infected. She sighed and gave him a short nod.

Ran was hesitate to take it out now since she growled but he knew he had too or it would get infected. He gently placed his teeth around the stinger and pulled it out quickly so the pain wouldn't last long. Ran spit the stinger out and examined her paw. "Any better?" Ran asked, worried that the she-wolf was still in pain.

She was a little surprised, because she had expected it to hurt a lot more. she hesitantly placed her paw down on some soft grass. it only hurt a little bit. She gave him a curt nod.

Ran made an O shape with his mouth, suddenly realizing why she hadn't spoken a word since he'd first approached her. "Oh I'm sorry. I hadn't realized. Well can you at least mouth your name?" Ran asked, a little bashful now.

She gave a small sigh, but then met his request and mouthed 'Ivy'. Just to make sure he got it, she made ivy sprout up out of the ground and curl around her legs.

He was pretty sure she had mouthed 'Ivy' but he knew he was right when he saw the ivy grow up around her legs. "Nice to meet you, Ivy." Ran exclaimed with a friendly smile. He was happy he had made a new friend.

She gave a half smile back. It had been a long time since she had last talked, uh, interacted with another wolf. She had forgotten how nice it was. She gestured at him, and mouthed 'Name.'

She nodded and waved her tail low in greeting. Then she looked down at her dull, filed down nails. She knew she shouldn't be making friends, but she was so lonely. And Ran certainly was more talkative than a tree!

"I hope fish is okay" Ran stated before he dived into the deeper water and searched for a suitable fish for Ivy. He saw a medium fish and quickly sped up so he could catch it. Once between his teeth, he went back up to the surface and doggy-paddled back over to Ivy. he dropped the fish at her feet and smiled. "Enjoy" Ran exclaimed, happily.
