@iris1929578 Iceshard blinked and gazed towards the lake. He suddenly felt an urge to swim in the icy water. It felt so free, even the strongest current wouldn't stop him in a river....... with a sudden knowing, he must've been descended from RiverClan, on of the ancient clans to roam the lake........"Let's go," he said.

@skyfall4 He wouldn't be able to swim in it, its entirely forzen over solid. These cats have never even seen water, they eat the snow as a water source. @iris1929578@thebrokenvibe@togepi360-New notes. Dusktail now only has two apprentices and their is another Night-hunting warrior now. Please check the mentor apprentice chart for updates. Also the clan is no longer stressed about their being no queens or medicine cat apprentice, those spots have been taken now-{Blackfawn}"Do move around to much for today, you don't want to re-open that cut." @skyfall4 @iris1929578@thebrokenvibe@togepi360{Blackfawn}I nodded to Lunafall, and I looked across the camp. I noticed Dawnheart by the queens den. She must have been expecting kits now. I nearly curled my lips into a small smile, it would be good to have fresh-kits, the apprentices were all older, we needed new blood in the clan. But I couldn't make myself smile all the way, because their was a chance the kits could be brightly colored or short furred, and in that case, it would be my job to give them the quick killing blow. It was an important role help by the medicine cat, and it was seldom, serious business. I looked inside the medicine den at my apprentice Silverpaw. She too would have to learn. Maybe today would be a good time to show her. She must learn sometime. I went down to the fresh-kill pile and found a mouse that had been killed by a puncture, and whose neck had not yet been snapped. I brought it back into the medicine den and lightly woke up Silverpaw.

Wolfwind had overheard their conversation, and knew what a pointless journey it'd be.They knew so much about the old stories. Why hasn't they remembered the tales of Jayfeather destroying Rock's stick?She shook her head to clear it. She had too much to do. She was supposed to be organizing patrols. But with most cats off on the hunt for the stick they'd never find and others leaving on their own she wasn't sure she had a duty anymore.

I wasn't doing anything, so I got to my paw right away and trotted out, "Hey Wolfwind." I greeted the she-cat with a friendly tail flick. "If your setting up a patrol, i'm happy to volunteer!" I meowed excitely. I was in a rather happy mood today

"I know it's going to get them nowhere, but I guess it's been quite quiet around here, not surprising warriors and the leader are.... exploring." She sighed.Iceshard dug through the dirt. What did the stick feel like? He reminded himself that the stick had no bark and many scratches. Then he remembered. Jayfeather actually broke the stick.

I streched a bit, looking expectantly at Blackfawn.DawnheartI stood near the queens den. I was expecting that one day I'll have kits, but not so soon. I saw Nightsky coming to me. "You should rest," I said gently. He looked at me and shook his head. Nightsky "I'm worried about you," I meowed softly. I nuzzled Dawnheart and left to go get some rest. Settling down, I drifted off to sleep.

I think its time i show you as it looks like we have an expecting queen now, and in a few moons kits well be born. I think you can figure where im going with this. Cats born wtih short pelts well never be able to survive the cold, and cats with pelts that cannot blend in won't be able to support the clan, and every cat needs to carrying their own weight around here for us to survive. So, as you know, it is the duty of us medicine cats to give these kits a quick, painless, killing blow, to save them from a live of suffering. Today i'm going to show you how to do that" I meowed, pointing to the dead mouse with my tail.

Apparently Blackfawn was teaching his apprentice the strict pelt rules of the clan and how to deal with the kits who's pelt do not match the requirements. She shuddered. One day if she had kits...... she shook off the feeling. Her pelt was silver and long. At least one of her kits had to be the right color and fur length.

I still thought that it is long gone, with no chance of finding it. Oh well. I still wanted to help them.

If our own leader can't even be trusted to maintain a steady role in the Clan without running off on some kit's tale, how can she be trusted? Wolfwind thought, shivering despite her thick fur keeping her mostly warm. She mentally berated herself moments later. Leafstar is your leader, it doesn't matter whether or not you approve of her actions. Until she starts to go dark you must have faith.

@thebrokenvibe@togepi360@iris1929578@skyfall4 Remember they won't acutally find the stick, it was been to long.@panda9983{Lavenderfur}Next I went into the warriors den to wake up Silentfall, I lightly pawed them on the side to wake them up.{Blackfawn}I placed one paw on the small body of the mouse, and one on its neck pressing toward the back of its head, "Watch carefully," I meowed, "If you're not careful, you might cause the kit pain in its death." Then in one swift movement, making sure to hold the body still, I jerked my paw on the neck foward and downward quickly and forcefully, and their was a clean snap of bone. I stepped back. "Go grab another mouse or small animal from the prey pile with an unbroken neck, I want to see you try. And then we'll eat."

Feeling better, I recognized that it was what twolegs call "metal".

She ran back, placing the mouse in the right position. Remembering to hold it still, she placed a paw on the body. It's just a mouse she told herself. In a swift movement, she broke the mouse's spine. Then she stepped back, but not with a feeling of sickness in her stomach.CloudpawI woke up late yet I still wanted to take a look at Silverpaw. After stealing a quick glance at her, I ran to find my mentor. Quickly picking up her scent, I ran to her. "What are we doing today," I asked quickly.DawnheartI walked out to the fresh kill pile and grabbed a tiny mouse. Then I headed back to eat. Nawing on the mouse, I was thinking. I wished the clan had no cruel rule of killing kits that were deemed unable to survive the harsh weather. I peeked out, seeing Blackfawn teaching Silverpaw how to kill kits. Backing away, I settled down to eat again, except I had no appetite anymore.

"It's sad to see kits die this way without living a life yet." She sighed. "They grow up in StarClan, becoming warriors there. At least they won't be gone forever." I hope.

He took a moment of dilerious realization to acknowledge that he wasn't being attacked, and he immediately felt bad. He'd be lying to himself if he said that he wasn't on edge at this moment. But he turned to Lavanderfur, and murmured an apology. Although he could hardly hear his own voice as he spoke.He gestured to the entrance of the camp, hoping she'd know he was ready to go on patrol.

It may be SoftSnow, but they prey don't run into our paws. You'll be fine splitting this mouse with me. Go put that one back in the fresh-kill pile."
