Mermaid RPG {SIGN UPS! OPEN AND ACCEPTING)

Heyyo! Welcome to this brand new RPG! I just came back from a very long hiatus, and as per custom, I start a new RPG because all my old ones have died 😊 Yay... Ok, Let's get to the point here.

Background
The Difference Between Sirens And Merfolk
P.S. I found this basic idea from Pinterest and changed it up a bit to fit the story.

Sirens (Pure Form): Sirens are born from violent deaths involving water, like being murdered sea, their bodied being thrown into the water after death, being pushed off a boat, or dying from a sea creatures attack. A sirens singing voice enchants sailors/humans in general and causes them to come close enough to the sirens for them to be drowned and eaten.

Mermaids (Pure Form): Mermaids are born from souls who had died a peaceful, watery death compared to the deaths of those turns to sirens. People who committed suicide by throwing themselves into the ocean will turn into mermaids. If there was someone who had a great love for the ocean, and requested for their ashes to be thrown into the ocean, they will be turned into a mermaid. Some mermaids came from custom death rituals, where the dead is put on a raft and sent out into sea. A mermaid's voice will just appear to be peaceful music to a sailor, unless the sailor or ship is lost. If a lost sailor or ship hears the song of the mer, they will suddenly know the way home.

Sirens and Merfolk: Both sirens and merfolk still have the capacity to be killed. When killed, they will turn into sea foam. Sirens and Mer can mate with each other, but they tend to avoid each other, so it's very rare for sirens and mer to actually mate. Offsprings of a siren and a mer tend to be outcasted. Mer can obviously mate with another mer and sirens can mate with other sirens. The purest forms of mer and siren are from the deaths of humans (as listed above). Neither sirens or mer can remember anything from their past lives.

Siren + Mer Hybrid: Very rare, since the sirens and mer hate each other. Hybrid offsprings of a mer and siren were outcasted because they were "freaks. They were thrown into an isolated part of the Pacific Ocean to fend for themselves and were executed if found in either the mer community or the siren community. However, it is hard to identify a mer or siren hybrid just by looking at them. The only way to find out is if they get a cut or a wound. The blood of a siren or a mer is a dark red, while the blood of a siren + mer hybrid is a bright, bright, shade of a red.

Background
Years ago, before the division between mer and siren, the sirens and the mers had lived together peacefully. However, an ancient monster named Aeturnus had begun to threaten the the seafolk. Aeturnus was an offspring of the evil god Dracul and his bride Adelind. After upsetting the goddess Hekate, Aeturnus was transformed into a sea seperpant with 10 heads, 2 sets of fins, 6 sets of claws, and poisonous spikes down his back. In his rage of no longer being in his human form, he attacked the mer and sirens. 5 brave mer and 5 brave siren banded together and was able to use the power of 4 ancient talismans, 1 banishing spell, and an ancient ritual, hoping to ban Aeturnus to Tartarus for eternity. However, during the banishing ritual, Aeturnus turned to attack one of the mer holding the talisman, breaking the tip of the talisman. The other mers and sirens were surprised that Aeturnus was even able to attack, since the banishing spell was suppose to prevent Aeturnus from lashing out at them. The leading siren, Kairon, quickly realized that for the banishing ritual to work properly, they needed to sacrifice someone. Without really thinking it through, Kairon swam over to the mer Aeturnus attacked, shoved the mer towards Aeturnus, and held the broken talisman as he chanted the last part of the banishing ritual.

Now, Kairon had made two major mistakes.
1) To everyone else, it seemed that Kairon had basically just murdered a well respected mer to keep Aeturnus distracted. Kairon had desperately tried to explain that after reading the ritual's instructions more carefully, he realized a sacrifice was needed for the banishing spell to work. The mer, however, believed he had interpreted the instructions completely wrong and they killed him. The other sirens started to attack the mer, angry they had to kill Kairon instead of working out the situation civically. The mer attacked back, and blood was shed. Out of the 5 siren there, one made it out alive to tell the tale of what happened at the banishment. The siren had twisted the story, slightly, to make the mer seem more in the wrong then they actually were. Out of the 5 mer present at the banishment ceremony, only one made it out alive. They returned, and told the tale of what happened at the ceremony, slightly twisting it so the sirens would seem even more wrong. Thus, the rivalry between the mer and sirens began.

2) Kairon had completed the banishment ceremony with a broken talisman. Instead of banning Aeturnus for eternity, the spell was weaken, and Aeturnus could now escape when the time is right.

The Plot
Centuries had passed since the banishment of Aeturnus, and the siren and the mer community have continued to be enemies, with the true reasons behind how the rivilary started becoming more and more blurred every single generation. Mers started to believe the real reason they hated sirens was because they were violent and evil. Sirens hated mers because they always portrayed the sirens as bloodthirsty monsters.
Although separate, the mer and the siren communities have become strong and prosperous, expanding across the seven seas and all around the world. The hybrids, which were all thrown into an isolated part of the Pacific, have either formed gangs with each other or remained loners who fend for themselves. But for the most part, everything was normal in all three communities.
Recently, though, seaquakes started to become more common. Each community has been attacked by strange plagues or animals. The superstitious elders believe it is because Aeturnus is rising again, ready to inflict greater damage to the communities. However, members of the royal family, nobility, and scientists have all brushed it off as "the sea having one of it's phases again."
Not believing a single word the royalty, nobility, and scientist utter, curious young mer, sirens, and hybrids go venturing off in hopes of finding the true cause of these seaquakes. If they ever bump into each other, will they team up? Or will they destroy each other?

Personality: Kailani is a curious little mer who enjoys adventuring and exploring shipwrecks. She is usually a sweet and kind person, unless you get on her nerves. She also loves singing, and music, and she gets along really easily with dolphins and whales. She is quite intelligent and can speak some marine animal languages. She might come off as annoying, and might be pushy at times.

History (character backstory, optional): As a child, her imagination was fed by all the scrolls about mer lore and culture in the palace library. After years of exploring the palace and secretly watching the warriors train, Kailani decided to take her exploring skills elsewhere. She started to travel to nearby shipwrecks and explore there, as well as going to the villages in commoner outfits to check out the marketplace. Her father was a well respected knight, and her mother was a noble women. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, and she sometimes forgets that there are people who had a tougher childhood than she did.

(Idk if there'd be parties in the Sea Realm, but if there were, she'd be the type of person to go all the time)
Appearance: Her eyes are a light turquoise, her hair silvery blond, and her skin is fairly pale. (She gets all the boys lmao) Her tail is a purple-blue gradient and at the end, it's flowy, slightly transparent, and emits a tiny bit of light in the dark. History (character backstory, optional): When she was young, she was insecure. Although she did eventually get over it, she still hates remembering her childhood.

Asia has almost no fighting skills, but is a fast swimmer and has a silver tongue. She is very good at helping her adoptive mother get information from other nobles.
