Egg Cave is quite the happening place! Visit our blog for the latest updates on everything new that we add to the site — new creatures, exciting worlds, account updates, and unique activities to do!
Welcome to the month of March! This month brings new creatures and more. Dragold's Den returns this month around St. Patrick's Day, too. Who's ready?!
This month's Cash Shop Monthlies are courtesy of our lovely community—this is the Tydes and Hibisvul. The Tydes comes to us from @prairie, @pipkitten, @poe (what a collaboration!). The lovely Hibisvul comes to us from @dragrawr.
The first of their kind have been added to their respective accounts, along with the brand-new Creator's Mark icon.
Please welcome the Ermero and Jellyton to Ark! They've just been discovered. Find them in the Cave.
The Duckbeak and Parlock are back and have been unvaulted for this month. Find them at the Cash Shop while supplies last.
The Dragfer, a seasonal creature, is now back and available in the Cave through March 31. Main accounts only at the Cave, please—as always.
2022 is the year of the Tiger. The Cye is now retired from the Cave. You can now get it from the Cash Shop for 200 CC through March 31.
Congratulations to @shannondan and @castielkix and @natureluvr, the winners of drawing 2 for February 2022's Cash Shop Creature Lottery! A Rubedopus has been added to each of your accounts.

We are excited to introduce a brand-new icon to creature profiles: the Creator's Mark. This was also suggested to us by @prairie—similar to the CDWC winner mark! This mark will be applied to creature profiles that are the first of their kind, when the concept art was submitted in the Forums by a user for that particular species.
The Creator's Mark mark has been applied to 249 creatures around Egg Cave.
If the creator of that species is in possession of that species, the Creator's Mark has been applied to the lowest ID creature in your Cove automatically.
Pretty straightforward. If you suggested it and you own it, you've been given the mark.
If the creator is not in possession of the species that they submitted concept art for, the Creator's Mark has been applied to the lowest ID creature on the entire site, regardless of who its owner is. In this scenario, a person who didn't submit concept art for the creature is now in possession of a Creator's Mark creature.
We understand that this is the less-fair of the two scenarios. Because of this, we are accepting appeals for the Creator's Mark if you're indeed the creator. Please submit a ticket and we'll take a look at your individual case.
Thanks! We hope that you all enjoy the new change and icon. It's a way to make creatures even more special in your collecting—just like the CDWC winner mark.

We are excited to introduce a brand-new icon to creature profiles: the CDWC Winner mark. This was graciously suggested to us by @prairie—thank you! This mark will be applied to all future creatures when the author of the winning CDWC entry receives the first creature of the species kind.
The CDWC Winner mark has been applied to 71 CDWC creatures around Egg Cave.
This brings up an obvious question of... how is the CDWC Winner mark being applied retroactively? What if the original author of the winning CDWC description no longer has that creature? What if their account no long exists and was closed? What if the originally-given CDWC creature has now died?
There are a lot of different scenarios and we've chosen two of the most sensible ones. We know that it's not 100% perfect, but none of the scenarios are.
If the CDWC winner for that species is in possession of that species, the CDWC Mark has been applied to the lowest ID creature in your Cove automatically.
Pretty straightforward. If you won and have the species, you've received the mark on the creature. It's yours and you deserve it without confusion.
If the CDWC winner is not in possession of the species that they wrote for, the CDWC Mark has been applied to the lowest ID creature on the entire site, regardless of who its owner is. In this scenario, a person who didn't write the winning entry is now in possession of a CDWC Mark creature.
We understand that this is the less-fair of the two scenarios. Because of this, we are accepting appeals for the CDWC Winner mark if you're indeed the author of the winning entry. Just submit a ticket from the account you won from and we'll take a look at your individual case.
We know that, occasionally, we forgot to reward CDWC winners their first creature and expect several appeals here. (You all had to poke us mods to reward the correct creature, which may not have been the lowest ID on the site.) Please file yours and submit a ticket if that's you.
Thanks! We hope that you all enjoy the new change and icon. It's a way to make creatures just a tad more special in your collecting.
Congratulations to @brookie and @frankenstein and @floofykitty, the winners of drawing 1 for February 2022's Cash Shop Creature Lottery! A Gra has been added to each of your accounts.
Happy Valentine's Day! Team Egg Cave loves you. The Chocotravaganza Exchange is back!
The Chocotravaganza Exchange is our annual February event. Here's how it works.
The Exchange will be open to collect Chocolate Boxes February 14-28. You will not be able to spend your chocolates after February 28, so be sure to get your exchanges and prize purchases done before then.
Say hello to the Chocotravaganza's brand-new prize creature—the Cupig! Many thanks to @prairie and @dragon_collector for their suggestion. Thank you also to @aedia who has written the winning CDWC entry!
All three of you have received the first Cupig of its kind; the rest can get it in the Prize Shop.
There are four newcomer Travel prizes as part of the Exchange.
There is an entirely new batch of items that are now available from the Exchange! All new this year!
Like last year, February 2022's Cave Monthlies are available in the Chocotravaganza Prize Shop (limit 1).
The following prizes have been retired from the Chocotravaganza Exchange this year: the Choconom and many other items.
Want to jump in and connect with others to get chocolates a bit more quickly? It might not happen randomly. Lots of people will be willing to trade 1-for-1. You have to talk to others and communicate!
Here's this year's Forums megathread.
It's the second Sunday of the month... for today you can earn double the Egg Coins for feeding creatures everywhere on the site. So, start visiting your friends' profiles and take advantage of it!
The Duckbeak and Parlock are returning and will be unvaulted in the Cash Shop next month, in March of 2022. They will each be available for 1000 CC.
It's back on Valentine's Day! Who's ready? We can't wait to show you the new prizes that'll be available. Stay tuned!
The Science and Research Center in Ark City is now collecting donations for a new creature, the Kendo. Do you have any spare Egg Coins to help make this creature a reality?
2022 is the year of the Tiger! Say hello to this Lunar New Years' creature—the Cye. Find it in the Cave through February 28. After that, it will be available for 200 CC in the Cash Shop through March 31.
