The Specials ~ A pokemon roleplay

It is said that pokemon are always changing. There are new types being discovered all the time, and mega evolutions being constantly revealed. However, there are rumours of a new race of pokemon slowly beginning to appear.

Most trainers have never seen a 'special' in their life, mainly because most 'specials' are extremely elusive and avoid all contact with trainers to avoid being captured. The few who have encountered, or even battled them, have amazing stories to behold.

They say that 'specials' are far more powerful than other pokemon, and extremely intelligent as well. They are capable of dodging near unavoidable moves, and are able to continue fighting even when their HP appears to have reached beyond zero. They are able to pick up and use potions that other pokemon have nothing to do with, they are able to learn moves without leveling up or using TM, they can use ordinary moves to cut bushes and smash rocks, as if they used HMs on them, and their memories allow them to remember far more than the standard, four move, limit.

Such stories are rare, but as more and more trainers claim to have met them. Specials seem to be able to feel pain more than other pokemon, and if it becomes too exhausted to put up an effective battle, it runs away instantly. This is why no one has ever caught one before. It was once thought that Specials were an entirely new generation of pokemon, however, there have been strange reports beginning to emerge that perfectly ordinary pokemon, wild or tame, can suddenly develop into a Special and remember long forgotten moves. Until quite recently, stories like these were slowly increasing in number. Owning a special can put a trainer in serious danger from thugs who want the amazing pokemon for themselves. And if someone claims to have seen a Special, the area will quickly swarm with eager trainers. The new Specials have became so valuable, people are willing to place their lives on the line to get their hands on one.

No one knows what is happening, but sometimes it's best not to interfere........

Personality: Since becoming a Special, she has been curious about the world around her. She normally appears emotionless and uncaring, but if she meets the right people, she will reveal her soft side. She tries to hide her curiosity a lot, because she thinks it's childish. She's a bit of a daredevil as well, and loves risk-taking.
history: Was sleeping on the side of a river before she woke up.... and wondered what she was doing there. Although Mica had other memories, she felt as though she had only just been born. She felt so strange.... it was almost a blindfold had been lifted off her and made her alive. Why was the world here...? What were the stars? Why had she never left the patch of earth that she had called home for more than ten years? And why had she chosen to fight Trainers and suffer defeat at their hands when she could just run away and avoid them? And.... why did the other pokemon seem so dull and lifeless all the time?
Other: Only goes out at night, when most of the trainers that might try to battle her are fast asleep. This way, she can explore human settlements and learn more from her surroundings.

history: When he was young Rowlet, he fell off tree to ground on his head, and he seemed dead, but in reality, he had brain damage. The parents decided to abandon him, but then something happened... He both evolved and became a special.

Of course you are allowed to make trainers! Just list down their team and things, if their pokemon aren't special you have to keep track of their level and moveset, as well as their stats and things. Additionally, you can also make human characters who AREN't trainers. It's all up to you. 😊
2.
There are a few rules:
a. You can't roleplay someone else's character without their permission
b. You can't kill someone's character without their permission
c. you can't leave without warning
d. If you DO leave, then you must let us know so that we can rp your character for you
e. try not to power play
f. If you wish to leave and don't want people to rp your character for you, then you have to make an excuse for your character to stay out of the action. Such excuses are 'wandering off to pick berries' or 'falling asleep'
3.
There is no max character limitation, just stick to a number you can manage.
4.
Specials do not look different, the only way that works is to look at their behaviour. Specials can speak human languages, and if you see a pair of pokemon talking to each other it means that they're Special. In addition to being stronger, they're extremely smart and much more social as well.

Gender: Female
Species: Special Lycanroc (Midnight)
Personality: She is very bipolar, the most noticeable change in her attitude is how she act during the day and how she acts at night. When it is day time, Spar is fairly sweet although definitely not the sweetest. Although she can be smug and sarcastic, she means well and tends to be a little harsher than intended. However, at night Spar's personality flips. She becomes reckless and arrogant, violent even. Her patience turns thin, her nature becomes aggressive and she is more willing to fight.
History: Spar was caught at a young age by Esalc. Once caught, she was trained to catch other specials and fight in thug Pokemon fights (It's similar to dog fights).

Gender: Male
Species: Special Lycanroc (Midday)
Personality: Plagio is much like Spar when it is night, except not quite as intense. He is adventurous and always looking for a challenge. Although he may act tough, Plagio is vulnerable to empathy.
History: Willingly caught by Feldicity and was trained to fight.

