You can be a person. You can hunt foxes. You live in a house.

Description: Box is a light, sandy color with a cream belly and huge, fluffy ears and paws. Box also has long whiskers, and is pretty much immune to heat. He lives in a box palace with a lot of other box foxes, and likes eating mice and roaches.
Extras: Likes to shred boxes. Box has a whole palace made of discarded boxes.
Personality: Box is very territorial, and unwilling to share although he will in dire situations. Box loves the heat, and is very fast at running.

Flame stared at the bush. Judging by his not so good hearing, there was a mouse in there. He creeped forward, but cracked a branch. A loud crack ran through the town. A person threw a rock at Flame.

Frost heard a crack. That was probably Flame. That clumsy fox. She raced towards the cracking sound, hoping it was Flame.

Leaf stalked a rabbit, stepping lightly. She was going to pounce when she heard a big CRACK. Ugh, she thought. I missed that rabbit! Slowly creeping to where she heard the crack, rabbit in her jaws, she spotted a flash of white. She shrank back into a bush.

Berry picked berries off of a bush. Bending her head down to eat them, she realized what they were. Yew! She buried the bright red berries, thinking how close she might have been to death. She washed her paws in a stream she found and heard a quiet crack. She must have stepped on something, she thought.

Oak twisted around, avoiding the jaws that snapped closed where he was a moment ago. Spitting, he lunged at the coyotes, and closed his jaws in one's leg while clawing the other. Then he turned and ran.

Hoorah!

Swindle prowled around an old building, her ears pricked for the sound of any furless. A laughing sound caught her attention and she froze, her head slowly moving around for the source of the noise. She poked her head around the corner and saw a couple of the furless laughing together. Swindle smiled despite herself and mentally prodded her brain.
"Remember, these are the furless who hunt you," she reminded herself and she gritted her teeth angrily. She lashed her tail, looking at the fire. She whined slightly and some of the furless froze. They jabbered at each other and Swindle caught a few words from what they had said.
"Fox, hunt, find," they growled and Swindle's eyes widened as she dashed out of the building, fear building in her heart. She skidded to a stop as more furless appeared, their eyes wild and guns loaded in their arms.
"Mother of foxes," she growled and the furless started to yell.
"Kill, kill," they said and Swindle gritted her teeth as she made a B-line for an abandoned building, she'd have to distract them there. If there were any other foxes there, she, and they would be, in big, big trouble.

Box
Box sniffed around the pile of boxes that was his home.
"Box, what are you doing?" his sister, Roxy asked, waving her tail in the air. She snapped up a cockroach, and slunk back into the box palace.
"I'm looking for food," Box replied.
"Well, don't expect me to share some," Roxy replied, sweeping her tail across the floor.
Box continued his search for food, sniffing the ground until a rat ran across his path. Aha! Dinner! Box's ears honed in on the rat's location, and he prowled behind the faint trail of noise, until he saw the rat. In a flash, Box had pinned down the rat, and dinner was served.
Carrying the rat by it's tail, Box trotted into the box house. It was huge, seven feet tall and ten feet wide, with many stories. The entrance was a huge, abandoned refrigerator box. There were smaller boxes, chewed grips, and twigs piled up inside, to help climb to higher levels. Box gripped onto the holes into the box wall, and started climbing upwards.
Box's home was a spacey box filled with straw, morsels of food, and random scavenged objects. The box fox empire had over twenty foxes, red foxes, silver, marble, fennec, arctic foxes all lived in the box palace. Roxy was in the corner, happily chewing up a mouse.
"You've found dinner?" Roxy asked, pawing the mouse.
Box set the rat on the floor, and tossed it around.
"Don't play with your food," Max scolded. Max was Box's oldest sibling. Box was the second youngest, with a little brother named Cody and two older sisters, Roxy and Moxy.
Box waved his tail. "Why not? I caught this food. I want to play with it," he exclaimed, chewing the rat up. Box liked rat tails, they were bouncy and fun to stretch.
Max rolled his eyes. "Fine," he replied. "Do what you want with your own food only."
Box thought for a while, and concentrated on the rat tail. It rose up in the air, and smacked Roxy across the nose like a tiny whip.
"Hey!" Roxy squealed, batting the tail away. Box laughed, and stuck his tongue out. Roxy glared at him, and a dead bug shot straight into his face.
"Stop it!" Cody whined. "You're being loud!"
Grumbling, Box set the tail down, and Roxy returned to her meal, occasionally watching Box with a suspicious glare.

Shayra padded through the quiet town, cicadas chirping lazily. A light flickered and Shayra growled quietly. She walked slightly further, seeing a small fire and a family of foxes. Her stomach grumbled quietly and she shook her head, sniffing for any rats. A smell brightened and she crouched down, striking down a rat. Shayra smiled and gobbled it down.
"I might as well talk to them," she murmured and started to pad toward the family, her head hanging sleepily.

Box had finished his rat, and all the foxes were grilling some fish over a fire. Not hungry, Box decided to prowl the clearing, which was a big grass yard with bushes, trees, and ponds. The clearing was a perfect place for a fox, for many of the two legged things had picnics there, and food was as common as rocks. Dawn was approaching quickly, and the sky was becoming darker and darker. Suddenly, there was a crunching noise, the sound of paws on leaves. Box's ears perked up, and he sniffed the bush suspiciously.
"Box, don't go so far!" Max called.
Box ignored him, and trotted through the bushes. The leaves rustled, and a red fox appeared. She looked tired, but well fed.
"Hi! Who are you?" Box asked, sniffing the fox.
"I'm Shayra, nice to meet you," the red fox replied.
"Cool! I'm Box," Box replied. "I like rats." He thought again, and rolled his eyes to himself. Why did he say that?
Shayra looked like she was trying not to laugh. "Your name is Box?"
Box nodded. "Come with me! I'll show you my colony!" He yipped, and burst through the bushes, followed by Shayra. Soon, he arrived at the box colony, where the other foxes came forward to greet her.

"So, you're all a family?" she asked, sighing to herself.
"Swindle, I'm so sorry," she thought sadly, her face morphing into a frown.

"Yep," Streak, a silver fox, replied. "Well, sort of. We live together in the box palace."
"Box made this palace?" Shayra asked, confused.
"Well, no," Box admitted. "I would like to say I did, unfortunately. The older foxes built it. But I am the Box."
He fluffed his ears, and sat down.
Shayra looked on the verge of laughing again. "Wow, it's big," she remarked.

Flame peeked around. Was this a box world? Certainly he couldn't find Frost here, but he looked around. This was fun.
