Welcome! 😊 Here are some tips for you:

I see you already know how to ping so I'll skip that! (however I'll mention you can only ping up to 5 users per post)
EC= egg coins, you can get these by feeding. As meisawesome mentioned, your creatures can die, however once they reach level 2000 they become immortal and cannot die!
CC= cavecash (costs real money)

You can buy cc with ec from other players. Search for "voucher" in the trading post, auctions and user shops. The generally accepted conversion rate is 100CC for 1 mil EC, but it can fluctuate a little due to supply and demand.