Gender: Female
Species: Human
Personality: Sassy and smug, Feldicity prefers to be called Feld and gets very angry when called her real name. She can be very sarcastic and prefers to act first, think later, nor does she care about consequences.
Appearance: Long, black hair that she wears in a thick braid. Her skin is a bit pale and her face is covered in freckles. Feld's eye color is a greenish blue. For clothing, she wears jeans, tan boots, black tank top, and red flannel.
History: After catching Plagio, Feld met Esalc and the two of them work together to steal other trainers' specials. They also made a thug Pokemon fighting business.
Other: 18 years old.

Name: Esalc
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Personality: More laid back than his partner in crime, Esalc is more of the brains of the operation while Feld is the brawn. He is sly and cunning, preferring to take on a situation with strategy.
Appearance: He has well groomed, blonde hair and dark brown eyes. Slightly tan skin as well, along with a surprisingly formal outfit. Clothing includes black dress pants and shoes, white button down shirt, grey vest suit, bright red tie, and a black fedora.
History: Same as Feld.
Other: 18 years old.

Gender: Female
Species: Special Umbreon
Personality: Curious, loyal, independant. Ella acts before thinking sometimes, which can often lead to trouble. She is quite wise.
History: Ella was born to an Leafeon mother and Glaceon father. Fighting broke out between the parents over which pokemon Ella was to evolve into. So Ella left her parents and embarked on her own journey. One night, it was cold, she had no shelter, no light and no path to follow. She was alone in the wilderness. She remembered that her mother told her to be brave, so she did her best. Suddenly, a shooting star flew through the air. She wished she could find her way to shelter. And so, in a few seconds time, she evolved into Umbreon. She activated her light and found a small cave. She inhabited the cave for two years. One day, a trainer came into the cave. Ella knocked the trainer out with her moves. She felt bad, once the trainer woke up she apologized. The trainer was shocked that she could talk. The trainer was called Emily. She has traveled with Emily ever since.

Job: Specials Researcher
Appearence: Emily has waist length brown hair in a waterfall braid, green eyes and lots of freckles. She wears a dark green top, black leather jacket, black ripped jeans and black combat boots. She also wears an emerald green headband.
Personality: Emily is loyal, feisty, independant and generous. She mostly got A+ in her exams. She is very intelligent.
History: She lives with her mother Adeline, father Robert, 3 sisters Izzie,Bella and Amy, 4 brothers Paul, Stewart, Samuel and Jacob and her 10 cats, Angelina, Bobbie, Robbie, Lily, Abbie, Sweetie, Cuddles, Tiger, William and John. She's lived a normal life, until she became a pokemon trainer at the age of 17. Her main goal was to research specials. She then met Ella in a cave and they get on really well. They travel around and Ella teaches her all she knows about Specials.
Other: Emily is the eldest of her siblings.

Name: Rakurai (Raku)
Gender: Male
Species: Special Jolteon
Personality: Independent and tough, Raku is strong-willed and can take care of himself. However, his weak spot is those in need, as he has trouble ignoring a plea for help. He normally tries to hide his abilities and save his own skin but when it comes down to it he is kind-hearted by nature--though he will try to deny it by acting cool.
History: Rakurai is very secretive of his past, and generally doesn't open up to others until he knows he can trust them. He hides behind the scars of his previous life before living in the wild on his own. He wears a black handkerchief around his head that holds sentimental value to him from his trainer.
Other: He has small scar on the lower-left side of his face, of which he generally brushes off and avoids speaking about.

Appearance: Sarah has greenish bluish eye speckled with purple. She wears a white tank top and a pink skirt. She also wears a half ponytail and a purple headband. She also has a emerald necklace and bracelet, a gift from her parents when she turned at age to become a trainer.
History: Sarah had a rather good young life. She aced almost every test. After becoming a trainer, she was given an eevee and vulpix egg from her parents. She was very lucky and somehow hatched the vulpix into a shiny and the eevee into a special. She pretends that she has a Pokémon translator whenever she talks to her eevee. Her eevee{Eva} is basically her translator for her vulpix{Victoria}. She currently participates in both Pokémon contests and gym battles. Her team currently includes Eva, Victoria, Leaf, Gloria, and Gardenia.

A chill breeze swept through the long grass as Raku made his way across a small clearing in a forest he was quite unfamiliar with. Being somewhat of a wanderer, the Jolteon was used to traveling aimlessly on his own for long periods of time, though that didn't change the annoyance he felt at being unable to find shelter from the storm that was surely approaching. He could smell it in the air, but the pre-rain wind felt somewhat soothing on the stinging bruises he'd obtained from a previous scuffle with some of the wild Pokémon that lived here.

