Quantity of items you already have shown while buying in shops!

I was happy with it only being NPC shops, but am glad it's also been implemented in the Item data base. I use the database to get ideas for travels and it's good to see which ones I have when deciding.

In saying that, I don't think it's working correctly there yet. On the pages with multiple items (eg the main front page, or a search page) when I hover I'm told I have 0 of an item. It does tell me the correct number on the individual page though. For example on the main page I apparently have nothing, but click for example "A few Cranberries" and the info page says I have 11.


As for user shops, I'm normally only there when questing or using items and need a specific item. So I'll get what I came for and get out. But I can see it being useful. Just personally that use is more likely to be preventing me from impulse buying things that I think I may need as I could easily see I already have them.

The inventory was also mentioned, but personally if I have an item there, it's in "transit". I've just bought or traded for them and they are on the way to the strongroom or to be used, or I've just dragged the item out of the strongroom to sell, trade or use. So I either don't care, or it's there deliberately and I already know.

The feature in NPC shops has stopped lots of purchases on my end. The "Oh that's different, I should grab that" has now turned into "What do you mean I have 5 already? I swear I've never seen that before". Or the more scary "18 Eggs? Where did they all come from? Definitely don't need another".

@Ian I think it would be a good idea for it to show on Quests and the item you use on cave.

Oohh I really like it on the cave-bait item! I'm usually just automatically 'eh nope' since it rarely works, but seeing that I have 6 of the item, well okay I guess maybe I'll try.

As I normally only bait with items I have heaps of, and then only when I can be bothered going and seeing how many I have in my strong room, adding the feature here may actually encourage me to bait more often.
