@smilies- I've got my story, but it is not scary or spooky. I tried to make it different, I just hope you like it.

For centuries since the first dragon was born there had been trouble between dragons and humans. They were captured, enslaved or killed only for the sheer joys of humankind. They were trapped in there own homes, afraid of what would happen to them if they went outside, exposed in the sunlight. As time past the numbers of dragons started to decrease until they were thought to be extinct. Soon after they were forgotten and only remembered as a myth, a creature that did not exist, not knowing that there was still one dragon left in the world and that dragon was me.

I had been asleep in my underground cave for centuries after the sadness of losing my family which I could not take, and when I woke up I did not want to live any longer being trapped in a cave forever. So I finally decided to leave the safety of my home only to find that I was no longer in the world I knew, instead I was in a place where there were tall structures made of a solid see-through material and smooth metal and houses made of stone. What was this place? The only thing I found familiar were the creatures that had been described to me by my mother to be humans, but they did not look dangerous or harmful. Could they have changed over time?

As all these questions raced in my mind I was attacked by flying birds made of metal. What was going on? I thought and as I looked at one of these metal birds, I found out that they were somehow being controlled by the humans and then I knew that they could not have changed. They never had and they never will! I tried to escape their firing bullets, but my wing was soon hit and I fell to the ground, being captured in a cage as soon as I hit the earth. I thought this was the end and so I did not say anything and let the humans do what they pleased, hoping to at least have a quick and painless death.

However nothing of what I was thinking happened. On the contrary a human came up to me, patted me and put a white cloth on where I was wounded. Was this human taking care of me? I could not believe my eyes. But why would humans do such a thing as hurt me and then treat my wounds, were they just trying to torture me? I could not understand. Soon I was put onto a giant vehicle and taken to a room in a building that was made of that see-through material and was larger even than my home and there I was taken care of even further. For many days I was kept there in that grand room unchained, but still trapped. I was treated and fed everyday by the same human who I first met after being captured, until my wing was strong enough so that I could fly once again.

As the days went by my doubts about the humans began to disappear and I became quite fond of the human who took care of me. But then once again those humans trapped me in one of those cages and this time put me into a deep sleep. What was happening? What were they going to do with me? But none of these questions had any time to come into my thoughts before I drifted of into dreamland.

When I woke up I was no longer in the room I had gotten used to or between the tall structures that I had flown over, instead I was in a forest full of trees and animals, a place which felt more like home from that time long ago which I had forgotten about. There with me at that moment was that same human, who came to me and hugged me before waving at me and walking away. At that moment I knew two things, one that the humans had changed and the other that although I was alone and was the last dragon to live, I was the first dragon to achieve something that no other dragon ever had and that????.was FREEDOM.

I know this isn't a spooky story or anything, but I do hope you like it.😊

She kept the door open. Gravity pushed the door closed anyway. She shuddered at the loud slam the door made. The noise echoed through the room. Sam held the torch up to illuminate the room, but she didn't like what she saw.

Rusty chains and shackles bound rotting and decaying corpses to the wall. Some looked fresh. All looked starved and skinny. Samantha quickly kept moving, passing jail cells and more doors, perhaps leading to torture chambers! She choked back sobs. Was this what the organization did to their prisoners? Locked them up for life and only used for interriogation? The smell of death brought stinging tears to her eyes as she tried not to gag. She ran down the hallway, her shoes making strange noises on the cobblestones. Finally, she saw..a white ray of light? Samantha laughed with pure spexcitement, and she forgot all about the dark prison. Freedom...freedom!

Samantha reached a door. She shook the rusty chains. This entrance hadn't been used in years. It must not lead to the organization's island, Sam thought. She rattled the lock again, and the old chains snapped. She opened the door, and the white sunlight flooded the dungeon. Light! It blinded Samantha, but she kept moving. Light, light, she drank up the warm sunlight. She stepped into a grassy field, and the cellar door slammed shut.

"What do you want?" The young man asked seemingly no one. He stood alone the oppressing heat pressing in on all sides. Coarse white sand reflected the sun's flat light back to the sky. They might as well be competing as to who was brightest and hottest, the sun and sand. Through his eyes though it was dark and cool, the horizon of heat dull and grey. He spoke to a pale figure made grey by the coming dawn.

"Only for us to be together my love." The voice from the grey was that of a woman. Her voice gentle and soothing, cool as a mountain's bubbling creek.

"You are dead" His gaze looking through her not seeing all that they saw.

"That doesn't mean we can't be together, Seth"

"I do not want to die."

"We all die eventually, darling."

"I do not want to die! Sela! I do not want to die!" His shouts seemed to be swallowed by the dry wind whirling the abrasive grains over their level domain. The hollow empty voices of their childhood friends could be faintly hear chanting "Seth and Sela" over and over, emphasizing the vowels. The voices of everyone who had ever said their name came across the grey world he saw, berating him into silence.

Suddenly, a strong wind knocked her down, and her vision faded into darkness. *Nice try, Samantha Grey. You cannot, cannot escape us. You said the oath and signed the pact in your blood. Now you shall pay for your betrayal.* a voice boomed in her head. "No! NO!" Sam screamed, but it was too late, she felt herself getting fuzzier, and she lost conscienceness.