He looked up at the dark clouds moving quickly through the sky above him as stray leaves caught in the wind followed him to the other side of the clearing. As Raku's gaze fell forward again, he realized it had grown much darker under the shade of the trees, and he hoped he would not run into any other Pokémon before he reached the end of the woods, or at least perhaps he could find some form of refuge from the rain that crept ever closer and wait until it cleared up before continuing on his way.

Just keep in mind that this is an even bigger reason for Team WICKED to hunt her down and kidnap her though...
I've decided to make up this team known as 'Team WICKED'. Their main goal is to caputre and manipulate Special pokemon to suit their own greedy puropses. They create traps for Special pokemon using the cruellest of methods, they have been known to kidnap small children and tourture them to death just in the hope that a Special might come and try to save them. IDK, I just wanted to make sure that there was plenty of things going on in the roleplay.

Mica crouched in the darkness, rain running down the surface of her snow-white fur. She could hear a pair of voices echoing far out into the gloom of the forest, against the steady drum of rain. The area was full of shrubs and ferns, which gave cover for her hiding place but also obscured her field of vision. But that was fine, she wasn’t in any emergency right now, and her hearing was excellent.

“But I saw it go this way!” whined a girl’s voice. Judging by the sound, Mica guessed that it’s owner couldn’t have been any older than 9. Through a gap in the bushes, she saw a flash of sky blue fabric. Someone was wearing a blue dress.

“We’re not going any further than this.” Answered a boy’s voice, who seemed to be slightly older than the other girl. “There are dangerous pokemon who hide in bushes, and the only pokemon we have with us right now is your scatterbug, and you let it faint from poison!”
“I didn’t know how to use the potion!” replied the girl. “She didn’t do anything when I showed her the antidote, and she didn’t react much when I gave it to her either. I think it only knows how to eat berries.”
Mica’s tail drooped a bit. She was hoping that the voices wouldn’t belong to humans, because she had learnt a long time ago that the first thing humans did when they saw a Special was to hunt them down and try to capture them. Oh, how she trembled at the thought!

The rain had already begun pouring by the time Raku was deep among the trees, and he could barely see through the cover of leaves above him--though that didn't stop the water from dripping ceaselessly over his now drenched fur. The sound of thunder cracked in the distant sky overhead and he decided to throw caution to the wind with the notion that the Pokémon of this area were likely already safe inside their homes or other forms of shelter. He thought surely he would not run into anyone in this storm...

Picking up the pace, Rakurai trudged through the underbrush, sweeping drops of water behind him as he disturbed the rain-heavy branches of plants in his path. He was moving so quickly now that he wasn't really looking where he was headed, and the sound of the heavy rain drowned out most of the noise around him, so he didn't notice the voices of human children nearby.

Before he knew what was happening, he had barreled straight into another Pokémon. "Er... sorry!" he apologized immediately, backing up to see who it was he'd crashed into. It appeared to be an Absol, and he couldn't help but stare for a moment before speaking up again. "I didn't think anyone else would be out in this weather." he admitted, though he shrank back a little towards the safety of a nearby bush at the sound of voices he hadn't heard before, hoping he hadn't spoken loud enough to draw their attention. He stole another curious glance at the Absol, wondering what she might be doing here. Did she live in this forest? Why was she out in this storm? Perhaps she was a wanderer like himself?

Esalc sat in the bay window, Spar half laying in his lap. As he stroked the fluffy white fur of his Lycanroc, his partner in crime paced back and forth. Her own Lycanroc was tearing up a large pillow, making the stuffing fly everywhere.

"Plagio, please stop ruining the furniture. It doesn't come cheap," he flatly said, ignoring the Midday Lycanroc's glare back. Plagio's response was a simple growl and then he returned to ripping the fabric. Esalc sighed, turning his gaze to Feld who's pacing was only getting faster.

"What are you so worried about? You are working yourself up over nothing and you are stressing your own pokemon in the process. Feld, you need to calm down."

The girl stopped and glanced at her pokemon who looked up at her with big blue eyes. Feld gave a small smile and sat down on the floor. Plagio padded up next to her and she scratched behind his ear.

"Esalc, do you think we should join Team WICKED? It would be a great opportunity. I know it can be emotionally scarring though. Then of course there is Plagio and Spar. Not sure if we'd have to have them go through the training and I'm not sure how comfortable I am with Plagio being manipulated..." she muttered as her pokemon stood up and playfully nipped at Spar's ears. She growled back, but not aggressively. The Midnight Lycanroc jumped down and the two began to play fight.

"Save your energy, you two. We need to get going anyway. Specials to catch. Also, we need to get ready for tonight's pokemon fights. We'll talk about it later, Feld."
