I have been playing here on and off for 13 years now, it's been forever! How are the OG Eggcave peeps been? I've been seeing some familiar usernames and usernames that are pretty new to me - I come in time to time checking in on Eggcave see how everyone is doing. Yes, and you Mods, I hope you all are doing well, too! ❤️

Coming up next week on 14 years and I'm not the "oldest" by far! But I do have every stage of nearly every egg released to date, with about 7 left to go! Can anyone sell me a leafcock??

I'm still looking for Flar (cried myself to sleep when they weren't rereleased last month!) and Shaibun from "the classics". Looking to complete Leafcock, crysmara, beep and cornasnail from the more recent stuff. It's really not too bad of a list!

I was also so sad to not see the flar last month! They're one of the very last "snakes" I need to complete my favourite reptile collection (I have draqua, crystar, and now cobrart) and I have my geckoes and lizards mostly complete. Hoping they come back next year!!

Oooh, I love this question!

I think it would be a toss-up between a few things. Definitely dating myself with all of these, LOL :') But one of the very first creatures I ever pulled from the cave (literally my second day on the site) in June of 2011 was a mo, back in the time that they had some worth (Neriokat), and she has become my calling card ever since (she's still in my cove here) - it's now my gamer tag on most platforms, so if you're ever looking for me on a game, you'll know how to find me.

Another sentimental one that stands out is about a relative of mine who joined the site with me when we were kids and, unfortunately, passed away, @mitch901. On our first day he and I went through the archives together and picked our favourite creatures — an onny (mine) and a ragon (his). Both were pretty unattainable for complete newbies in 2011. He ended up passing away in September of that year, and the entire community rallied behind him to get his dream creature, a ragon, which I was able to get onto his account, immortalize, and then I randomized his password so nobody could log in again and his cove would be forever left as a memorial. Considering I don't think anyone else on the site really knew him, reading through the comments on that profile will never cease to make me cry from the outpouring of gratitude and love this community is capable of, and when I finally got my first onny (Hun) in 2017 from @asi's auctions, I cried a lot harder getting to see both of us with our "dreamies". I still think about that one with love and appreciation for this community a lot ❤️

Last (less sentimental, but still close to my heart!) "honourable mention" would be the Egg Cave Magazine. I have NO idea if anyone else would remember this as it was probably at least 10 years ago now, but I briefly ran an "Egg Cave (Fan) Magazine" with a team of other Eggcavers. We wrote articles about the site, did a "Creature Feature", I designed a cover page, and we just published the whole thing in a Google Doc :') It was very silly and I don't think we ever made it beyond two issues, but I had a TON of fun putting it together, and I of course remember that the first creature feature was a luvlei, back before the re-release when I was still on my grind of being the ultimate collector.

Honestly, I'm realizing I could keep going too — I've had a TON of Eggcave moments I cherish over the years. What an awesome question!!

Solaris (and any other oldies in here reading this!), what's yours?

Most of my fondest memories of "the old days" are about the sense of community here. I was really struggling with immortalizing in the beginning and I kept noticing how some people could do it so quickly! I asked Mairbear how she did it and she gave me the link to a click site. Being a typical old lady (not too computer savy), I couldn't figure it out so that sweet girl took my cove in small groups and listed them all for me!
As many of you know, I was, for most of these years, caregiver to my youngest son who was a vent-dependent quadriplegic following being hit by a car when he was 10 years old. I had to be within earshot to attend him and his ventilator, but could click eggs most of that time! People were always very kind! When he passed four years ago, the care and support were really gratifying.

Some of my fondest memories are when I was a cringey young kid when I first joined, but thedarkarcher (Sophie) has been a steady support since day 1! She’s literally the best 💕

What an amazingly thoughtful response!
I’m honestly not sure what my own answer would be, tbh! I guess just that Egg Cave really helped during some stressful times in my life. Clicking and feeding creatures was something that I could do mindlessly to relax.

And it’s just weird to think that I joined Egg Cave shortly after my 19th birthday when I was still in my first year of university!

Since @luv pinged me (heartwarming to hear i was part of you achieving your dreamy!), I joined with my original account @smilies back in October of 2009~ Since I joined as quite a young kid, there are for sure some embarrassing memories here, haha ^^; But roleplaying on the forums was definitely a huge highlight across the years, I got a lot better at writing thanks to it ❤️
In 2018 I lowkey quit as life got busy, and rather than hoarding things, I gave everything out in a wild random gifting spree, save about 11 pets. I knew there was a fair chance I'd regret it... but really it was a lot of fun! ✨
At that time, old pets were only getting increasingly unobtainable, and it was obviously frustrating and ridiculously expensive for those that joined later. I'm so glad there are now various fun options for bringing older pets back, like The VEND Machine~ Hopefully the site is a more relaxed, friendlier place for it 😊
I'm not really active anymore except for restocking my ice cream shop every so often ^^ Hope I can be of service if you ever need a scoop~! ☃️

hi!! been here since 2011 on my original account, and i just logged in today for the first time in... i dunno, 4 or 5 years? i was a little kid when i first joined, lol. was one of those "raised by the internet" kids in that weird transitory period where i knew how to use the internet but the adults in my life didn't, so they didn't really monitor me or anything. i'm pretty sure i wasn't even actually old enough to be allowed on the site when i joined, according to the terms of service.

i have some fond memories of my time here though! always been a nice community, and i'm really glad to see it still is. you guys rock. ❤️