Samantha groggily opened her eyes, and couldn't see anything. Dark, dark, dark. Why was this happening? Who was doing this? She sighed and shivered. Where was she? It took a while for her eyes to adjust. The dungeon. She was chained to the wall with the corpses. The price of betrayal was a life in the underground prison. then, the iron door swung open. Two men clad in black cloaks approached her. The taller man ripped a cord off of her neck, stinging her skin. "How DARE you," he spat, and pocketed the cord and the pendant that hung on it. He walked toward the cellblock. The other boy approached her and removed his hood. "Daniel," Sam rasped. "I'm sorry, Sam, really sorry." he whispered, and then followed the other man. Sam broke down into sobs, feeling utterly alone.

"Do you not love me?" the disappointment in the grey lady?s voice was clear.

"My Sela would never ask me to die for her!"

"How do you know?"

"I know Sela. I know the way she thinks, what she would do, and who she is."

"Where you ever inside of her mind, knowing every though that ever came to her?"

"No," It was the only answer he could give as he fell to his knees his head in his hands. "But I knew her..." His whisper was barely audible over the gentle rustle of sand sliding over sand. The heat was unbearable now, the sun gaily beating down on the exposed back of the man. He lifted his face seeing her shaded face exactly as he remembered.

"Then how can you know for sure?" He simply stared at her, lost. "You don't know you only hope and strike out blindly for answers you will never be able to know."

He shivered as if from cold, "why?" the question left his lips hanging in the suddenly still air. He fell to his side nothing more than a boy cowering from reprimand.

"Because my love," Her reassuring smile spread across her face as he knelt to whisper into his ear. "We dream as we die; alone."

In my eyes....
The world is one full of HATRED, and SORROW. In my eyes, the world is full of injustice, and thieves, life....
And death....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~*~*~*~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Beep...beep..BEEEEEEP!.....beep...beep...'
Whiii-iiiiii-iiiiirr-iririrrr....'
'Ughh...'
I listen to the beeping noises of the heart monitor and the screwy whirring vibrations of the respirator. Outside of my stark white hospital room, I watch the doctors and nurses, surgeons and family members, dash through the hospital hallways. The doctors, nurses, and surgeons rushing to save lives, the family members praying to anyone and anything that their loved one/ones will be saved. Did the doctors, nurses, and surgeons run that fast when they were trying to save me?
I look over to my bedside desk, where a floral print card is lying open. The inside says, 'I am sorry for such a terrible loss, on top of your condition. Feel better soon.' I'd love to ask the nurse (It's not like I don't have someone come check on me every five minutes!!!) who sent such a LAME card, but it's kind of a hard thing to do with a respirator hanging out of your throat, a big, long plastic tube breathing for me, on top of all the intricate iv's and heart monitor thing hooked up to me. Just swell, just swell. I'm pretty sure it's some sort of record with the medicines they've got me on.
Just as I'm thinking about iv's and death, and hatred, and the lame card, Lo and Behold- In walks the dedicated nurse.
I sit there, glaring at her.
BUMP.
The world I live in, is horrible, and terrible. At least where I am. There's so much petty theft and death over stupid things. Did you know some PUNK shot a little girl in the eye because he was angry at her uncle, and she was caught in the crossfire!? I tell you, it's all so pathetic. I'd like to see that punk when he's not 'Oh so tough and cool' and has a bloody nose because someone caught him without his 'Super awesome' Gun of DEATH. All this makes me wish for peace. Notice how all the people working for fairness and peace between people were all killed. For example, justice-seeking Martin Luther King Jr. BANG! Dead. Bob Kennedy, seeking to end the Vietnam war. BAM! Dead as well. Injustice I declare.
Drunk drivers, they should be locked away for eternity. DEATH happens when you drunk drive you idiots!!!! Your selfish actions and stupidity lead to the death of innocent life! You even risk ridding your useless selves of this world! How about I ram a car into you! Huh? HUH? You slobbering mutts, sober up. I hope you all get sued for everything you own, and even more.
Life cannot be replaced my friends. Bodies get sent 6 feet under for careless mistakes. They lie in morgues, cold, cold MORGUES.
By the time my silent rant is over, another person appears in my doorway. It's the doctor. My heart stops, and I'm almost afraid the heart monitor with stop beeping, and I will be dead. It's the news I've been waiting for. The truth about what happened to the rest of my family...
BUMP.
Deleted • 19 September 2011 at 8:01 PM
Me and my mom and dad and my little brother Toby had been driving home, when a drunk had come speeding up behind our car. My dad had cursed and eyed the rear view mirror viciously. We made it halfway home before the guy came speeding up faster. This time, my dad tried to swerve into the next lane near the edge of the bridge we were about to get on, when the drunk finally lost control, and spun itself head-first into my family's car. My mother screamed as we were thrown along the edge of the road into a ditch. I passed out, and when I woke up paramedics were hoisting up limp bodies onto stretchers, all looking sullen and dismayed. Just then one of the paramedics looked up, and shouted over to the rest of the sullen paramedics. They all rushed over to me, and quickly lifted me into the ambulance and rushed me to the hospital...
"Emma, Toby's dead."
I stared at the doctor, my throat burning with regret. Tears began to sting my eyes, and I bit my tongue to hold them back.
"So is your mom."
This I already knew, but to be reminded was extremely painful. I stared at the doctor hopefully. My dad was bound to be all right...right?
"And Emma....your dad just died, in surgery. Honey, we are so sorry."
That was the breaking point, I began to cry...then shriek, then FLAIL. The pain was unbearable.
And as I walked out of the hospital, supported by crutches, my eyes blazed with a ferocity never before seen in my eyes. I was on a mission to change the world.
