The Doll Maker (teh only one)Name: Doll Maker (quite shy about people knowing his name)Age: Unknown but he's not young that's for sure...Gender: MaleAppearance: Rather tall lanky fellow with a mild expression and graying hair. Always in a ridiculously grubby knitted sweater and furry slippers.Personality: Rather timid and quiet spoken, but he adores his creations, loves each Doll as if he would his own children, so he picks the owners very very selectively.He also likes to do surprise visits at his customer's houses, to varying degrees of hospitality.@gumiI'm flattered you consider this interesting! (- v -)Worst comes to worst, I'll take up characters to help move the story...And of course, lemme know when you're ready to start. đ
gumi • 20 January 2012 at 4:04 AM
@pastelfeathersI can start whenever, but I can't type too many words, since I'm on my IPad ^^;
pastelfeathers • 20 January 2012 at 4:07 AM
@gumiAhaha, in that case, I can make the first post?Then I probably have to head off for the night, so you'll have plenty of time to reply, I don't want to rush you. D:

The Doll Maker stood in the middle of his doorway and gave one last wave at the shadowy figures in the slowly retreating limo. It was sleek and black, a testimony to the simplistic taste of his last customer.The Doll Maker sighed and stretched carefully, mindful of his old bones and aching joints, then he focused his attention back to the matter at hand and closed his mahogany door quietly. He turned slowly and began the unhurried trudge back to his kitchen, where he would brew a fresh cup of Orange Pekoe.And if he was lucky?He wouldn't get any annoyingly rich snobs knocking at his door, looking to buy their way into possession of his dolls. In fact, maybe he could shut down the factory for the day and spend the rest of the afternoon finishing up that intriguing novel he picked up, what was it called now?The Doll Maker gave a small grumble when he realized he could not remember the title of said book.Sometimes, he felt older than his years.Suddenly, he felt tired, he snorted softly to himself. Maybe it was this blasted rain that was bringing him down so. Either way, he sighed as he entered the cozy little kitchen, that tea was not going to make itself?__________________________________________________@gumiSo, knock on his door whenever you're ready to commission your new doll. He's in no hurry. XD
smilies • 20 January 2012 at 4:55 AM
@pastelfeathers I'd like to join and am currently pondering a character đ
gumi • 20 January 2012 at 5:18 AM
@pastelfeathersSweet! B)--Alicia put on her best coat and mittens, wanting to shield herself from the cold weather, and decided to ride a bike to the factory, where she had heard she could commission The Dollmaker for a personal, robotic companion. Although she had never heard of them before, Alicia often found herself lonely, due to being an only child, and thought it was at least worth a shot. She rode the path, as described, and ended up staring at a rather intimidating door, but, thought to herself "This has to be it!" With much bravery, she should on her tippy-toes, and knocked on the door, as much as she can.

The Doll Maker puttered slowly around the kitchen, feeling rather serene, it was oddly nice to have an afternoon off here or there. Carefully placing the age worn kettle onto the stove, he took a moment to gaze out the large bay window to his left.The rain drizzled steadily outside, and as he continued to gaze absentmindedly out the window, the Doll Maker realized that he could hear the clanking of his factory in the background.He frowned. He really ought to shut the power down if he was going to take the afternoon off.With that thought in mind, the old man turned around, but before he could make it out of the kitchen, a soft knock on the front door made him pause.A customer?The old man furrowed his brow in confusion, he was certain he didn?t have any more appointments for the day. Puzzled, and feeling rather sympathetic for the person waiting in the rain, he quickly padded over to the door and opened it.It was a small girl.How curious.He smiled kindly at the child, "why hello? Did you lose your way?"__________________________________________________@gumi@CelesteSorry! I wasn't sure which one to ping. D:@smiliesAwesome! I can't wait to see your profile. đ@hay7199Welcome! But I'm sorry to say I can't accept both your profiles, since the Doll and their Owner roleplay in pairs, you'd literally be roleplaying with yourself. âšī¸Would you mind picking your favorite from the two?

