Just to add to what nut said:
Levels - Based on all stats. (Feeds + Clicks + Views) / 300 = Level . Rounded up. Immortality is at level 20, where a creature will not die regardless of the happiness level.

Evolution - Based on only one of the three stats. The stat and amount vary creature to creature and for most creatures can be found in the achieves. It is possible to have an immortal creature that is still an egg due to unbalanced stats or high requirements.

Stars - Provide a daily boost of the stat needed for evolution. For example, today mine got 3 points, yesterday it was 9. So a starred creature will evolve and level up faster than one without. It is possible, though very rare to find starred eggs in the cave.

There always seems to be a boost of activity during certain times, mainly Choco, Dragold's and Halloween, so a drop off is typical.

And as I've put in the notes section on the first post, this isn't my daily go to feeding list either (I concentrate on the XC first, because someone has to). My goal with keeping this list to to try to have something for a player to return to for the "abandoned" accounts or support for those going through a rough patch. So every little bit helps.
