Okay, so... So far, ideas and goals: -Contests for description and creature design, anonymous submission-Creature design contest paired with CDWC-Creature Recommendation Week (when there is an absence of holidays)/ Creature Recommendation Week instead of Creature Release Week, every few years/both/many variants 😋 (see below) -Voting on creature recommendations with others taken off voting list until most popular is created, every few months-Open/Close creature submissions like CDWC-Overall more comments by staff and more user creatures created (at least a few per year)Goals: For everyone to find a way for users to feel seen and hopeful, rather than as if they'll be ignored and that submissions are futile. For voting to be as fair and equal as possible, if that is the system chosen. For Creature suggestion periods not to be limited to one day or week (for example, UCRW as well as an occasional creatures)*will repost extended list when/if more thoughts come up, so that people don't have to wade through huge paragraphs to get the gist of it all 😋 *

@lenamiloveI do remember the original creature suggestion release week thing, just not who posted it ^^; I think the idea with that was to have it and creature release week, not to have it in place of creature release week. The idea was to have the user suggestion week happen when there wasn't much going on by way of events or holidays, so it could be it's own separate thing 😊 Like have the artists do their own stuff for creature release week and then do creature suggestions for user suggestion week so that artists and users alike can see their creatures be made ^-^

@lenamiloveNo problem X3 I'm happy this is getting so much attention 😃 All the creatures here lately have been nice, sure, but it'd be even better to let the users' creativity shine once in a while :/

@lenamilove maybe with CRW's they could all be user suggestions? Like, even including the really old ones that weren't used? IDK just a thought ❤️Edit: didn't read @mcmelody's post, they're basically the same so ignore me xD ❤️

@mcmelody That's pretty much my feeling 😊 I just hate it when people get to feeling hopeless :/ @hayleysmith xP It's different enough, assuming you're suggesting replacing CRW with user-made CRW? @ida92 Me too, I'm feeling anxious. There's definitely a lot to comment on 😋

@lenamilove I think having both could be good ^-^ CRW comes around every year and then the user creature release week (UCRW I guess lol) would come either every other year or whatever works 😋

I kind of prefer if we have both, if that was going to happen 0-0 CRW only happens once a year. Egg cave seems eager to release more creatures recently anyways 😋

@iceiceice @hayleysmith Like, how about a CRW every year and a UCRW every other year. Kinda like: *=both2016*, 2018, 2019*, 2020, and so on

@ami_utsukushii I still prefer if the creature suggestion isnMt excluded to a special day/week because of event creatures. (Ex. If I want to make a Halloween suggestion)tbh, I just want more suggestions to be released (consistently-ish, if possible.

@mcmelody @hayleysmith @iceiceice Sorry guys, I was picking up ice cream from the store. 😋 since there's so many variants between both and alternating and one or the other or every other year etc. I just said "see below" @polaroid Thank you dear, it's nice to see the support. Hopefully Ian would comment..? (That would definitely go on my achievement list 😋)

@iceiceice maybe it could be in December or January to start off the year and whatever creature wins (for whatever holiday it would be for) would still get to appear in its designated month. I think it'd work

@lenamilove Thank you for starting this thread. I was also noting the decline in user made suggestions and was wondering when the staff would do something or say something about it.I was reviewing this site to a small group of friends and one of the defining features of EggCave, I've realized, is the ability of users to suggest their own creations as site creatures. This has been stated in at least one other review of this site. But if this is to become a rare event, then I don't see it as being a feature of the site any longer, just a random user interactive event that many other sites announce every once in a while.The suggestion forum is my favorite forum on this site because of the amount of work, effort, and thought many users put into creating something on their own. I don't fully understand why the chance of having a creature made here spurs so much passion, but it is a wonderful thing to see.The lack of user suggested creatures makes me wonder where the recent creatures have been coming from. The site artists? Off-site artists selling their images? Why take those creatures when users are offering their own ideas from which the site can profit monetarily without having to pay?Regardless, I'm glad this thread exists, it brings me joy to read it, and communication from staff would be much appreciated, though I'm assuming there are some strict politics regarding that...[]A CDWC-style format for the user suggestion thread would be helpful. Users wouldn't feel lost, having their ideas and work floating in limbo as they are now, and specific time frames would be set and have to be met in regards to submissions and choosing, letting us know that staff is acknowledging the existence of these contributions from users.[]My greatest hope is that the users who create suggestions and are/feel ignored do not give up on their creativity, but rather have the courage and desire to display their talents elsewhere, where they will be acknowledged, if that need be.

@dragonnn I completely agree. Those truly are my main concerns, and I hope there's action taken. I'm glad that this thread hasn't been swept away too quickly, maybe it will actually be taken note of. The idea of a large entity of people seeing your creations and ideas is always invigorating, it's a lot like contests on Neopets. I would feverishly submit poems and stories, just full of hope. And mine were not chosen, but others were. There was a chance. That's all I'm wishing for this site. For users to feel like there really is a chance, that they're being seen. I would agree that a CDWC format is probably the best. Users know what's expected, and the staff is still in enough control. However I am a bit concerned that the staff may not appreciate users saying that they should do an absolute upheaval of their systems.. Either way, it's obvious that this method isn't quite working.

Hello friends!Thanks for all of the great ideas that have been contributed to this topic. I just want to say that we love player suggestions and we hope that everybody continues adding them in the Forums.It seems like our artists browsing the Creature Suggestions forum has slipped through the cracks. That's my bad. We'll make sure that more user suggestions are used and made into real creatures. 😃This is one of the most fun parts of Egg Cave: for people to feel like they are a part. And I'm all about that. I'm also interested in the possibility of formalizing creature user suggestions into an actual contest like the CDWC. But for now, we'll continue to browse the forums for your ideas. 😸Ian
