Thanksgiving Acrostic Poetry Contest

Hello Egg Cavers!

Can't believe it is November already (in just a few hours).
Time to be thinking about Thanksgiving (USA) and all the
blessings in our lives.

I will be hosting an Acrostic Poetry Contest using

"T H A N K S G I V I N G" as the Acrostic.

Example

Turkeys run for the hills,
Hoping to avoid the shrills,
Apprehensive to be dinner,
Not to be plump, but thinner!
Kinfolk put on a spread,
Stuffing, turkey and bread.
Giblets, gravy, succotash,
Increasing waistlines in a flash
Vegging out by the TV
Indulging in beer and brie
Nothing says Thanksgiving more,
Giving thanks for all we adore!

Not an easy Acrostic, yet Challenging!
You have three weeks to create your Acrostic, so no rush!

You may enter (1) poem, from your (MAIN) account, only!
Deadline is November 20, 2018

First & Second Prize will be your choice of the Thanksgiving CC Creature
(Or November CC creature)

Other prizes may be available to other participants if I am able to purchase them.
CC Travels for November if we get them, most likely. No promises, however.

The best thing at this time of year,
Has to be the food.
As well as family being near.
Never fails to lift my mood.
Kitchen full of delicious treats,
Sugary delights and all sorts of sweets.
Giving thanks for our meal,
I can't help that warm happy feel.
Visiting all our family and friends,
It makes me so sad when it ends.
Never fear though, for I always remember,
Gotta buy to-go plates every November.

I managed to write that up, lol. Thank you for the contest!! ❤️

Cornucopia, Turkeys, Pumpkin , Autumn, Corn, Family, Friends, Home and the Hearth,

〠 Autumn Happiness 〠
Thanksgiving is a real new experience,
Hungry little children will wait for the feast,
A great big dinner prepared in the kitchens.
No it isn't just the food we want,
Knowing that family's coming 'round,
Sing songs of happiness we'll do but,
Give me a day to stuff myself full.
Icing on top is the joy in the air,
Vivid memories of the past,
Involving turkeys and granted wishes,
Never from Santa, but from a loving parent,
Giggles and laughter everywhere ~

This time of the year
Has many thanks in air
And many things to share
No fighting and no nonsense
Kindness spread around
So no one feels left out
Going abroad in food
In which is all gone by noon with
Very little thought
In how reality really is unfair
No negitivity spread around and what is
Going around is only thanks!

The crisp, autumn air, signaling that
Harvest time is just around the corner.
A leaf-strewn Earth, dying the ground crimson, brown and dandelion yellow, like a great red storm
Not a single bird stands still as they all rush to gather seeds
Kitchens as busy as beehives, preparing
Salads made of leafy vegetables, the
Green beans and carrots sizzling on the pan.
Icy frost beginning to cover the city like a blanket outside, making the
View of the town only one of the most spectacular moments of the year.
It's easy to guess that all these things seem like the best part of the holiday, but
Nothing compares to
Giving thanks for all the wonderful things we have.