@pastelfeathers, May I join?
celeste • 21 January 2012 at 1:39 AM
@pastelfeathersHai đ--"Mr. Dollmaker," Alicia began "I've heard that you make robotic companions, and you take commissions, right? I'd rode my bike here from my house, and I was wondering if you could take some commissions? I have the money," With a dig into her pocket, Alicia fished out all the money she had in the world - a few dollars, as well as a few fad-objects (such as Silly-Bandz, marbles) and a couple of cheap items (a few coins of low value, some pieces of gum). "I really don't have much else to offer, but will you take it?" she asked.
pastelfeathers • 21 January 2012 at 3:32 AM
The Doll Maker listened with growing surprise as the young girl finished her impromptu speech, when she finished with a wobbly smile full of hope, he cringed."Oh dear," he began, "I am afraid you are mistaken little one-"He paused as a stray thought occurred to him, "actually, what is your name?"But before either could continue, the shrill sound of a boiling kettle pierced the quiet beat of the rain and made the old man wince slightly."Oh dear," he repeated, "how about we take this inside? You must be terribly cold from the rain in any case, you can dry up and tell me why you want a Doll with a cup of nice hot tea?" He beamed, an eccentric little grin from an equally eccentric little old man.The Doll Maker padded to the side slightly so he could allow the small girl a glimpse of the interior. "What do you think? I would rather not have you catch a cold before I could give you a proper answer."__________________________________________________@celesteYou're onlineeeee, wheeeee. Sorry it's moving kinda slow, but the Doll Maker's kinda a slow moving guy sorry. D:@duchessOf course! Just post/send a completed profile to me so I can accept you. đ@hay7199Would you like to have Lily wander into the Doll Maker's house? Then we'd be able to all roleplay together. đ
smilies • 21 January 2012 at 4:32 AM
@pastelfeathers Hmm, I know that I want to be a doll... X3@Celeste I dunno how well I can do sociable, but maybe I could be yours? đ
celeste • 21 January 2012 at 8:25 AM
@smiliesSure, you can be mine! ^^ (That sounds weird... đ)@pastelfeathers8D---The Dollmaker's words to Alicia were so very kind, that she decided that he was harmless. "That sure is a very nice place, Mr Dollmaker." Alicia followed the Dollmaker inside, before standing dainty on her tippy-toes and hanging her coat onto the coat-hanger by the doorway "Thank you, Mr Dollmaker, for your hospitality," and gave a little curtsy "I think tea would be quite nice. Do you have sugar and milk?"
pastelfeathers • 21 January 2012 at 10:19 PM
@smiliesSounds good, there's no hurry as far as I'm concerned, I rather find a few people who'll stay with the roleplay as opposed to a whole bunch of people who'll lose interest. đ@celesteNo rush teehee, take as long as you need, I'm getting really bogged down with homework/work so I probably won't be posting that fast either. âšī¸

pastelfeathers • 21 January 2012 at 11:14 PM
@smiliesAccepted. đIn order to allow you to roleplay sooner, I was thinking that perhaps you can be an already made doll? Like a prototype I made initially and kept as a fond reminder?Simply because it sounds like celeste's character doesn't have enough money to afford a real commissioned doll. And this way, you can wander into our meeting and meet her quickly instead of waiting. Does that sound okay? đ@duchessNo worries and accepted. đFeel free to wander into the Doll Maker's house and do as you see fit until your character finds an owner. If no one applies in time, I'll create an Owner for you. Does that sound alright? XD
smilies • 21 January 2012 at 11:52 PM
@pastelfeathers Great đ I'll change it đCam felt the cold breeze coming from outside, and, hearing a voice that was not his Master's, he tiptoed over to the entrance to the hall and peeked into it shyly, a lock of hair falling across his artificial face.On seeing his Master conversing with an unknown girl, he hid behind the wall. He had always been anxious of meeting new people and found strangers frightening, even though he had met countless people his Master had shown him to.Sucking in a deep breath, he leaned back into the room."Tea's ready," he said quietly, looking up at his master with large, round, blue eyes. "Shall I set the table for two?"
duchess • 22 January 2012 at 12:06 AM
@pastelfeathers, That sounds good đ I'll just live with the Doll Maker for a while đ----Benjamin was in a small room he used for his music practice. He had chosen to play the violin today, and it rested on his shoulder lovingly, as sweet melodies poured from its strings. The door of the room was slightly ajar, and he could hear the faint voices of his Master and a Guest outside. Uncertainly, he wondered if he should go out and greet the Guest; he was curious to see who would visit the Doll Maker. The music faltered as Benjamin tried to decide what to do. He wasn't very confident in making his own decisions. In the end, he decided that if he were needed, he would be called.He put the bow back to the strings and the music welled up from the violin once more.
