CAVECASH SCAMS - Recently, some users have been using the "Gift CaveCash" feature in the Cash Shop Park to trade CaveCash in conjunction with the Trade Center. Please realize that this is not a secure way to trade CaveCash! Upon gifting CaveCash to the other user (for a trade), they do not have to accept the trade and can completely scam you, stealing the CaveCash. Please do not use the "Gift CaveCash" feature to trade CaveCash. We cannot restore any CaveCash lost this way.

How SHOULD we trade for CC then?
Ian • 25 May 2012, 1:13 PM
CaveCash was never intended to be traded.
song • 25 May 2012, 1:14 PM
Well, it is. I suggest that you put the option to trade CC down at the bottom of the offer page. EC to trade, then CC to trade.
Orderedchaos • 25 May 2012, 1:16 PM
Thanks for putting an official warning out there. Hope this keeps people from losing Cave Cash.
saskya • 25 May 2012, 1:20 PM
/nod nod nod/ That way we get the critters immediately, just like with EC.
toy • 25 May 2012, 1:25 PM
The purpose of Cave Cash is not to be traded for critters. It is to be spent in the Shop, or to be sent to people.
song • 25 May 2012, 1:26 PM
But with the Trade Economy that has grown here on EC, it doesn't matter anymore what was INTENDED for CC. It is now being traded for eggs.
piucca • 25 May 2012, 1:33 PM
Then make it safe. You already have the code for EC+ creature trading. Your a smart kid @Ian I am sure you can "fix" it so everyone is happy
metaphor • 25 May 2012, 1:37 PM
But CC is an essential part of the ecenomy here. OF COURSE it's going to be traded. =/ I guess it's a bad thing that I'm too trusting, but
metaphor • 25 May 2012, 1:38 PM
I've only ever done trades with long-time users who I know will trade honestly. That's probably anyone's best bet.
*economy I can't spell.âšī¸
novrain62 • 25 May 2012, 2:00 PM
It is surely risky business and I am guilty of trading cc because I like to help out when I can, the problem with trading EC is that
novrain62 • 25 May 2012, 2:01 PM
there is no option to just trade EC, we have to come up with a creature to trade too and most of the time don't have one
novrain62 • 25 May 2012, 2:03 PM
and the AC is usually empty. For me, to add CC in a trade deal is actually a gift from me, still. I only give CC when I want.
novrain62 • 25 May 2012, 2:05 PM
as long as I'm gifting/trading CC, egg cave is making money to pay the bills. đ Happy Memorial Day weekend !!
jazzyleia • 25 May 2012, 2:07 PM
Thanks for the help Ian! I am sure this will make many users think twice before trading
bunnyshadow • 25 May 2012, 2:10 PM
NEEEEHH. I get CC like that...
skibaerle • 25 May 2012, 2:12 PM
How stupid some people are!
peppermintcowboy • 25 May 2012, 2:24 PM
People just have to be careful. It's the same issue as trading travels through the TC. There's always a chance you'll lose your pets. :-/
acacia • 25 May 2012, 2:25 PM
awwww âšī¸
novrain62 • 25 May 2012, 2:31 PM
@peppermintcowboy - you are right!
@skibaerle - thanks đ
cotton • 25 May 2012, 3:12 PM
How are we supposed to trade it, then? :/
cotton • 25 May 2012, 3:13 PM
Even if it wasn't "intended" to be traded, people trade it. I suggest a trade CC button. Nothing's really going to stop people from trading-
cotton • 25 May 2012, 3:14 PM
it, and it is very useful for trading for very rare creatures.
karamel • 25 May 2012, 3:33 PM
That's why you BUY CC, not trade it. From what I've heard (even though it's not good, since CC is OPTIONAL), CC funds the site.
metaphor • 25 May 2012, 3:38 PM
Yeah, no offense to Ian or anything, but it's kind of silly to expect people /not/ to trade it.đ It's pretty much what drives the economy
here, like it or not.đ
cotton • 25 May 2012, 3:47 PM
@metaphor I agree.
sophia123 • 25 May 2012, 4:25 PM
well, i had luck till now... ever got what i wanted to trade... so, if you trade with wellknown persons it is not that dangerous, i think...
sophia123 • 25 May 2012, 4:26 PM
and i think, we all know that the cc is lost if something like that happen to us! i would never ask to get it back from system...
silver_winged • 25 May 2012, 5:05 PM
Hmm . . . I'd have to suggest a safe way to trade Cave Cash. (If you take trading off the table, the market for CC will die down, and the
site will ultimately lose money.)
asi • 25 May 2012, 5:14 PM
Well. I haven't been scammed yet đ
sunshinecat • 25 May 2012, 5:29 PM
People will trade CC whether it was intended to be traded or not. In the interest of the players it would be best to introduce an option.
sunshinecat • 25 May 2012, 5:31 PM
I suggest a way of trading CC though: in the trade, the person offering CC has to give you a creature of equal value -
- so if they don't send the CC you're still not much better off, and they have a motive to send the CC.
Zac • 25 May 2012, 5:35 PM
The issue arises when CC itself loses value as the result of direct trading. That's why most sites don't allow $ currency to be exchanged.
silver_winged • 25 May 2012, 5:42 PM
I would argue that those circumstances have already occurred, and the best thing to do now is keep people from getting scammed.
Zac • 25 May 2012, 5:45 PM
That's true to an extent, I suppose but it's not as bad as it could be. And if CC inflates, there'd be no point in buying it.
raitonchidori • 25 May 2012, 5:47 PM
I almost never trade CC (seems that I don't have), but theres good people, that don't scam, and now, people will not trade cc for fear...
so, I agree with the others, if we can offer ec on the trade, why not offer cc, seems that some people want to trade it?
metaphor • 25 May 2012, 6:12 PM
@zac But the thing is, here, CC is pretty much the golden currency of the economy. LE eggs, travels, and even names have a place, but
metaphor • 25 May 2012, 6:13 PM
because we really don't have any other way to obtain CC creatures other than through buying/trading CC, the demand for CC is high.
Right now, I think the value of CC is the LEAST of our concerns.
metaphor • 25 May 2012, 6:16 PM
And I'm not really sure I would consider myself biased here as I am able to buy CC. One of the reasons people are so eager to trade for it
metaphor • 25 May 2012, 6:17 PM
is because if they can't, there really is no other way to obtain it directly.
dreamer • 25 May 2012, 6:20 PM
Well then could something be done about this? CaveCash is a main priority in trades and if people can't trade safely, why trade at all?
dreamer • 25 May 2012, 6:23 PM
I mean, all of my CC creatures have been traded for. Some I received with CC I traded for, others were bought and THEN traded to me-
dreamer • 25 May 2012, 6:24 PM
-directly after. All I say is that the option to offer CC in trades is necessary. It shouldn't be this difficult of a feature to add.
