how about we bring back the old creatures becasue i hate buying cc just to trade for ec to buy a old creature i know it wont happen because of egg caves greed but i really think its a good idea

the post was locked because egg cave is greedy thats why i made this one
the staff is super greedy so they will never release it because they only care about money and they are greedy thats why we had bad items so far in advent
they only made the post to make people think they listen to us but they dont listen to us because they locked it

@questions I would say if you invest in something you want a return on that investment. Players and Staff alike.

You can call it greed, but I would say it's your "just due" for investing in the concept, waiting.

I do agree that opportunity within site events to obtain a limited number of old creatures would be a middle ground, especially cave creatures during the limited time of CRW

.. and getting back to greed .. it's business ... let's just hope patience is rewarded like those who found egg cave early on and invested in the early concepts are rewarded.

Hmm, I think they listen. They implemented many user suggestions. The creature re-release is a touchy subject.

Have you read the topic? It's understandable why they didn't. There are many factors hindering the rerelease of the creatures.

They closed it because the debate was going nowhere. The arguments are all being repeated.

I like the idea of rereleasing creature, but it's rather...hmm, unfair, I guess to accuse them of greed.

You don't have to buy CC to trade for EC.

The idea of re-releases isn't dead. Its a touchy subject and we're still hashing out a good way of doing it that won't have the entire community screaming at us. (which would be a bad thing for everyone)

Just have a little patience, we're only human.

@questions You're accusing the staff of being greedy? :| It's the players that are the problem. They dont want the values and rarity of their precious pixels to go down. :/

There are many reasons that the topic of re-releasing is controversial, and it is mostly users that object re-releases, I mean, Egg Cave has said things along the lines of "get ___ now or it will retire Forever " and for the people who actually bought them, wouldn't that be like Egg Cave breaking a promise? You might say that it would be those users and Egg Cave being greedy, but remember, you don't have to buy any of the creatures here, you not need to spend money on pixels on a screen....and there have been kinda re-release like things implemented on Egg Cave, there was the Oasis that brought back the endangered creatures, there were times in December that the Foo and the Florn were brought back from when they retired two years ago....

If anything, its the users that are greedy. But greedy isn't exactly the right word. The staff is trying to find a way to keep both sides happy but...its hard. In the end it looks like someone's going to be unhappy with how it turns out, but its already been decided that cash shop creatures wont be coming back sadly. But the cave creatures i think are another story.

As you can see, guys, they LOCKED the topic and try to keep this subject quieter so they can figure out a solution...because it always ends up in users arguing :/

I'd personally like this thread to be locked so we can prevent drama right now :x


edit -- questions, if you think the staff is greedy, maybe you should leave eggcave. The staff runs and is the backbone of the site. I know for a fact that the staff is not at ALL greedy and are alot more helpful than mods on other sites :T

Don't go accusing people, buddy. Won't get you any friends in most if not all arguments. I wouldn't come right out of the gate saying how greedy the site is, it's not a very mature way to get your point across. You win more flies with honey than vinegar. Heck, even neutrality is better.

Just for future reference.

~You don't have to buy CC. You can get plenty of it from contests, clubs, feeding for EC, and trading. Patience and effort, my friend. It's not the most appealing, but you reap what you sow.

~This site actually never meant for CC to become such a big part of trading in the first place. Don't believe me, check out some of the old forum posts about CC trading being banned, until it was later reestablished because of user complaints. CC was meant as a special bonus for players who wanted to help fund the site, and CC trading was meant to be for gifts to friends. The staff literally tried to stop that from happening-- blame the users for the "necessity" of CC trading.

It was never meant to be a pay-to-play site, and I believe it's still relatively easy to get good creatures through hard work, compared to other sites where it is literally impossible. I'm a F2P player myself and I've achieved a lot of my dreams through my own work.

~Bad things in Advent Calendar is a matter of opinion. Yesterday they allowed another chance at the Asteroid, and Asteroid pets are worth CC. Given it's not free CC, but it is a chance. If you'd rather, you could just not get any free stuff at all.

~Honestly, EC staff is about the most courteous and active staff I've seen on any site so far. If you could try to understand the staff rather than attack them, perhaps you'd see it too. But I suppose that choice is up to you.


I would be in support of very limited rerelease, but it's a sticky subject. Please don't look at it as "bad" staff versus "good" users.

What do you mean "bad items" in the Advent Calendar so far? It's about the same as it is every year: special items, little perks, so on. These prizes aren't meant to make you rich; they are just little gifts to get the site into the holiday spirit.

@questions I think that staff work really hard, and the 'bringing back retired creatures' is a touchy subject and its being rehashed and the staff are finding ways to make everyone happy^^

And i'm sure you could find a use for it, you could sell it or use it on your creatures, and their have been cave resets and mysterious asteroid resets which have been really helpful and i enjoy them 😃

If I thought as a consumer that a product that I amuse myself with no longer could be that and the foundations/staff were not there to reason with I'd seek out other option which is what I did with neopets and found egg cave 😊

If they rereleased everything, there would be chaos. It's a tricky subject, they have to try and be fair with as many people as possible. It really has absolutely nothing to do with greed. If anything, it's the users who are greedy. We're the ones who are putting huge prices on the old creatures.

We've all tried to explain these points to you. If you still fail to understand, then there's nothing much else we can say.

I'm closing this topic before the name calling and trollish behavior escalate any further.

I will state this again. We ARE working on this. Because rereleases are such a controversial and touchy subject we need to approach it carefully so that any rereleases we do are done right and cause the least amount of negative backlash. Yes, this means that it'll take awhile. We want to make sure we do this right.
